Why such big eyes on "another Scrooge"? I thought that Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" was rather well known. (It was even adapted by Disney using these characters and Scrooge was, well, Ebenezer Scrooge.) Also fun fact, young Donald was voiced by the VA of the nephews from the original Ducktales.
I just thought it was funny that they made the joke "a different scrooge", basically meaning that the other scoorge is out there and THESE were the actually ghosts that scoorge saw lol it was kinda funny and shocking at the same time to imagine him seeing these ghosts

Part of the reason most shows don't mess with intros too often is because since it's in (almost) every episode, it's given a slightly higher budget, so it costs a bit to change. Frank's said on tumblr that's why the intros only have a couple of changes between seasons (GizmoDuck and Magica are added for season 2, and you'll see the season 3 one when you get there). There's one episode that has a drastically changed intro in the show, but that's because of a happy coincidence with a thing Disney was doing

But young Donald being a punk is wonderful. And I love how everyone in this is so adventure-savvy - Della instantly knows about Dewey being a time traveler, and young Scrooge casually greets old Scrooge, and Donald welcomes Dewey back from time travel. It's great. They've all seen it hundreds of times already - it's my favorite kind of audience-winking shenanigans. Not full-on fourth wall breaks, but just acknowledging tropes. And then the stinger at the end, where we finally start to get... plot! Can't wait for next episode.

The square "rock" presented to Scrooge from the Andes references one of the classic Barks comic stories about square eggs, IIRC. . Also, not only is this a reference to the classic Christmas Carol story, but also the Mickey's Christmas Carol special... also with Uncle Scrooge. Jiminy Cricket was the Ghost of Christmas past and he's a cricket here too. There's also the illustrations over the closing credits matching the style of the ones from Mickey's Christmas Carol. . SCROOGE DID THE POGO JUMP!!!!

Oh yeah, this is definitely one of the best episodes, though for this show making a top ten list would be next to impossible. What really elevates it for me though is all the very subtle Easter eggs to Dr. Who and its Christmas episodes.
Della always reminded me a LOT of Webby, how they sound and act really, and look. I never could understand why such a parallel existed. I think further foreshadowing that Webby was related to the McDucks.
Fun facts: the square rocks thing was a reference to a classic duck comics adventure that some claim inspired Minecraft. And Dumbella was Della Duck's original name back in the 1940s, (as a letter only about leaving her kids with Donald). Not the only time something like that has happened Lola Bunny was a name change from the Looney Tunes comics Bugs Bunny girlfriend Honey Bunny.
I still love how they have David Tennant, voice of Scrooge McDuck and the actor who played the tenth Doctor in Doctor Who, to say "Ugh, timetravellers"

Have you seen Mickey´s Christmast Carol? It is a really fine little special. This episode makes a lot of references to it especially with the end credits. Sadly they only had one episode to tell this stories, with Dewey´s story that could have been another episode but oh well they do what they can.
I hope in the upcoming Christmas episode later this month, they’ll make references to Mickey’s Once and Twice Upon a Christmas, especially since we got a larger cast since last season. Maybe perfect opportunity for them to do the Christmas song mashup they do at the end or a cover of the song from the ending of the second movie
