I have recently found your channel. Great content!
I’ve been trying to learn more about acid reflux and what to eat. My 14 year old son has been waking up with severe chest pains, really scary! … long story short doctors say that it’s possibly acid reflux. Thankfully when I rushed him to the ER they of course ran tests to make sure that it actually wasn’t his heart and what not.
As we are in the early stages of figuring it all out, I’ve been trying to find some good recipes for him to eat. It’s pretty hard because he is a junk food junkie! And I don’t have the best know how on cooking skills (aside from what I already know)
He’s lost about 20lbs, and I didn’t realize! I thought maybe he was just sprouting up and thinning out.
Anyway, all of your foods so far look amazing but I wondered if you’d be able to suggest some young teenage type foods lol ( if that makes any sense)
We are doing our best to get on the right track and help him to enjoy other foods that he’s not used to.
Thanks for the videos they are much appreciated!

Thank you so much. I subscribed to your channel. I really like your presentation and your soothing voice. Everything you listed triggers my acid reflux. To me chocolate liquor added beverages or cookies totally messes up my stomach lining. Aloe Vera is helpful. Eating before you get really hungry helps, shorter window between meals. No eating after 4:00- 5:00 pm or earlier would be better. I bought Slippery Elm after watching your video. Still suffer from throat pain but better. Thanks a lot. Hope my comment helps someone who is suffering!

If you have the morning Coffee everyday start by stopping that. Even decaffeinated coffee still gives me heartburn. I would have 1 coffee in the morning and I would have heartburn for the rest of the day and all the other foods mentioned in this video would just make it worse. It took about 3 days to notice a difference when I stopped drinking it. I went back to it and stopped it several times to see if it was the cause.

    Another great informational video!
Based off your videos and others, I’ve changed my diet a bit by doing no caffeine, alcohol, red meat, nicotine and acidic foods. Unfortunately I made months of “progress” that was massively derailed by taking one shot of diluted apple cider vinegar. Recently I started making my own ginger tea and started drinking alkaline water which made that mistake 50-60 percent better. I believe my sore throat is from GERD, as pepsin is stuck in my throat. I recently ordered slippery elm based on your past videos, hope it helps my GERD in the mean time while I wait to see a gastroenterologist in a couple weeks. Do you have any other tips that worked for you that specifically helped your throat?
    Thanks!

Great video. I've fallen into the trap of eliminating dairy foods and then suffering from calcium deficiency, now introducing dairy in small quantities again, so this video is spot on and a great reminder to not go into extremes!
May I ask how much time did it take you to eliminate all symptoms? I'm almost 2 months in elimination diet & following all your tips and I'm having great improvements but still not feeling like normal. It would be great to know how much time was the "healing" process for you. Thanks again!

Hi there! thank you so much for reaching out! i am so glad that my reflux videos have been helpful for you! It took me about 6 months with the herbs and eliminating triggers to feel normal again. i do occasionally have a flare but its very minimal and not painful like it used to be. i eat everything now but sometimes if i eat a lot of chocolate i will get a bit of heart burn, but then i just take the herbs (slippery elm and licorice root) and i feel totally fine!

    1 Spicy food
    2 Fatty/fried food (but don't exclude completely)
3 Acidic food like pineapple, lemon water, tomatoes, citrus
    4 Carbonated water
5 Caffeine (especially on an empty stomach)
    6 Peppermint
    7 Chocolate
8 Peanut butter (not a trigger for everyone) - switch it up with other nut butters
9 Possibly dairy (dairy protein intolerance)
10 Alcohol (especially red wine and ciders)
