ive watched quite a few of your vids, serious question, with the amount of altering things. would it almost be easier to take a 5.0 from an explorer and throw it in w new edge?

Stand alone ecu and thats not a hard or expensive swap. I have been working with the V6 to purposefully investigate the known information and pursue the unknown information with this vehicle. As of my introduction to the car in 2015 there was >10% Information on the 2005-2008 essex v6 models swap interchangeability with 3.8s and I have been working diligently in that playing feild since. Thats why most of my information is either new, or more in depth than past information sources, is because im doing this purely for new engine platform information now.

@@MustangV6TechSupport yea, i totally thought about all that after the fact, ur name is v6 tech support for a reason, haha ive just dug thru ur videos because i keep goin back n forth between droppin a 4.2 in my 04 or a 5.0/5.8. ive done a v8 swap on a 2000 ranger 3.0 and it actually ended up being way easier than i expected, swapped a few wires n boom she fired right up. i dont really see why it would be any harder in a new edge

      Dorman 47099 vaccum retainer bushing.
Put a tiny dab of rtv on replacement non OEM IMRC bushings to prevent the arm from falling out again

Is it safe to assume that the 3.8 bare block weights more or less the same?

I would say the 3.8 weighs

Safe to assume give or take 5lbs same weight the 4.2 is just made more heavy duty. Oil galley bore, coolant galley bore, main caps are mostly the difference between blocks.
