- In the third part of this episode under the FK8 Honda Civic Type-R Build series, we finally received our freshly Ceramic coated RV6 Downpipe and Intake charge pipe. We will get installing them along with the HKS Super Sequential Blow-off Valve.

@@ahcgarage Hey i really need help with my HKS BOV on my 2018 Hyundai Elantra Sport, I have an HKS adapter that replaces the original. I'm super confused on where the hoses go... Could you kindly explain to me where each hose goes starting from the BOV and what hose connects to each end of the T fitting, where its coming from and where its connecting? I would greatly appreciate it as I can't find anything anywhere explaining the hose connections properly. Some say connect it directly to the Solenoid, but what about the T fittings? what is connecting to each end and where they coming from or going. Thanks a bunch

Dang what those CTRs need are lower profile tires. Freaking rubber bands! Pretty sweet regardless.
They are 245/30/20. Pretty low profile for a production car, specially a Honda

Stock intake box is better off anyway. The OEM box flows great and with a drop in k&N gives these $500 heat soak intake run for it money.
Agreed, the OEM intake box does flow really well.

Does installing the blowoff valve make the MAF sensor unhappy since it is expecting the air to recirculate, as opposed to being blown off?
After install catless downpipe does it need a tune to prevent CEL?😊
Have you have any issue with the hks BOV? Especially for not using a recirculating kit?

Anywhere you can give me a run down of when you installed the HKS Bov on how the vaccum lines were tied together? Also I'm hearing that with the HKS bov it needs a proper tune once installed? I am currently on a custom tune with hondata now do I need to do a retune to eliminate air and fuel?
To be easier for you besides the retune, you can use a recirculating kit
Honest question on turbo blankets. Keeps heat off the motor and helps reduce timing cuts when it over heats and less heat less wear on the motor. But doesn't the blanket also cause the turbo to over heat and hurt the bearings?

Did the ceramic coating make a difference to your temperatures? Also did you go with Silver ceramic because of personal preference or better heat resistance than black ceramic?
The color is just our personal preference. No sure if it's cooler than black ceramic

As you are the first ones that I have come across that did the ceramic coating on the inlet charge pipe, would like to see what you feel performance wise by doing this. I am exploring this option vs a new titanium charge pipe vs a ptp blanket?

Yea, everyone keeps saying the same thing.
I agreed. But people only putting this HKS bov on the car because they like to hear the release pressure sounds.
@bisimoto has a video on his channel of a HKS BOV installed Civic SI and tested the myth while attached to a dynajet. I believe his results found a 5HP increase before he started tuning.
“Hearing” is never a good way to find out if aftermarket products work. You have to test it yourself. If I went off of hearsay (most of the time from people who never even tried), my car would still be stock🤷🏾♂️
