Ivo was the IT guy in the late '80's. I know this, and I don't even dare to call myself a piano player. Thanks George, for turning me on to Chopin at Winchester.

As always from Ivo, it’s different ... and as always, it works ... could never have imagined it played at this tempo but the sostenuto is divine and the cadenza has a whole new meaning ...

What a harsh piano, or is it the microphone positioning, or is it the method of teaching he had when young?

I don't sense 4/4 always. One should always be able to tell the meter, especially on first listening.

darren motise why? Aren’t there much more important / interesting layers of expression to this than meter?

well, the thing is it's 2/2 and not 4/4 so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

are you going to comment the same thing about this piece on every video of it?

"One should always be able to tell the meter?"
Why? How would that work with someone like Morton Feldman?

totally disagree, and with this piece the meter is hard to detect because of the way it's composed. Chopin intended it that way. even when playing it the phrases don't fall or end when you think they will or feel they should, they continue over barlines, and it feels uneven, almost unsettling.

for me it's totally irritating. I always hear first his ego and then the music. What the hell, why such a loud melody and so much ritardando...I apologize to the ones who like him and I promise I won't comment upon him anymore...but the chromatic chords at the end are very nice
