Every time you go through the "no feeling is final" speech in an episode, I think back to the last time I've heard you say that in the previous episode, and the words always ring true. There is always another day, and another chance for things to go right. Thank you.
i used to think they were annoying because i just didnt agree, but as things seem worse with every new video, the message starts to hit harder. one can only hope things do get better one day
Seeing a game I run covered here is a surreal feeling. I'm still shocked how much optimization runners like Shnazz are able to squeeze out of literally every second of the run. Tony games have some of the highest actions per minute of any speedgame and they're fun as hell to run at any skill level.
I'm currently watching this speedrun in-between calls at my job, which I really don't like. I just got off a call with a particular AH customer, and I was feeling really bad. I then came back to this at 16:30. I really needed to hear that right now, and it really made my day. Things will get better with time. Thank you.
I used to watch these videos and never thought much about the part where you say "however you're feeling it's okay", but since my love left after 13yrs it makes me cry so hard now. I hope you're right that this feeling isn't final because this pain seems absolutely never-ending
Josh, I've had my love leave me after being together for 6 years. I understand your pain, but let me tell you that it will get better no matter how much it hurts. As the days go on, you will start feeling better. Keep your head high, brother!
His words hits very deep. Just know that one day you are going to hear them again and you will look back at now and think at how strong the feeling you had was, and how much you have overcome to lessen that weight and be happy again. I know you can do it
I'm not sure how to describe the feeling that these videos make me feel but it's a good one and it gives me something to focus on and calm down from anxiety. Also, this game was a large part of my childhood and this is just mindblowing to watch.
Played all the Tony Hawks games religiously as a teen, put a few thousand hours into them for sure, they had (and likely still have) such a small but passionate community. This takes me right back to those golden years - and what a great run by shnazz. Thanks papa
Funny how you didn't mention anything about the normal boneless, which is a special jump that grants extra height and distance (useful for doing a trick like Judo for points). It also raises the combo counter, so it's a no-brainer to use in pretty much anywhere (in some spots Shnazz uses No Comply which is similar without speed/height boosts, to land and proceed with the mission sooner). Might as well mention that rotation (the 180s) add to the score, so overall: Boneless + 180º + Judo = ez early fat points. Then again, the question is how many THUG mechanics we want to explain lol. If anyone has questions I'm happy to answer those.
"No feeling is final" is just so awesome! It earned my sub the first time I heard it a few weeks ago, and to keep hearing it is amazing. As someone who's starting to come up after a long and difficult time in my life, I can't even put into words how much I (and most people probably) really appreciate it. Even the little bit of acknowledgement you give, and the genuine tone you present it in is enough to save a life. The fact that you take the time to do this is amazing, please keep it up!
@@CoralCopperHead While it’s true that some problems may outlast any human life span, it’s highly unlikely that you will feel equally bad about it through the span of 100 years. Maybe the problem isn’t temporary and maybe the feeling is persistent; but like everything in life there will be ups and downs. The thing that is temporary is the crushing feeling that you are being strangled; that you have no other option, that it’s the only way out. That is temporary;

I have a passing interest in speed running. I play video games. I enjoy video games. I would say my knowledge of them extends past that of the casual gamer, but I know enough to know that the dedication and effort that goes in to speed running is beyond me; I like to see it and learn about the mechanics, but it's not at all for me. However, after watching basically none of the video and hearing only "hello everyone, my name is tomato anus, also known as the dribbling tip", you have earned yourself a subscriber for life. Now, if you don't mind, I'll go ahead and actually watch you video.
The actual odds that I watched that episode of I Think You Should leave literally moments before watching the part where you reference the limo scene are blowing my mind rn.

Honestly, I came for the speedrun, was kept entertained by your commentary style and fell in love for your mental health part. Thank you for that!!
I used to beat this game every single day after I got home from school, this was before I knew what speedrunning was and before I even had internet. Might even be the first game I ever completed, couldn't have been more than 8 or 9 years old. THUG always brings me heavy nostalgia.
It's quite impressive how many specific technical details go into this run. You'd never know it from just watching the run itself.
i know it’s really dumb but the bit you put in around 17 minutes really meant a lot to me, thank you man
0:17 tonty hawk got my good bruh.
Eric has one redeeming feature.
He is extremely, *EXTREMELY* satisfying to punch in the face.
There's only one guy I've enjoyed decking more in a game, Paladin in Wing Commander 3.
This game is a game from my childhood, and I love it. Recently played it on stream and posted it up on TH-cam. The Deez Nuts joke really got me, this game was ahead of it's time for sure, in more ways than just that haha.
I was enjoying the speedrun explanation, when the mental pep talk hit me out of nowhere. I'm actually at that point again when I started hating my job. If anyone's reading this, remember; no amount of money is worth being stuck in a job you hate. Having said that, wish me luck on finding a new job! 😁
This is so good! Love to see this speedrun of one of my childhood favorites :D The explanations are actually way more interesting than I would have imagined
Great video! By the way, people were butt slapping as early as 2005. Played a ton of THUG2 online and its something you almost needed to learn to keep up with the insane scoring. Thanks for the vid :D
The first video of yours I seen was the Subnautica one. I was feeling about as low as I ever had, then your mid video talk caught me off guard but you were right. Im listening to this one while things are falling into place and Im winning. Thank you
Oh man this is great. I thought I knew everything about this game, awesome to still find out new stuff about it all these years later
Holy shit, I just wanted to say the "no feeling is final" speech stopped me in tracks. Amazing Easter egg. Thank you for that! Great work on this video too!
