  • The Ultimate OEM Big Brake Upgrade for minimal cost goes on the Budget Build Civic Coupe Si. Hope you get some ideas of how you can improve your brakes for cheap with this video. If so let me know below in the comments.
    Parts used were:
    EV1 front brake calipers and carriers - Flip them side to side
    262MM compatible Knuckles / Hubs (4x100 PCD)
    MG ZS180 / ZR160 Front discs 282mm 4x100PCD
    EBC Yellow stuff pads to suit the EV1 Civic Caliper and Carrier (Pads for the car the calipers came from)
    The original brake lines/flexis can be used with this setup no issue.

    So I can confidently say, this upgrade was well worth the small amount extra it cost over just replacing the 262mm discs and oem pads with yellow stuff. It was only like an extra £20! And feels 10x better. These calipers are pretty damn cheap aswell on ebay etc and still fit under oem 15s unlike the ep3 300mm option 👍 Note, you will need to swap them from left to right to enable yhe bleeder to be at the top of the caliper when mounted on the EK EF DC and EG chassis! Thanks for watching

      Do you know if there’s a way to fit the ep3 front calipers with 15s for a ek? I’m running ex knuckle upgrade.

    Noob question, but for an EG5 would I need to get EK4 or DC2 front spindles/uprights to run these? I've heard to do the 262mm upgrade to begin with I need those spindles (which I don't).
    So if you're running the 262mm brakes already then this upgrade would be bolt on but if I'm NOT running the 262mm kit I'd need to make the switch first before I upgrade to these?
    Thanks!

    Sick video mate and quite timely as the brakes and discs need replacing on my 208 GTI. How have you found the EBC pads? I’ve seen quite a bit of negativity about them online.✌🏼

    • @Dan_AYP
      @Dan_AYP  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Noisy af on occasion, not had them on the edge yet though so I'm hopeful. My issue was they were the only pads about for the ev1 caliper but. They looked very similar to the ek9 dc2 and prelude backing plates so if they are, hawk hp+ pads are going in after. Id highly recommend those if you're still looking for pads mate 👍

    Can you use ep3 front calipers for a big brake upgrade dan?

    • @Dan_AYP
      @Dan_AYP  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know you can but the caliper won't fit under the oem 15s where as this does 👍 plus the discs are harder to source as you have to get ep3 discs redrilled to 4x100 pcd, they're not readily available like these are

    • @Dan_AYP
      @Dan_AYP  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Doubt it, the eg, ek, dc2, em1, eh, ej civics amd integras all share the same hub / knuckle which makes this possible into those chassis providing the pcd and disc offset is correct
