    if you take it in for the recall repair and the tires are already damaged they will replace the tires for free. if they say no, make a fuzz about it. they will give up eventually

    Im glad someone else is talking about the sticky wheel feeling when driving at higher speeds. Yes my lane assist is off because its annoying as hell! Had the dealer inspect for the recall and they said it was fine. Not affected by recall. But damn that sticking wheel shit is kinda pissing me off honestly...

    • @camerongarrett5702
      @camerongarrett5702 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They told me the same thing but my steering wheel has gotten noticeably worse so I’m beginning to think that they only I was fine because they didn’t wanna replace it. However I did read that it could also be because your tires need air and when I checked I definitely needed air and after putting in air the problem got a little better

      That's not the recall, it's an entirely different issue. Just my steering rack replaced due to it.

    My 22 Sport was a nightmare. After the fourth or fifth time the it tried to launch me off of the interstate at 70+ early last year and the dealership “couldn’t replicate” the issue after leaving it there four separate times, I traded it in for a CRV last April. I couldn’t wait around for them to issue the recall, I had to chuck it. I feel bad for whoever ended up with it bc it had other issues, but all of it was in Honda’s system, so that’s on them 🫢 I wanted to love Civic so much, it broke my heart to part ways!
    Interestingly enough, some of the 23/24 CRVs are having the exact same steering rack issue now!

    • @juannevindez6969

    There’s another issue with “sticky steering “ the wheel locks in turns and won’t recenter with out forced correction , it’s on Tons of 11th gen SI , it has a defective steering rack and is on 5 months back order says Hona Corporate, I’m even reading comments it’s on the 24 type Rs and Integeras.

    Wanted to thank you so much this weekend for your help via messaging. I had a weird issue with my car staying on accessory mode after I shut it off or coming on after I left the vehicle. This killed my battery and all functions of the car went absolutely nuts!! After hours of stress, I figured out the battery was only at 4 volts so I jump stated it to at least get it running. I am bringing it into Honda this Friday (2024 Civic Sport Hatch). I will follow up with the fix! You are a true gent!

    My 22 Civic LX with 28000 kms on it had sticking steering in late November 23...Took it to a local Honda dealer north of Toronto Ontario who claimed the steering rack was defective ie the rack and pinion...Parts took 2 weeks to come in and the car was dropped off for the full day..The job was done and the steering is fine now...I am sure this recall will shake the Honda reputation .....Never did get a recall notice in the mail.

    I think we got our recall notice before the holidays. I don't check our mail often either and I didn't open it until just after the new year. The local dealer didn't even know about it at first. They recommended making an appointment for it sometime in the next few weeks.

    Happened to me on my 23 civic, on highway speeds wheels would lock up when I would try to make minor corrections, made the car so annoying to drive. I was fighting with my dealer for a while before the recall came in. They kept telling me nothing was wrong. Finally got it fixed, and haven't had an issue since.

    My sons 2022 Civic is going in tomorrow to have it checked for this recall. He just told me today his dash is lit up like a Christmas tree and it started yesterday including all of his assist lights showing they're all shut off and he never turned any of them off. I told him to call before his appt and tell them they need to check those lights too while its in. Hoping it's nothing to serious. He bought the car brand new in Dec 2021.

    2022 hatchback touring here.. I've avoided all these issues so far.
    1) Hatchback leaks like crazy during the rain due to gasket issues..many had it.. I didnt.
    2) Sticky steering wheel - Steering sticks when trying to turn the wheel while driving.. Dont have it
    3) The one in your hand.. never had the issue.
    I never got a single recall paper for like, any of this stuff. But they did recall the sticky steering wheel issue I guess? Like you describe. it sticks as you turn the wheel pretty much. or if you drive 50+mph straight, and light finger the steering wheel, it sticks before it lets off and lets you drive..but like, again.. never experienced it. But, I got a friend who has it so badly his qualified under the recall for replacing the steering rack. the part numbers on the rack was in the list of cars that had the wrong ones installed..woops
    There was a huge poll on a forums for people who did/didnt have the sticky steering issue and so many people reported it to honda that they finally did something about it.

    '23 civic hatchback, I turned off my lane assist because it was very annoying to have the car "tell me" how to drive, but also because it was weird when it came to assisting. There were times when it would think that the black tar repair lines on the road were the lane, and it would try and bump me in the wrong direction. Not safe at all! But I did notice when I drive and I'm on the highway and I try and make smooth, slow lane change, the steering is "jumpy". It's weird and annoying, but I have not received a recall yet. We will shall see. Keep up the videos! I'm looking forward to seeing what honda tells you about the recall.

      Only affects people up to August 2023 civics. It has nothing to do with lane keep assist. It's a steering rack issue

  • @Edgonecrazy
    @Edgonecrazy 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I don't know if this information is useful or not. I own a 2022 Honda Civic Sport sedan with less than 30,000 miles. I received the letter explaining about the recall. Now the problem I have is on straight roads going at least 35MPH or higher my steering wheel feels like it's stiff or "lock" almost like lane keep assist activated without warning me. As long as the steering wheel is moving the "locking issue" doesn't happen but if the road is straight enough and the steering wheel is center not moving at all it. It will stiffs/locks up and I have to put in effort to loosen or stop lane keep assisting from activating on its own. I still have the issue when lane keep assist is on or off. Now even though this problem is different according to Honda this problem is common on civics and its now a TSB. I do not know if I'm the only one experiencing this issue or not. But I was told by Honda that the steering locking issue is a TSB, and the steering column has to be replaced. My civic passed the recall standards but it didn't passed this TSB issue that Honda has.

    I just hit 5k miles on my 23 ex-l hatchback, hoping my service light comes on soon so I can get this recall taken care of with the free service all in one go. I've found that the lane keep assist has always preferred the left side of the lane more than I'm comfortable with and hardly use it. I turned off the lane departure wheel shake because it doesn't consistently handle certain lane merges or splits in my area and I have to fight it daily. Then there's the adaptive cruise control. I can have a car cross by my lane from one side to the other, far in front of me, and it will slam on the brakes randomly when the car crosses. All of these extra features that I felt would make the car safer, make it feel out of control and unpredictable at times. They aren't refined and sophisticated enough for me to justify the extra cost they bring. Other than that, I like everything else the car. I'm glad the dealership was out of hrv's at the time and that I got the hatchback instead.

Went to another dealership for an oil change and brought it up if they can inspect the steering rack and told me it’s fine. I’m having major problems with my 2022 Honda civic. The steering is affected when lane assist is turned on. Whenever there is a heavy rainfall , the car collects water on the right side . It feels like I have a huge water bottle in the trunk swishing around. I purchased my civic during the height of COVID when they were only giving dealers limit amount of cars per dealer. Will contact my attorney concerning a cash out towards another vehicle.

    Aloha, Jason! I hope you and uour ohana/family are having a safe, happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
    I haven't gotten any recall notices. Maybe because I don't have my HR-V Sport yet. Hopefully this year, after the big changes. My neighbors don't check their mail either, and our big shared mailbox gets full a lot. But it has a lock, so it's more secure.
    I hope nobody has any problems affected by this recall, and have it inspected and corrected for anyone that needs it. It could be worse. Sone cars have a defective nut that connects the steering wheel to the driver's seat. :😂

Just took mine in for same "sticky steeering issue" Interesting I only find it occuring on longer trips ie prolonged highways trips greater than 1 hour.
