How do you feel when you have a fairway wood in hand... Confident? fear of topping it, duffing it? Let me know below! ! If you want to rip them effortlessly.. this lesson is for you! Thanks for watching, liking and sharing my friends!
Started this game for about 6 months now, evolving with driver and irons gradually on track, but not with wood… for me it’s just too hard to hit…topping or low left…..so in golf course, I prefer using iron for safer approach shot..I really hope I can hit it sooner…
I had never performed driver off the deck in my entire golfing career. I was on a par 5 last week and had 235 left. I had been hitting so pure, so I applied this philosophy by giving the driver a go. I was nervous as hell and decided to hit maybe 60 percent. What do you know, I sent that ball right on the green and I did it the following day with ease. People make golf so complicated. Let the body do its thing naturally, as well as the club. No need to kill!
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf: Just used my 3 woods after 6 months mostly just sitting on golf bag. Twice it flew which I didn’t believe What I saw, once for shot 2 long par 4, and from tee of a long par 3. It flew for the first time since tenth of topped, thinned low left shots. I still don’t believe I can hit it…Thanks!!
Alex, I've gotten fairly proficient with hitting precise the majority of the time due to lots of practice and attention to detail. But, since stumbling upon your videos, the simplicity you have brought to the table with your instruction has taken me to the upper echelon. The idea of staying loose, letting the body pull back and then getting through and clearing out of the way became the golden nugget for me. When you learn to stay put, let your body pull back and naturally rotate and then swing through without tension, it does wonders. I hit purer and better than ever. And the truth is, I don't have to try to kill it. The club does the work for me. Love your content buddy. You are probably the best instructor on here and there are very good one's. Thanks for making it simple buddy!
Well that is tremendous! Thank you kindly. It's exactly the goal of these videos. It scratches the surface of what's possible and why we have the digital programs, online lessons and membership too... but I am so glad you are getting the results and feels you want. Keep at it sir! 🏆
Great video Alex! I grew up "sweeping" the fairway woods, so I was surprised to hear you advocating this! Now, most instructors recommend "hitting down" on any shot not on a tee peg! I much prefer your method! Keep up the good work! Always enjoy your "free and easy" approach to the game!
Marvelous. Yes, too much focus is on down and AT rather than a swing through. It’s blend of course but too many struggling needlessly. Thanks for kind words!
Great advice again. I will try it again. Tension is a killer in Golf and in Live. I been making small swings before hitting it to make sure I' sweep the ball. It was working. Now I will try the half swing. Thanks Alex!!! It's a practice day!!!!
Thx Alex. My first comment on a youtube video ever. But I feel compelled to tell you: For me, you address exactly the right challenges of my swing and golf game. Thx
Great instruction. I really appreciate your relaxed approach to golf. Finding I'm not nearly as tired after a round now that I'm not fighting my way around the course.
Great video man. I am a scratch handicap, but as a big thick guy my main struggle is clearing and getting through the ball, I tend to get stuck and hang back more than I wish. Going to give this feel a try
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf I appreciate the reply.. yeah that is something i work on as well, especially in cold conditions when all layered up, "getting through the shot" gets harder and harder. My best swinging days tend to be when I am setup a little open which helps everything get clear.. but its hard not to get addicted to the extra distance from the draw a square stance encourages.
What's a scratch golfer doing trying to get tips from the art of simple golf vids? I thought these are mainly for average Joe's like me trying to get some consistency.
@@keithcresswell9746 Some of us are scratch golfers "in spite" of our swings rather than "because of them" haha... I still spray it, i just make up for it with a good short game, and a few long balls of the tee when I can find the fairway haha
Perfect timing!! My main goal this winter season was to pure woods off the decks. I have basically given up on my 5 wood for this exact reason. Tension to try and kill it.
I've hit my fairway woods great ever since I started playing, but I hate hybrids for some reason. Zero tension is the key, ball placement crucial, and a relaxed body AND mind swinging through, is the essence of the golf swing. Your lessons have helped me put the exclamation points on my game. Well done again my friend!!
Excellent explanation Alex! That’s the most detail I’ve seen on a fairwoods video. Is there a tip for completing the finish - I have trouble when I keep my arms straight through the ball, folding them after to finish. It’s like they’re locked in a straight position. I noticed you kept them straight as well, instead of folding over shoulder.
Well thank you! That was more just for the demo of the positive release… and I hurt my SI joint a couple of weeks ago so still a little fragile :) Feel like lead shoulder is pulled up and around to complete. With supple arms it should without much afford. You are perhaps holding on to strikebreaker lead arm too much. This should help th-cam.com/video/P_rMJxVixgg/w-d-xo.html
J'adore, je vais essayer, d'abord sur le practice et ensuite sur le terrain ! Si j'y arrive je l'utiliserais pour tous mes coups, enfin seul ceux qui le nécessite ! Grand merci pour cette aide.
Alex, do you have a video addressing any fundamental differences between driving off a tee versus fairway shots with irons or fairway woods/hybrids? Thanks!
You must have known I was out practising with my 3 wood and wedge. And yes I should have watch this video first. Great tip. Try not to tense up, which I do and big club big hit, trying to get that out of my head. Wish me luck 🙏
Thank you for stressing about Tension , it's the most important part of a golf swing ,no doubt about it! I hear so often swing slower and softer and the ball will go further without any effort, what they really mean is have no tension in your body , that could be my biggest thought in my mind when I address the ball is try to be tension free!! Anyway I hope you understood what I stated, broad statement we can go on and on about which body part and how much pressure or tension you should have, but again it depends on the individual golfer!! Just try to feel free in your practice swing and at address ,so important!! thanks again !
Correct! It’s also what feels you have. A little bit of tension/preparedness in the core and legs to fire can help. But yes.. tension kills most swings. Keep at it!
Sounds reasonable, my question is, “what leads the swing; body or hands?” Often times when I concentrate on turning thru I find that I turn my body ahead of my hands and either pull the shot left or hit a weak fade.
All my clubs are dead, I choked them to death. To say my grip pressure is excessive is an understatement. If I focus on nothing else this upcoming golf season it will be to loosen up my tension in every facet of my game.
@@TheArtofSimpleGolf that’s my main problem, there is nothing supple about me as I am an avid weight lifter so hands, wrists, forearms, shoulders, back, chest, abs, neck and anything else associated with a golf swing. I find myself being relaxed for a swing or 2 then really tight for a few and so on. Just wanna work on my preshot routine to incorporate more relaxing to help keep all of the excess tension at bay.

Please do try it.. stick with it for a week or two to give yourself a chance to find the blend for you

For sure.
