This review made me finally decide on this vehicle. I came back again to watch a second time since I had forgotten some of what my salesperson told me. So helpful on both counts! Thank you!
Mike thanks for making this video on the 2018 RAV4. The salesman was a nice person, but hardly explained much about the car. He left up to me to ask the questions. Your demo was thorough and hit on key areas which were extremely helpful. Again, thanks for taking the time to explain everything. I think Toyota should send you money for doing this.
Thanks, Mike. We just purchased a RAV4 and will be picking it up tomorrow. We just never get into all of this when we test drive a vehicle. You answered a lot of my questions concerning it and the functionality of what is on the steering wheel buttons and dash. I also wondered where the gas cap button was. A great walk-through review and I will feel more comfortable setting up the electronics. :-)
I bought this car January 3, 2019 as a leftover model with $3500 worth or rebates on it...It was a great deal...love the car...have 8k on it now....The first week I drove it, my back ached very badly....so, I went back to the dealer, Mid City Toyota in Eureka, CA....they recommended an upholstery shop. For $200 the shop put about an inch of high quality foam in the middle back portion of the seat...PERFECTION....I love this car! 30+mpg on a trip....25 around town driving....no complaints.
Love this video because of the explanation of the various components and the rate at which the components were explained--not too fast which allowed me to comprehend what was being said. Very clear voice with no silly cutesy stuff. Very professional which I appreciate. I wanted answers not entertainment and this video delivered!
The XLE trim doesn't use the LED portion of the headlights or tail lights at anytime. I've had mine since January and the LED strips are all just paper weights until you do some wiring work at the least.
Very nice video! I just bought a 2018 RAV4 XLE Hybrid Limited yesterday. It only had 20k miles on it, yet it appeared to be brand new. Best Car I've ever owned! Lots of neat features. I esp. like the "overhead camera" view when I go to park. Hopefully, it will improve my parking abilities. :) Nice job on your delivery - there are other videos on TH-cam where the person thinks they are a comedian, but they aren't. Esp. liked the "drive over" underside of the car view at the beginning.
Myreviewmedia what model did you buy? I'm looking into buying the xle model which they currently have it for 29,000 and they have 0% interest. Dont know if that's a good deal or not.
MrRgarcia112 I have xle with no navigation and only fwd but I got it down to 24500 out the door with all fees tags registration I had to do a lot of negotiations with different Toyota dealers so try different ones and if you have cosco memberships try there auto programs it was almost the same deal maybe 500 more than what I paid
Toyota should get rid of the sun roof make it an option ,and put in a power driver seat as standard on this model. 🤔,. Great review by the way . I'm considering buying one.
As I mentioned in my comment, I found an Option package which has the Power driver seat & heated front seats. I was quite surprised at the things the XLE does NOT have standard. As I said, I have a Camry XLE and it is loaded, so I thought a Rav 4 XLE would be well equipped as well. NOT so much ! As I mentioned, the Universal garage door opener(Home Link) not being included blows me away. Strange.
Agree. I think these sun roofs are not necessary at all and are just another thing that can cause problems down the road. If I had a choice I would never buy a car with a sun roof.
Yeah the XLE isn't much more than the LE in cost. XLE used to mean pretty decently loaded before you get to Limited which has everything. There's also SE, Platinum and Adventure trim levels available, so maybe the XLE had to be pushed down some. The lack of a powered drivers seat is an indication that Toyota wants you to spend more on the other grades. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me though lol. But I agree, ditch the sunroof and add in some missing options.
Mickey PH! . I just bought the xle in red color 2 weeks ago. Just love it. It rides and drives so smooth and seats are very comfortable. Lots of space everywhere. I didn’t get electric seats but that’s okay I got everything else. I wanted the sun/moon roof. The blind spot sensors are awesome. So far I am very happy with this purchase!
J Pol . Sunroofs are great. Electric seats, windows, and back hatch can also give you problems later on. That’s what warranties are for. I own this Exact model but in red and I love it. It drives and rides smooth.
Mike, thank you for this video, I just purchased the same one in super white color and I already enjoying it. May you enjoy yours. Have a blessed life !
That was an excellent review sir. I could really dig that "fresh air for a minute" feature, except I would put a skunk sticker over the button because I don't know why, but for the past few years there have been a LOT of dead skunks and oh man I hate that stink. When you see a dead skunk in the road ahead, hit that button quick... get by fast, and block out that stank. I think it may work!
Worth noting I think the DRL LEDs are only available on the hybrid models. I’ve got an xle and I’ve never been able to get them to turn on despite having the DRL option.
What I would like to know is about the Headlights. There's 2 things. First is about a Hi/Low Beam being able to operate off of a Single Filament Bulb. Second is about the LED Strip above the Headlights. How do they work?
Excellent review! Detailed and contained many important details that other reviewers missed. Like to hand pointer which helps point out the details. A+++++ !
Josh's Drawing Life HAVE SOME RESPECT! it’s a light banana color. His arm also seems to be an matte eggshell. I wonder what happened. Probably a diabetic.
I test drove one today. VERY nice car! It was a limited hybrid with leather interior. Only gripe is the headrest in the back is VERY uncomfortable on taller people like myself, as there is only one small position. I had a headache by sitting in there.
@@MikesCarInfo My wife just got one of these as a Certified Used vehicle. Very low mileage. She really likes it so far. I do not see any tire pressure indicators. Am I missing something? Her old RAV4 just had a simple light on the dash, which was more annoying than anything. Thanks.
My XLE 2018 does not have the Blind spot monitoring, the Entune Audio with the Apps. Is this standard on the XLE's. How do some XLE's have blind spot monitoring and some do not and some have Entune Audio Plus while others have the Entune Audio (LE)??? can anybody help me with this as I feel ripped off from the toyota dealer.
O have this truck and the only bad things is No light on the copilot compartment and also no automatic windows just on the driver window, also no light on your buttons, if is dark you have turn on lights to see what button have to press.
I have a question, can you move the “back-passenger” seats up? I am asking this because I lost my keys inside the seats and I am pretty sure they are beneath the seats and I do not know how to move them,
I love the wheel adjustment didn’t know that’s an option, I’m 5’ it’ll come in handy! 😁 Love the pointer! Does the PCS only work while in cruise control?
Yes, to echo other comments, this was an excellent review. I just started looking seriously at the RAV 4 recently. The Hybrid is what interests me most right now. I thought I would check this out as I may try to take a test drive tomorrow in Green Bay. I did find a XLE with an option package that adds most of what I want and felt was missing from a normal XLE. The Option package I've found does have power driver seat, which standard XLE does not. It also has HEATED seats which are a good item to have here in Wisconsin and also not standard on regular XLE. I'm sure they aren't needed in Florida where you are. One thing my option package does NOT have is Universal Garage Door opener. I can't believe the XLE does not have this standard. I thought any vehicle had this these days. I wanted to check out the cloth seats as I've had leather for a number of years now. I wasn't sure if I would like them, but they do look ok as far as I can tell. My option package does have Navigation, too, which I've had for years now. I'm hoping that the Hybrid with the slightly boosted HP will satisfy me. Thanks again and sorry about being so wordy.

Ended up buying this vehicle, XLE, same color. Very happy :)
You’re such a huge help! The salesman was not in depth and precise as you were. Keep it up!!
I’ve heard that the 2016-18 is the best to buy used, so once I graduate this December, I’d like to set this as my goal as my first “serious” purchase
