With the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass coming to an end soon, I thought it would be a great time to predict the retro tracks of Mario Kart 9. Now of course there is currently no sign of a new Mario Kart game coming any time soon but with Mario Kart Tour's content being finished and no signs of a 2nd Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it's pretty much safe to say there will be a new Mario Kart game soon. Or you could just remake all the tracks that weren't remade in the base game. Like Wii Wario's Gold Mine for example. It was remade in Mario Kart 8 DLC, but it wasn't remade in the base game. And also 3DS Koopa City/Neo Bowser City. That too wasn't remade in the base game on the Wii U.
Here is what I think could be added to MK9 (or as it could be called) "Mariokart Switch"
Shell cup:
WiiU: Thwomp Ruins (major possibility to return)
3DS: Daisy Hills (first Daisy track to return in a decade)
N64: Choco Mountain (filled with chocolates, candy, and sodas)
Wii: Toad's factory (Major return needed)
Banana cup:
DS: Shroom Ridge (might return if a new shortcut gets added)
SNES: Mario Circuit 4 (add gliding and anti-gravity)
GBA: Sunset Wilds (could return but it has to be exactly like the main game)
GCN: Mushroom City (a proper GCN track that needs a remake)
Leaf cup:
DS: Figure-8 circuit (make it better)
N64: Wario Stadium (needs to return)
WiiU: Shy guy falls (another possible return)
Wii: DK Summit (might be an unlikely chance to return)
Lightning cup:
SNES: Donut plains 2 (last donut plains to ever return)
3DS: Alpine pass (could return if it's not clashing with a Nitro Course)
GCN: Bowser's castle (to bring back the tradition of bowser castles)
GBA: Rainbow Road (tradition return since MK7)
In case you are wondering, I'm not gonna count MKTour or BCP. Down below will be the return of triforce and bell cup for Retro (egg and crossing will be for Nitro).
Triforce cup:
Wii: Moonview Highway (major return if new shortcut gets added)
N64: Rainbow road (following pattern from triforce cup in MK8D)
WiiU: Electrodrome (possible return)
DS: Tick-tock clock (unlikely to return but could fill in to leave the rest of left over courses for mk game after that)
Bell cup:
GBA: Yoshi's desert (massive opportunity to return)
GCN: Wario Colosseum (GCN Course that also needs to return like Mushroom city)
SNES: Koopa Beach 1 (last Koopa beach that has to return, no exceptions)
3DS: Rosalina's ice world (might return if not clashing with DK summit or a Nitro course)
I feel like Mariokart 9 would contain atleast 48 Tracks as it standards think about Mariokart 8 Deluxe has now 96 Tracks so I think it will start with 48 in it’s base game then add DLC and probably come up to 96 Tracks again
I don't know they would have to replace the Triforce and the Animal Crossing logo cups cause both were tied to Link and Villager/Isabella inclusion in Mario Kart 8. It's possible they might not be in the Next Mario Kart game, so having the triforce and animal crossing cups wouldn't make sense to have.

@PaulIsTheGreatApostleOfChrist most likely an existing cup that we had in the booster course Waves. Either that or they add like other Nintendo ip into Mario Kart like adding Captain Falcon or Kirby or even Fox McCloud, then they could make the cup that are tied to those. Personally It would be sad not to keep Link around cause there are so many places across the Zelda franchise that could turn into tracks beside the one we had Mario Kart 8, like Hyrule field comes to mind, Kokari forest is another one.
Better have a damn good line up while keeping it realistic (so nothing like having 3 of the 4 remaining GCN tracks or reusing retros).
Yeah, not like Mario Kart 8 did by remaking most of the retro tracks from Mario Kart 64.
Hopefully, the retro courses can fix their issues & make them better (sunset in SUNSET Wilds, Electricity in Koopa Cape, etc.)

The whole gimmick of Sunset Wilds is completely gone, plus most of the track is completely flat.
And Koopa Cape is completely nerfed in the underwater tube, because of the underwater gimmick.
Swap out Koopa Beach with Choco Island 1. Also take out some other ones that have already been remade tecently with some other tracks like Vanilla Lake 2 and Mario Circuit 4. Take out Sunset Wilds probably with Lakeside Park and Sky Garden with Cheep Cheep Island. Neither of those have been remade except for in Tour and their time to retuen is now. I personally want to see Electrodome, Sunshine Airport and Cloudtop Cruise to return in this game for Wii U tracks
You forget that Sunset Wilds was only DLC for Mario Kart 8, not in the base game. So it could still return in Mario Kart 9 or the next game.

Honestly, a surprisingly good selection.
I probably would have replaced some of them, but the main ones for me personally are:
N64 Choco Mountain with Frappe Snowland, there aren’t too many snow tracks used, so we may as well give them one here.
Wii Coconut Mall with SNES Bowser Castle 2, as much as this one is hated, I just think it deserve a chance, and I‘m not willing to give Coconut Mall the opportunity to come back for a long time.
And, Wii Koopa Cape with N64 Banshee Boardwalk, again, a similar reason, but unlike Coconut Mall, I wouldn’t mind having Koopa Cape in the new entry, I just prefer to have Banshee Boardwalk making its next appearance after appearing in DS.
Thanks, man! :) I maybe could've added a SNES Bowser Castle over one of the Wii tracks. There weren't any options I could think of that fit well but a Bowser Castle could work well considering they've always remade a flat Bowser Castle track in each game. Plus it gives SNES a little more rep.

@@fgfhjfhjfbhfghf5771The DS remake is fine in my opinion, just the original version is a lot harder with that one section with the snowmen all over the place. They could've so easily just gotten rid of some of those snowmen there, but nope! You instead just fall behind in the race because of it!

I would argue that things being in the BCP significantly lowers their chances of being in the next Mario Kart. Though I could see one or two getting in specifically due to fan backlash like Sunset Wilds. But a lot of these just feel like "we didn't like the most recent iteration of these so they'll try again in the next game" and I just don't really buy that. I would also like to point out there is one track in Tour that isn't in the Booster Course Pass that's a perfect opportunity for them to remind people tour exists, which is Piranha Plant Pipeline. I also think we'll see a lot less N64 tracks than we're used to specifically because there's only one we haven't seen remade. I think two in the usual 16-track setup or 3 in the suggested 24-track setup you made here.
Of course, I also have the hindsight of knowing exactly what's in Wave 6, so that would color my opinions slightly. I'm gonna throw together my own suggested course list, but it's all fun and speculation. Who knows what they'll do next?

I tried to get a good balance of stuff, but suffice to say, even some of the more boring tracks could be really spiced up with just the MK8 mechanics let alone whatever crazy stuff they decide to throw at us in the next title!
i think they will make 4 regular cups and then a store for switch online where you can buy and play tracks for coins that will be coming for seasons, like in mario kart tour! I feel it would be fun
So, imma send my predicts right here.
Before that I explain 1 perticular thing, being that I wont include tracks from WiiU/NS in it. The Reason why I wont include these is simple, they are already perfect in the way they are and I dont see any point from them to be changed in a new way. I mean they are already in a perfect graphical stand, unlike other courses from previous gens wich lack of up to date graphics. Including WiiU/NS tracks would therefore be very filler. Also I will include Retro Tracks, that were already remaked. Since the BCP had the chance to finish of the entirety of MK with remaking every retro track and didnt, because of including tracks that were already remaked. I thing this pattern will cover the next MK aswell.

Same with Toad's Factory and Daisy Hills, but they didn't remake ANY of these tracks!

Gonna be real, a lot of your predictions won't make it in because base retros consist of courses that haven't been brought back yet.
SC and Tour are exceptions due to the former only having SMK courses as a result of limitations (hence why they are brought into 3D from DS onward), and Tour being a mobile game with finicky controls and vastly different gameplay.
Sure, courses are running out, but it is completely possible to have the next MK feature retros that haven't returned.
Yep, just depends how many tracks, as well as which tracks from each game you wanna see get remade.
Double Dash has a great Special Cup so I love the Wario Colesseum and Bowsers Castle picks

I find it best if you remake one of them in this game, and then add the other one in the next game, don't you think. Because to me, just adding one Wuhu Island track as a retro track makes more sense than adding both of them. Because Nintendo likes to be consistent on which theme to implement, as well as how many tracks of which theme to add.
