Thank you there amazing I used 2 percent milk I used old fashioned oats old fashioned natural peanut butter the difference is I let it boil for a minute and a half and let it make a softball which is achieved buy dripping into cold water to create a softball it is yummy thank you for the recipe again
I was waiting to see a close-up of the inside to get a visual of the moistness of the fudgie consistency. Thank you for the wonderful video. I'll have to make some❤️🥳
Me either, I have like 10 versions of this recipe, but have not seen the 2 kinds of sugar used in them…they look just like mine though, and I’m sure they are delicious too. Brown sugar is basically white sugar with a bit of molasses in it, so I’m not surprised that we can interchange the sugars in them. They are such a quick and delicious dessert.
Oh, wow, Sam! I just made this exact same recipe a couple days ago! I LOVE these! But I spoon the mixture into a buttered 8x8 pan and cut them into squares. I cooked the mixture an additional 30 seconds so it would set up property. They are delicious!
I LOVE every oats: bread, cookies and muffins. I make a similar cookie, also make them without the cocoa and a third way, without the peanut butter. And with nuts when I have them. Delish!
Does it get any better or easier than no bake cookies!!..other than quick & easy & yummy, they are also pretty healthy.. one of the snacks i made for my 5 quite often. I do use jiff xtra crunchy peanut butter because I like peanuts!! And sometimes i would add coconut for a different twist..so when we have a get together with my kids and my grandkids there is no question about it..Grandma will have no bake cookies for all to enjoy. Thank you for your cooking show..I really enjoy you and your recipes..you have a great personality and presentation..Teresa
Actually my original recipe from my 1980 White Rose Cookbook (or perhaps it’s my Purity Cookbook, I forget now!) it lists “1 cup of coconut” as well as “3 cups of oats” and NO peanut butter added. I made it this way for years and years, and then I started to see peanut butter added to it and no coconut in them. Regardless, they are amazing cookies. I even saw one video tonight where she pours it all on a large cookie sheet, lets it cool down, and then cuts them in bars. Have not tried it that way yet though….same recipe as yours minus the brown sugar! :)
I’ve been making these forever, but the first time I see 1 cup of white and 1 cup of brown sugar. Mine states 2 c of white sugar. It’s good to know b/c you never know when you run out of one sugar that they are interchangeable within the recipe. They look just like mine, nice and shiny. **ladies, if you over cook them, they will be dry and crumbly. The taste is the same pretty much, but done the right way, they have a nice chewiness to them…best of luck…super good.
This is how I was taught to make them and they are one if my favorites! My oldest grandson makes these but uses semi sweet chocolate chips. They come out very yummy 😋 too! Tfs and God Bless 🥰 💜
Sam, I used to make them starting at the age of 7(with adult standing by 😉).... My Gramma always put about 2Tlbs.of Corn Syrup in the mix, too 😁...I guess for "glossiness"??? Lol....not sure why, but I've always added that 😉....and I've never used Brown Sugar; just white sugar. I'm really liking the combo you use, 1/2 granulated & 1/2 brown sugar, to your recipes. Gives recipes a more "Rich" flavor. I LOVE the taste of brown sugar 🤎😁😉
Love these Cookies! My mom use to make them all the time when I was Young. 💜💜 I use to get the pan when she was done. I’d tryin scrape it out the best I could. Cause by then the Chocolate was hardened against the sides. Lol
The way these cookies look, put me in the mind of my homemade chocolate covered roasted salted sunflower seed clusters, which also takes about 20 minutes to make. This no-bake cookie recipe, looks like a must try, I will try and devour! 😂😋SMACK-A-LICIOUS!!!
I changed a few things to this recipe. I added cacao butter, almond butter, coconut flakes, coconut extract , dark chocolate and almonds for topping. I got almond joy no bakes!!! They are wonderful!!!
OK so I just made these and I’m waiting on them to get to the point where I can portion them out. I have been stirring and I have arthritis and my elbow is now hurting but I hope these cookies turn out really well lol. I am hoping for the best. When my kids were little, they called these cookies cow patties. 😂
@@SugarSpunRun lol ikr but they turned out really well and taste very very good. Thank you for the recipe. I appreciate you for reminding me that I used to make those.
Hey!!! I'm just learning about your channel and love your content! I'm a midwest native, and the trademark cake around here is a Gooey Butter cake. Could you instruct us on how you would make it? The southern Buttermilk pie is also an amazing dish. Thanks!
Oh yeah?! That's so awesome, thanks! I'm looking forward to your take on this dish! A few tips to point you in the right direction! There are a few ways to make it, but the best way is to make the Gooey Butter cake layer rich, and creamy with a thinner spongy crust. The more filling, the better, and don't overcook; it dries too easy. I bet that it would be great with a graham cracker or shortbread crust, too! Combining apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and mace in a skillet will take it to another level! Lemon is also a great flavor!
Hey man! Thanks for the heads up!😎 I just seen the video, and was completely wowed with how fast she responded, and how easy she made it! She's a real doll! I haven't watched any of her content because, I'm completely focused on my weight training, 48 hours of fasting, and super strict diet. I am so excited to make it on the 4th of July weekend when I give myself a chance to over indulge! Lol!!! 😂😂😂
Yum, and I cannot wait to try these, but was wondering can I use rolled oats instead of the quick oats? I always have the rolled on hand, that's why I am asking. TFS
I made these before and they are so good. Someone once told me that you shouldn't make this on a rainy day because they won't set. I don't know if that's true though
I always boil mine for 2 minutes, not 1 and stir until there is no gloss in the chocolate anymore and then I pour them into a 8X8 pan lines with parchment paper.
Yes! Place them in a single layer on a cookie sheet or plate and let them firm up in the fridge for a few hours. Once they’re firm, you can transfer them to a freezer bag and freeze. 😊
I make these every year at Christmas time. This Is the first time I’ve seen a recipe using part light brown sugar. Does it make a difference in taste instead of using all white sugar?
I want to add not only coconut but pecans and white chocolate chips as well. I'm looking for a recipe that will support the extra ingredients. Any advice?
@@SugarSpunRun Thank you for your response, I have experimented with the boiling times to no avail, recently out of three attempts 1 turned out good, why I have no clue, yes I suppose I’m an idiot, but getting them to setup is elusive to me for some reason, they usually turn out gooey and sticky🤷♂️
@@SugarSpunRun I tried again today, got the cream of tartar you told me about, got a thermometer, added the 2 tablespoons of milk in the mixture, followed your instructions exactly and you hooked me up IT WORKED!!!!! Thank You!!👍👍

It’s my own special twist 😊
I've never made them with brown sugar. Sounds good.

They do have a habit of disappearing 😅

Wow very quick one. I love cockies & gonna try this 🥰🥰🥰
Have fun!
Mmm that is mouth watering Sugar thank you so much

So yummy. A blast from the past. Good work
Thank you 😋
It reminds me of Little Debbie's cookies! And they still make it! My mom is not that crazy about it! But I do! They are good!
Let me know if you try them 😊
First! Looks like a very easy recipe!
It really is!
Love these cookies thank u for the recipe
You're welcome ❤
Yum!
These look so YUMMY!!!
They are!
We don't add peanut butter but love them
They're great either way 🙂
Mashallah very nice recipe mashallah beautiful
Thank you 😊
Yum, and I cannot wait to try these, but was wondering can I use rolled oats instead of the quick oats? I always have the rolled on hand, that's why I am asking. TFS
I always use old fashioned rolled oats.
My preference is to use instant or quick oats because they yield a chewier, more compact cookie. You can still use rolled oats though!
yummmm 😁
Hi Sam. Love your show.
Thanks for watching ❤️
Use Coconut Oil instead of Butter and Crunchy Peanut Butter....
If you don't have Crunchy PB you can use toasted Pecans or Almonds instead
I made these before and they are so good. Someone once told me that you shouldn't make this on a rainy day because they won't set. I don't know if that's true though
They're very sensitive to humidity. I actually talk about this in my blog post 😊
I always boil mine for 2 minutes, not 1 and stir until there is no gloss in the chocolate anymore and then I pour them into a 8X8 pan lines with parchment paper.
I like mine a bit softer but I'm glad you found a way that works for you :)
Hi Sam😄✨❤️!
We’ve been making these for the last 50 years in my family. I don’t make them anymore because they are way too addictive!!🐷🐷🐷
They're a classic! 😊
Thanks for taking me down memory road. My grandma used to make these when I was a kid! One question for you - Can these be frozen?
Yes! Place them in a single layer on a cookie sheet or plate and let them firm up in the fridge for a few hours. Once they’re firm, you can transfer them to a freezer bag and freeze. 😊
Yum..something even I wont be able to mess up lol
Check out my blog post for some extra tips 😊
I make these every year at Christmas time. This Is the first time I’ve seen a recipe using part light brown sugar. Does it make a difference in taste instead of using all white sugar?
Yes 🙂
It definitely does! Give it a try this Christmas 😊
How do you store them?
In an air tight container at room temperature. :)
Thanks so much I was looking for recipe with no milk mine just went bad :(
You will need milk here unfortunately. 😔
Wondering about adding coconut…?
Go for it! Just stir it in at the end when you add the oats. Don’t add too much (no more than a cup).
I want to add not only coconut but pecans and white chocolate chips as well. I'm looking for a recipe that will support the extra ingredients. Any advice?
I'm not sure how this one would hold up. That is a good bit of add-ins. Let me know how it goes if you do try it.
I make these also, but have never used brown sugar before. Does it make them sweeter?
It gives them another level of flavor and makes them a little more rich. :)
Can the peanut butter be substituted or left out. Have a grandchild that can’t have peanut butter.
I wondered the same. My daughter can’t have peanut butter
I would think you could easily use another nut butter if the person isn’t allergic to the nut butter as well.
Thanx for replying.
Yes! I've made them without cocoa too. So 1 recipe, 3 ways. Or 5, lol with nuts or coconut.
Yes! You can leave it out or substitute another nut or seed butter. 😊
Can i use only 1 cup of sugar?
I haven't personally tried it so I can't say for sure how it would work for you.
What are they called? Oatmeal candy cookies?
No bake cookies 😊
Super easy recipe! Does not work well with old fashioned rolled oats lol! They taste good, but the mouth feel is waaaay off.
Agreed, my preference is instant or quick oats!
Can someone please tell me why I have such a problem getting these to set up and not be gooey?
Most likely humidity, even rain can affect the outcome. Try boiling a minute longer.
