    If I remember correctly in Tiger’s old book he said that he felt from the top like he was pushing his left hip in a straight line at 45 degrees left of his target line, ie towards 10:30 on the clock 👍

    You make the BEST videos. The way you break things down and explain things are fantastic. Lots of great instructions out there BUT they don’t explain things the way you do. Your videos have helped me a great deal with my ball striking. Cheers from NYC!!

    Great, great lesson. This is precisely what ails so many of we weekend warriors. Never forget people...in all of the great lessons/thoughts /ideas given by Chris and others....make no mistake, you're gonna have to practice and ingrain these feelings into your golf swing to where they become second nature. A mere five minutes at home the wife calls you for dinner aint gonna do it.

    Yet another awesome video!!! If you notice what happens in "early extension", you'll see the right heel come up off the ground too soon. One of the ideas I try to express to my students is to try to keep the right heel flat on the ground through impact. It's just another way of thinking about what takes place during the downswing. A lot of my students are over 60 so sometimes this athletic move is difficult. You're young!! Wait a few years, Chris. It sneaks up on you. Your videos are terrific. Keep up the great work.

    As an early extender with the occasional shank i set the hosel at address behind the ball which forced me to keep my rear end back on the "wall" in the downswing.

    I was practicing with the ball way forward, even with my lead foot for my irons. I started playing that way taking a normal stance with the ball forward. Really helps me get my hips thru and finish with my weight on my lead leg and having a really nice follow thru. Getting really great compression, extremely far and straight. Can't wait for the course to open in the spring.

    My ball striking got better and hcp came down when i got this concept of lower body action.But ive improved even more now i stretch/sway my upper chest slightly which gives me my lateral to get to my left side,now regularly shooting close to par and im 63!

    Hey Chris, does the rotation of the left hip back pull the club down? I feel the left hip going back which in combination shifting the weight to the lead side. This in turn swings the “Passive” arms in my swing; however, I also feel max club head speed is limited.

  • @JavierTorres-nn8uk
    @JavierTorres-nn8uk 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I’m a little confused
    I thought that in transition you go down to 2 o clock
    And then rotate until a nice delivery position and then
    the club head goes down and the grip, hip and shoulder up
    Please let me know anything
    Thank you Chris
    Happy new year

    Thanks Chris. So that would mean a person should restrict hip rotation on the backswing if they can ?

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Personally I like golfers to allow their hips to rotate fairly freely as I think it helps create more length in the swing, however it does mean that this concept is even more important

    Another feel and good thing to add is when you shift "forward" feel the weight going into your lead FOOT. Not just to your lead side. This will further help from early extending and gets the club working down to the ball and not outwards. Not to mention the extra distance it seems to create.
    Haha my visual is there is a stink bomb under my foot and I have to break it before I can start my downswing. The old stink bombs from back in middle school that was made from thin glass or plastic. 😂. Those dudes would clear a room in a heart beat! Now just has to clear my lower half out of the way.

    Did I hear you right. More hip rotation = less flexibility? I would like you to expand on that Chris ?

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Simon, yes those who are less flexible in most cases require more rotation of the hips in order to complete a full backswing. Younger golfers can often get to the top with very little hip turn at all, but for just a little more is required

    When I do this drill of pushing my lead hip back, my feel is that my arms are just ‘waving’ at the ball. No power. What am I most likely doing wrong?

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Possibly making that move too early, ensure you shift the pressure fist the work the hips back

  • @charlesmccormick2625
