    In my opinion this is way better than getting as 4k monitor and i say this because the monitors pixel per inch is way good enough and you don' need such a high resolution for such a small monitor when comparing it to a tv where 4k should stay.

    • @tested2032
      @tested2032 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Personally coming from 4K 28" to 3440x1440 34"(same dpi as 1440p27"), the sharpness is noticeable, but 1440p is good enough. The worse resolution is a worthy trade of for high refresh rate I'm my experience though.

    • @quickraid8282
      @quickraid8282 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Test ED there is only so little you can notice and that is why 4k resolution should stay in the realm of televisions, also to mention that having a kickass 1440p monitor and a free sync panel does have it advantages aswell as cards like the r9 390 is more than capable getting 60+ fps in most games at high settings.

    Good video Marcus!! I believe you did a great thorough performance review of this monitor! Though I do have some constructive criticism and feedback for this new style of video, I'm not trying to be a dbag at all or anything. I believe that the b-roll was pretty damn good so good on your part. As for the criticisms, here they are:
    -The intro music wasn't really grabbing my attention, it didn't particularly make me feel excited for a product I should be excited for, and I should say this for the intro as a whole, though the b-roll was great, overall it was that attention grabbing
    -You got into the spec sheet of this product a bit too quickly in my opinion, and I believe there wasn't much of a segway or transition into the specs, it feels like they were just read off the spec sheet
    -After mentioning the specs of this monitor at the intro, you started talking about other things such as setting it up, the design, on-screen menus, inputs, etc, then you came back to specs
    -As a whole, this review feels a bit choppy, to follow up on my point previous to this one, like at the beginning you first talked about specs but after the leaving the b-roll and going person view, you talked about other things before following up on the specs, also when talking about the twitch-based shooters, you mentioned the low response time was good for them but then you went off talking about other things, then later came back to it to follow up
    -If this review was put together in a different way, it could’ve been a bit shorter and allowed for better transitions to different topics
    -When talking about the free-sync and frame rate aspect of this monitor, you started going off about the stuttering, almost feeling like you were trying to educate us on stuttering, basically though your opinion on this aspect of the monitor was a very good point to make, it made me feel like you were losing a bit of focus on the review
    -When comparing G-Sync and Free-Sync, that point I believe could have been made more clear or concise and lasted a bit longer than it needed to
    -There were some repeated points that did not need to be mentioned or could’ve just been placed in one section and that point would’ve been clearly made across (I believe)
    -Though not really necessary in this video, could you add some more overlays to add more variety to the review, ex: pricing (the only overlay idea I can think of at the moment)
    -I believe their was some excessive b-roll in certain places that I believe was not necessary, also there were some shots that were a bit long
    -Finally for the Twitter plug at the end, along with saying your Twitter, you could possibly do an overlay with the Twitter logo with your Twitter handle below it, and you could do that with your Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, and your Steam Community if you would like
    Again I’m not trying to be a dbag or anything, I’m just trying to provide some constructive criticism for future videos to come from your channel, hopefully you take these points into consideration for future content. Anyway thanks for the overall great review of this monitor!

    • @PcCentric
      @PcCentric  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Tanner Hostrander Cool, thanks for the detailed breakdown, much appreciated.
      Essentially, going forward we are looking at breaking up the video using the 20 second rule, where we have a change of shot at least every 20 seconds. Finding the balance of the B-roll is the challenge to address over the coming months.
      Intro will be refined too, the the overall feel will staty the same - short and snappy, so that new viewers know what the product is, as well as continuity from the B roll thumbnail to the B roll video - A major issue prior to the video, was that the thumbnail didn't reflect the first 20 seconds of the video - which is where new viewers will decide whether to watch the video.
      Music wise, again, the balance will be the challenge. I have about 5 different tracks in the roster, so let me know what you think as we go along.
      Overlay stuff will come over time too. Last year was about securing good content, this year is about refining it!

    • @airsoft736
      @airsoft736 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah good, good... And when I was talking about b-roll, I'm aware of the 20 second rule you talked about I believe in that end of the year stream. I wasn't trying to say to vastly decrease the amount of it because yes, a decent amount of b-roll is necessary, but some parts (in my opinion) were not need as they weren't essential to the video or some shots were overly long. But yes good video I have to say. Have a happy new year and can't wait for the new changes to come!!

    Great review. But everyone's hooked on "Response Time" thinking it has to do with a quick timing between when you see something onscreen and when your reaction can be registered on the monitor.
    That is not the case. Response time is the time it takes for one pixel to change colors. Unless you know what color to what color and some other things, it's a useless spec.
    So unless monitor manufacturers standardize this measurement, it is completely meaningless.
    People talk about this stat as if they know what it means.

    • @EileenTheCr0w
      @EileenTheCr0w 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The whole point is to limit motion blur, so when you turn or a character, vehicle, etc is moving along a background, the better the response time, the quicker the pixels change, which means less noticeable trails / blurry text, etc. Its far from useless.

    • @HarrySatchelWhatsThatSmell
      @HarrySatchelWhatsThatSmell 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi there, I just watched your video and found it very informative, thanks for sharing. ^_-
    I'd like to buy this monitor for my 'retrogame' setup, so I'm looking for a very specific information, hope you don't mind me asking.
    I'm aware the screen rotates 90° clockwise only, but what I'd wish to know is: can it be mounted on its stand so the vertical position is the default one (so the Asus logo at the bottom of the bezel appears to be on the right), and the 90° cw rotation brings it back to normal/horizontal?
    Reason why I ask is: many old games that used to be displayed in vertical (TATE) mode, rotated 90° counter-clockwise only, so they would look upside down, on this monitor, once it gets pivoted. I hope it makes sense... :)
    Thanks in advance!

    • @s2xbox360

      you orobably have ultr low motion blur activated which can only work at 120 hz.
      disable ultra low motion blur and then you can use it at 144hz

      You have to use Displayport for 144hz support.
      It dependes on your 750ti model
      The 750ti does NOT Support Freesnyc, as it is an AMD Technology

    I have a 980Ti and have never experienced screen tearing. Since this is cheaper than the 165Hz G-sync version, should i get this? I really dont think G-sync would benefit me and is why i am considering this despite having freesync (that i wont be able to use but dont care lol)

  • @absu985

    Im confused if IPS or TN is the best for me , i use this for gaming and stuff and i do watch movies , i do play shooter games as a pro like Overwatch/cs:go/Call of duty/battlefield for example , but i dont always sit in front off the monitor when playing ..i need 144hz 27 inches 2560 x 1440p and stuff probably 1ms response time , but idk if 4ms is like as good or there is a difference , i have my cousin who sit with me on PC like , everyday on 1PM to 3PM till he goes to his home , from a side ..and the biggest problem with IPS is that dead pixels and blacklight bleed , heard its unfixable ..and when i was thinking about BenQ xl2730z , they said it comes from factory with TRASHHHHHHHHH colours and it is TN , was thinking about Asus PG278Q or 279Q but people said they got sooo many issues off it and saw a video with "Don't buy" on it as a review
    then , was thinking about Acer predator xb271hu , if i spelled its name right , but seen many with backlight bleed and they didnt recommend it for hardcore gaming since its 4ms ..IM SO CONFUSED , WHAT SHOULD I DO?

    Help me decide please (yeah I'm not capable of deciding for myself😀)
    Should I buy this one or the mg279q?
    The viewing angles on a TN are usually atrocious. This problem doesn't exist with the mg279q which is an ips display.
    Thing is, I've been offered this, the mg278q, for 310 pounds only a couple of months old. That's around 170 punds cheaper than the mg279q.

      +Django CS GO Well, this one is really very nice for a TN panel. Ideal pixel density. But the IPS panel will be better. I guess it depends on whether you you want to save the £170 :)

    • @HelloMyFriend_
      @HelloMyFriend_ 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Uhhh that's my conundrum exactly. To save or not to to save.
      I just returned the AOC G2460PF because I just couldn't live with the size, coming from an imac 27 inch, and the dead awful colour shift when looking from the sides.
      Is this one's TN panel a better quality than that one?
      Thx for the quick reply m8. Love your videos.

    • @PcCentric
      @PcCentric  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Django CS GO The 'feel' is the same as on the AOC PF, but the colour is much better. If your coming from an iMac, get the IPS. I think you would be more annoyed by the 'what if I got the IPS?' question, than spending the extra cash. But obviously money is money, so it's down to you. :)
