    Alex, I've seen so many of your videos and this is light years better than any of them! Golf is so complex a game in our heads, we need to dumb it down. This does that by producing feels that quickly become "reals." Increasing the lag angle and then holding the chest to release through first is an outstanding drill. The golf club is an instrument and you make it as easy as swinging a light baton. Please send out more videos on swing feel. GREAT STUFF.

    Super lesson. Amateur golfer’s are always getting stuck because of poor body rotation preventing this slinging motion you show and resulting in loss of posture and failure to complete the swing. Staying connected throughout the swing without getting to tight and stiff is a game changer.

    That gap between wrist and forearm is a great tip. Makes so much sense and easy to understand. I am a golfer of very limited hip movement I struggle to clear . The pulling or pushing (depends how described) of the back swing forwards is very difficult for me. This though looks doable. Range today and give it a go.. Thumbed up.

    You described my plight of the last 15 years in the first 90 secs. After that....I was one hand hitting balls into the net...my front hip WAS turning out of the Way - it just did it - as it knew the whipping motion was coming on.... This worked.

    You coach in a way that works for me. You express the feel of the swing with minimal technical information to not over analyze the athletic movement. Your description is what I am working on and experiencing. Your delivery of instruction is exceptionally communicated. Ball flight is a draw for me. Working the ball both ways is a goal for next season.

    This is very much in-line with the recommendations of Mike Malaska... so I know this works. It's 5 degrees and snowy where I am, but I am chomping at the bit to get out there in the spring and work on this very thing. I had made a few changes to my grip at the end of the season that correspond to this sort of thought process and feel, so I'm really excited to see the fruits bear out in the summer. Great video.

    Really, really insightful video mate. Perfect length vid & focus on just 3 key points (as a sidebar, I did a Training course years ago for my work on Adult Workplace Training and the course stated repeatedly that Adults can only really learn/retain knowledge when a Training session contains no more than 3 key concepts - I found thru years of experience that this is absolutely true 😉). Anyway, I can’t wait to practice these drills as I constantly struggle to clear the body (amongst a number of other issues!!). God job 👏

    Great video Alex! I have been using your recommendation of heavy arms and supple wrists plus feeling the club head. However, on the last few rounds I got too "handsy" and my scores suffered. Yesterday, I decided to take the hands out of the equation and concentrate on the wrists and arms. My back nine was nine strokes better than the front. Keep up the good work! It certainly is helping me!!!

  • @grandpagolf

    IMO, the main issue in golf comes from so many features, articles, videos published about 'the perfect backswing' and other similar topics like 'turning the hips back', etc. The one and only important tip should be 'focus on the follow-through', given the trailing arm makes its job correctly, i.e. does not straighten before impact.

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with that… it’s not 100% all that’s required though. And a fair amount of work is needed to undo the crazy confusion in folks

    This is dead on. I also played tennis, at a pretty high level for years. It’s so similar to a top spin forehand, it isn’t funny. In golf, I think the problem lies with that tiny white ball, and that tiny clubface. It’s just hard for people to swing freely, without feeling like they’re gonna mishit it. However, guiding everything with tension only creates more problems. Swing the club like you do when you practice swing. Just allow the ball to be placed where it simply gets in the way. Sounds easy……lol
