      Thank very much for your video about short swing. I was having back problems, and pain. As a senior golfer that began playing golf at age 50, I was trying to perform full back swing in order to get more distance. But since I watch your video I practice my new short back swing at home, and I realized that it can be easily perform so I will enjoy a lot more years of playing golf without hurting my body.

    As a rule I never, ever compliment online swing coaches…well, until today. I’ve been playing about 30 years, and I tried this technique today. It works throughout the bag (wedges, min-irons, hybrids, and driver). You actually know what you are doing, and I thank you sincerely. I have subscribed to your channel. Thanks again.

    I’ve given up on golf ⛳️ two times in my life. The last time I left the game I became a runner and ran fourteen marathons and thirty scored half marathons. The pandemic has been good for me. I’ve written extensively about the golf swing. So now I will never again give up on golf. I was missing the cornerstone of the swing that you explained. The straightening of the arms on the backswing and follow through.

    This is very good thank you. Somehow I got to this shortening regime myself last year and my golf, distances and accuracy improved dramatically. But I didn't see any coaches advocating this method. Since then I have tried more to lengthen my swing- always wanting more!!! and the accuracy and consistency went down hill. So it's back to the range again to get those short swing basics engrained. Especially now I have your lesson to turn to. Many thanks.

    If I try anything past a half swing, it will cause me to top/fat/miss the ball. So I’m m glad to see this video.
    I find it fascinating how your effortless swing at 12.55 sends it further than I can hit a PW with best effort 😟
    I’ve only been playing a few months and I’ve found your videos the best to follow. I do believe though that I’m just never going to get any good distances.
    My 6 iron maxes out at about 130 - 140. I’ve tried the suggestions in your videos. I do weight shift and have light wrists etc. if I can just hit the ball more than 50% of the time, I’ll settle for that.
    Low expectations, but that’s about being realistic I think.
    Again, thanks for the videos they help.

    This swing is so easy to do, and its more consistent, more balls on the green, just go down a club eg 150 yards i usually hit an 8iron with a full swing, and miss the green left or right, but using this short swing with a 7 iron, i am peppering the flag and not exerting myself to much, and its so satisfying

    I have been trying to shorten the backswing, but not like this.
    I am trying to push/extend my arms back, away from target, instead of up behind my back. It helps keep my left arm straight and flattens my (normally steep) swing. Seems to help ☝🏻

      More often than not, very little change because the strike is solid more frequently. And more efficient

    Alex, at 4.40 I just need to understand.. from that position, is it a case of then the arms taking the club head to the top ? Or arm stays as it is, so then a turn of the torso takes the club head up ?

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately it depends. What feel do you like. Most likely the result is the same. If you are across the line at the top it may be because too much torso turn too late.
      But I do like a little more torso led completion

    Great video, one question though,
    Do you recommend the use of some wristcock or wrist hinge at the top to get a little more power and to slightly add a little more backswing without lifting and separating the arms from the body.

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Allow with supple wrists but do not force it. Otherwise over hinge can lead to casting etc
