I think this is what's wrong with my car. You're a gentleman and a scholar paradox!

i used very small zip ties on the tip of the metal arms (where those bushings would go), and they have never fallen out. I think this works better than those crappy bushings.

My car reached 180 000 miles a couple months ago. This is the first time I encountered with this issue. Thanks

I have yet to have this issue, Just here to learn what the IMRC is for - My 3.8 is at essentially 400K miles. I always advocate for this engine

You struggled a bit there didn't you? Now imagine the rest of us who did this with the lower air intake still bolted on.

Hey great video man. I want to get a bit more power out of my track 00 v6 mustang and I’m wondering how to go about removing those intake runner butterfly systems because it seems they are an air flow restriction. I imagine it would make it run lean at idle but that’s something I’m sure I could tune out with a fuel map on a different ecu.

How were you able to pull the thing out lol ? Im honestly struggling cause the heater core hose from the front and rear wont give me space to pull the whole mainfold out. I just cracked a heater hose too lol smh 🤦🏽‍♂️Thank you

Would it be safe to drive to the shop if one of the metal levers fell out of the mount? Or would I need a tow? Great video!

I drove for a bit with it out (not saying it's good), picked up a pack of bushings for 6 bucks at auto store, waited till the engine cooled down and got back there with some needle pliers and a bit of blind luck.

Found you from facebook....I suspect this could be my issue...one bank is 9% lean at idle LTFT and other is only around 3% lean....makes sense that this would cause leaner mixture because the MAF is reporting a certain amount of air and the fuel injectors respond to that but if they are open at idle when they should be closed it is basically unmetered air and not enough fuel is Injected to make up for it...
I wonder if this is causing my actual issue which is slight shaking felt at idle...it is a minor shake felt

All sensors, fuel and spark good but getting a single bank lean with a studder misfire due to tune can almost gaurantee this is the issue. Due to its placement, this is an extremely common and overlooked maintainance issue on all 99+ v6 platform 100k-200k miles

@@MustangV6TechSupport only other thing I haven't 100% ruled out is fuel injectors....only way to really rule that out is to look at them....I ran about 5 tanks of fuel injector cleaner through the tank but I think most of those are snake oil and/or can't really clean up really caked up injectors like you could if you take them off and clean them....
I'm taking the plenum off this weekend and will report back

Yesss but requires tape on your finger so you don’t drop the y baby plastic clips and use a small mirror where you can see

You would think some sort of e clip or cotter pin to hold the rod in place but nope

Would it make a sound like rod knock when these fail?
