- Factory recirculation valve sound cannot be noticed, but once HKS Super SQVIV is installed, its unique & sharp high frequency sound demonstrates its existence. It won't be that loud with a small td04 turbo. I had one in my 93 MR2 turbo that was awesome but it had a garett t3/t4 in it. You have to run 2 to 3 times the boost in a td03/td04 to get the same amount of CFM's as the old garett t3/t4. Think I was running 12to13lbs of boost to hit 300 HP in the MR2. My 17 SI had one and the Mitsubishi td03 was just to small. Unless you reved it out the sound was miniscule. Not sure what the concensus on how bad venting in the atmosphere is. So it runs a little rich. That just helps keep the cylinders a little cooler. Better than running lean. The only car I ever had to worry about recircing was the old talon/eclipse from the 90's. It wouldn't run if you didn't. I have never had an issue with an hks. Can't say the same for other brands. But the old school brands Greddy, HKS and Blitz were always reliable.

@@armandomunoz2958 yes it is 😗 the exhaust manifold built into the cylinder head, the air-to-air intercooler, the sodium-filled exhaust valves, variable exhaust-valve lift and timing (VTEC), intake and exhaust camshaft phasing, a two-piece water jacket, the turbo’s electric wastegate, and pistons with internal cooling channels. The 9.8:1 compression ratio is equal on both cars. Accord runs a smaller turbo and is detuned. It's literally the same engine.

I heard alot about blow off valves not being that great for the x gens with turbos in em.
Properly tuned it’ll be fine
If you leave it stock, and vent to atmosphere it will cause the vehicle to run rich.

@@ugurasci4404 honestly it won't ever probably hurt your car.. but it could cause your catalytic converter to become clogged or ineffective after a few years. If you are catless you would likely never see a problem from it.

My R run like crap with this bov, had to removed it.
I'm pretty sure you will have to tune it to get it to run correctly because you're venting instead of recirculating.
Know 4 person who installed it and had to take it off, keep shutting off... when I saw what they were going thru I said forget that
I’ve been running my BOV for about 7m now 6k miles and not one issue yet. It could be an issue with how they did the install with the hoses, also the T coupler and sensor located at the rear or the engine. When installed properly should work fine just run the issue of split second richness when VTA as many say the air is already accounted for before BOV.

@@TheLexluger90 I will be getting this installed on my Type R in the near future. It doesn't require a tune but it does require a tune to run correctly. That split second the BOV vents air, the fuel mixture will run a little rich so if you are sitting in a parking lot revving your engine you will likely stall. Watch the video again. You'll notice who ever is revving the engine stay on the gas pedal a little so not to stall the engine.

That’s kinda wack not gonna lie. For that price it barely makes any noise. I’ve heard smaller ones make the flutter noise and I’ve heard ones even sound like a jet taking off.
You can't put a blow off valve that vents to atmosphere on the CTR. That air is already accounted for by the ECU and when the blow off valve dumps it.... you run into a/f problems. No real way around it.
Not good for this car.
