Hi Dane I passed my test on my fourth try (I was someone who had learners permit for years and didn’t continuously stick with driving like I should have) . I watched a lot of your videos before passing and it made such a difference, I remembered so many little tips and tricks on the day that I wouldn’t have remembered if I had not been studying your videos. Anyone reading this who feels like they will never pass , you will! Unfortunately sometimes you have bad luck on the day even if you are a good driver so don’t let it knock you! Dane, will definitely donate and recommend your videos thanks so much 😀
Passed my test first time today thanks to Dane !! Such an achievement first time .. couldn't of done it without the help of these videos ☺️ Thanks so much Dane! Keep up the great videos.
I just passed my driving test first time and you played a massive part in it Dane , anyone who is lucky enough to find your channel will benefit so much from what you have to say, thank you so much and I wish you so much luck for the future, God bless you my friend 😀
Great tips Dane. I don't think I have encountered the third situation you discribed but I am still unsure where to be positioned when Turning right on an unmarked junction?
Hi Dane, love your videos. Just wanted to ask. If I was the red car waiting at the line to turn right onto the main road, and that blue car coming from the right was indicating left to turn into the minor road do I wait until the blue car has actually turned into the minor road before going? I noticed some people will go straight away after seeing the indicator even if the car doesn't look like it has slowed down much yet, but I tend to wait until the car has slowed and looks like it's turning. I've been stuck behind a few people lately who drive with their indicators on by mistake or forget to turn them off.
Hey Dane great video! I have a question, on a t-juction that when on a hill and have to rev the car more, i rev to about 2500 on the hill and the engine gets really loud, I think I may be doing the car more damage reving the engine like that? I am a learner driver and I drive a 2005 Peugeot. Keep up the great work!
Great Videos Dane, I have a question, If i am at a T-Junction and turning right onto a two way lane , do i turn right onto the inside lane or the outside lane?
Hi I really enjoy your videos I was just wondering I’ve done 2 blocks of lessons and I’m still not driving on a main road yet I seem to go around the same are all the time Should the driving instructor be letting me drive from where I live or is it normal practice to be driven to a certain area I’m thinking maybe he feels I’m not ready but I feel confident enough
Hey Dane! I recently passed my driving test and I am now looking to apply for my full license. Do I need a medical report and eye test to do this ? Thanks a million for all the amazing information
Congratulations on your great news, you don't need an eyesight report if you have already done one for the learner permit. No medical report needed unless you have underlying issues. Check out www.ndls.ie for more information.
Hey Dane, great videos! I sometimes struggle with staying in my lane without driving more slightly to the left it more slightly to the right, have you any tips that could help with that?
This will improve as you gain more confidence and experience. You should try to line up the car with reference points such as the door handle in the left side mirror.
Hi Dane, i have two questions. I was just wondering in a narrow two way street, 1) where cars are mostly parked on the right hand side. On the day of my driving test if I were turn left into that road and there was a car, and there is no possible way for us to get past each other, what would I do? Would it be okay to reverse back? .2) In the same narrow street what if they’re are pedestrians on both side, is it okay to follow them from a distance behind if there is no space to clear them?.
Only reverse back as a last resort, just take your time and try to let the other car do the dirty work. Do you mean follow pedestrians that are on the road?
I don't know because it depends on the situation, it's very unusual and very unlikely that you'll have to reverse but if you do it safely then you should be OK. Try to be positive, it's not going to be helpful or practical to be scaring yourself with worse case scenario examples that'll probably never happen.
@@DaneTygheletsdrive Oh no, I got my full licence first go after only driving for 10 months. Passed the test in an Opel Insignia with poor rear visibility 😂 felt like a pro
@@DaneTygheletsdrive But I still learn something new from your videos everytime I watch, you can never learn enough about driving so they're a great help
I failed worst way it was my first exam . One thing I realised on test day do no practice more as my leg was so tired and in exam after start my rev was more and examiner gave in gear 7 grade 2 and 1 grade 3 and 1 grade 3 in handbrake although it never make any beep . In lane change I expend more time to see back so 1 more grade 3 . Lane change is big issue where left lane going left side and you have to come right and you have very less time to go right lane as test center in right lane
@@DaneTygheletsdrive 2 point in grade 2 in progression I could not understand how can grade 3 for gear and hand break. I got deatails after 2 hours , I know I was sick and last 2 days fever due to this I did some mistake but could not understand gade 3 in gear & handbreak . My 3 friends ( they had clear in 1st attempt)took my mock test and ask me I am good only problem in lane change
Mock tests are a waste of time and you won't learn anything. It does not matter what your 3 friends did, if they passed then they drove well, you didn't pass so you must have made mistakes. That's reality. Maybe you got gears mixed up and rolled back?
Hi Dane, experienced driver here but have genuine question. If in a queue of traffic with roadworks taking place up ahead, and there is an entrance like for example a non box junction, but no real traffic except somebody possibly wanting to turn into a parking space, I always try to leave them free but today when I did it, car behind beeped at me, annoyed that I didn't go the extra car length in front to be stopped behind the other car anyway. It's hard to describe what I mean, but basically is it illegal to stop in non box junctions
From what I understand you did nothing wrong and you showed good manners and courtesy for others. If someone beeped you then that says more about him than you. As for the rules of the road there is no specific information about this as its a bit of a grey area.
Hi Dane! I was watching your videos 4 days after my test. I failed my first test. I have a question that i wasnt able to answer in the technical question, how do you check if your handbrake is working? I wasnt able to answer that. And also if i can pass my scoresheet with you. Thanks! Good videos and this has helped me alot thats why i became a better driver.
Test your handbrake by applying it on a hill and if your car doesn't roll back in neutral then it works. Sorry to hear about your bad news but best wishes next time. Yes you can email me at danetyghe@gmail.com if you have any questions or if you want me to analyse your driving test report sheet.

Where do you think you should be positioned?
@@DaneTygheletsdrive Pretend there are road markings and stay in the right hand lane. I'm not 100% sure here
Do you not think you are risking being on the wrong side of the road doing that on an unmarked road?
@@DaneTygheletsdrive Yes of course. I think I should be on the left hand side of the road but with my right indicator on.
That sounds a bit better, best to keep left if unsure

Great Videos Dane, I have a question, If i am at a T-Junction and turning right onto a two way lane , do i turn right onto the inside lane or the outside lane?
I would imagine you'd start turning from the right lane on the minor road and then keep left on the road you're entering.
It would be great to watch if you could do the videos for various test routes :)
On my commentary drive videos they would cover the test routes in Wexford but I know what you mean, it would be a good idea.

Try to be positive, it's not going to be helpful or practical to be scaring yourself with worse case scenario examples that'll probably never happen.
The way I deal with junctions, if I have to ask myself do I have enough time before the oncoming car gets to me, I don't have enough time and wait.
Experience is what you need and that takes time.
