It's always interesting when I find a speed run mechanic I know about from casual play. I learned about the sprint charge thing while rolling just naturally. That feels pretty cool! (I learned it while running back to boss rooms after dying a lot, while trying to avoid monster attacks as I ran past haha)

I've platinum'd this game and didn't even know what Blue Elixir did. I thought it had something to do with Arcane users, which I wasn't. That would have helped me make the run towards the Wet Nurse easier for sure. Those pigs were a pain in the ass, not to mention I was constantly getting invaded there.

Props for the arachnophobia warning. While spiders usually skeeve me out, Rom just looks dumb as hell to me, but I always love it when people take it into consideration.
There's a few reasons for killing doll beyond the one second time save. 1. You may need to do it more than once stacking time saves. 2. Mashing x to skip dialogue may end up causing gestures to occur, which in turn prevents skipping further dialogue until the gesture finishes. 3. It's fun! :)

there is a weird thing that can be replicated with all levers, doors and switch's too. really hard to pull off but it effectively cancels the full animation letting you move the door or lever and still move, similar to item pickup when falling off a ledge. I wonder if it will be incorporated into future Speedruns
I was reading an article about destiny 2, which I play too much of, and I had seen a reference about how awesome the Bloodborne community was. So, me being curious about the game, looked up videos of it. This video was at the top of the list and so I clicked on it. And I was not disappointed. I will never play the game, only because I'm honestly not that good at video games, but I will continue to watch videos on it. Your little life message is something that I tell myself almost everyday, but it was honestly something I needed to hear from someone else, even if you are a stranger to me. It made me tear up and I just wanted to say thank you for it. I wish you the best in life and I hope your games never glitch.

I’ve been watching speedruns for a long time, but I’ve never really understood what’s going on. So grateful that the TH-cam home page actually recommended something that I didn’t even realize was a thing. I’ve been binge watching all of your videos man, thanks for all the content.
I love your videos because I see you trying to explain to people outside the community why these runs are so difficult, creative, and impressive. I had two quick thoughts on how to improve the viewing experience for a new viewer by catching them up quickly to the community. Obviously these videos already take a ton of work and I deeply appreciate it - there's no expectation here, just ideas. 1) Run Killer Flashbacks: we all know every speedrun has a few notorious run killers - a really unpredictable enemy or fussy glitch. It would be cool to, as we are approaching a run killer, pause and watch a few "flashbacks" of how the next few seconds can go wrong. I think it does a similar job as your pause, play-by-play, and resume combo. 2) Power Meter: we know the relative impact of each upgrade, but a new player wouldn't. Some kind of very simple absolute power level - even just a number in the corner that goes up each upgrade, etc - would make it easy to benchmark the speedrunner's current power level. You mentioning the damage numbers during the upgrades here was great - having a visual indicator to go along would help dummies like me keep up. Again - you clearly work super hard on these and it shows. Thanks for help making speedruns accessible to a wider audience, and for doing some of the best work out there to illustrate why they're so engaging.

there is a weird thing that can be replicated with all levers, doors and switch's too. really hard to pull off but it effectively cancels the full animation letting you move the door or lever and still move, similar to item pickup when falling off a ledge. I wonder if it will be incorporated into future Speedruns
I was reading an article about destiny 2, which I play too much of, and I had seen a reference about how awesome the Bloodborne community was. So, me being curious about the game, looked up videos of it. This video was at the top of the list and so I clicked on it. And I was not disappointed. I will never play the game, only because I'm honestly not that good at video games, but I will continue to watch videos on it. Your little life message is something that I tell myself almost everyday, but it was honestly something I needed to hear from someone else, even if you are a stranger to me. It made me tear up and I just wanted to say thank you for it. I wish you the best in life and I hope your games never glitch.

I love how everybody now knows that speedruns inevitably involve glitches and "cheats". And the morons who dismiss speedrun claiming "not appreciating the game" or some shit like that are mostly gone now, thanks to you and other creators who take the time and make informative and engaging vids like these.

I love your videos because I see you trying to explain to people outside the community why these runs are so difficult, creative, and impressive. I had two quick thoughts on how to improve the viewing experience for a new viewer by catching them up quickly to the community. Obviously these videos already take a ton of work and I deeply appreciate it - there's no expectation here, just ideas.
1) Run Killer Flashbacks: we all know every speedrun has a few notorious run killers - a really unpredictable enemy or fussy glitch. It would be cool to, as we are approaching a run killer, pause and watch a few "flashbacks" of how the next few seconds can go wrong. I think it does a similar job as your pause, play-by-play, and resume combo.
2) Power Meter: we know the relative impact of each upgrade, but a new player wouldn't. Some kind of very simple absolute power level - even just a number in the corner that goes up each upgrade, etc - would make it easy to benchmark the speedrunner's current power level. You mentioning the damage numbers during the upgrades here was great - having a visual indicator to go along would help dummies like me keep up.
Again - you clearly work super hard on these and it shows. Thanks for help making speedruns accessible to a wider audience, and for doing some of the best work out there to illustrate why they're so engaging.
