If it wasn't equipped with HT tyres as standard just for better milege figures, it would be an offroad monster. Though one can easily fit it with better 215s aftermarket mud tyres.

So Jimny, with all its flaws, is in fact cheaper and built to cost! Look at this video, Jimny, Gurkha, G-Wagon, Rover, Rubicon all have their individual characteristics and design elements. The same can not be said about the Thar.

At time of launch i literally supported jimny in all offroad videos comment section just coz I am a fan of jimny and wanted to tell everyone what jimny is capable of. But at that yime instagram graduated kids literally made laugh of my every comment and jimny. But seeing so much support to jimny today, i felt kinda proud 😂
Rubicon if manufactured in India would cost 20-25 lakhs and that is when it make sense . 3 door Jeep wrangler is priced around 42000$ , while Jimny is priced globally around 34000$ . Price of wrangler make no sense in India
Simply superb. Autocar just nailed it in the offroad tests. I'm actually amazed by the capability of the Jimny, which cleared every obstacle except the slushy hill climb in manual guise and stock non-AT tyres. That's the power of this little mountain goat, to deliver outstanding capability at just about 16 Lakh on road (without diff locks and fancy electronics) !! Compare it with the 80 odd lakhs for the Rubicon, and 1.8 Cr for the Defender and about 2.8 Cr for the G-Wagen. Why go that far-- it did everything the Roxx did (with AT Tyres, +50bhp, +200nm), at about 30% less cost ! In my opinion, only two cars are ABSOLUTE winners.. the Jimny and the Roxx. Kudos to the Autocar team to shoot this video in the trying weather conditions .. Hail Jimny !!
A base variant and a manual Jimny with Highway tyres, worth 13L on-road, compared with and competing with vehicles 2, 10, 20 and even 30 plus times its cost and being their equal OR better in the tests, its David Vs Goliath for real. What a vehicle and what crazy value. Jimny Joy is real 🍻🔥
Its really sad to see the Jimny's true worth being recognised by the public only after its sales are already on an all time low! The Indian car market really doesn't deserve good cars, the only sole reason why people mocked the Jimny and preferred the Thar 3 door was due to its looks. Although it is more practical, reliable, comfortable, feature loaded and has more capability with better articulation, narrower track and better real life GC.

ABS, EBD, ESP, DSBS, Brake assist, hill hold and hill descent control, isofix mounts and six air bags. Better boot space.. Also excellent for camping. Impressive approach and departure angles. 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. Automatic transmission is an old school 4-speed torque converter unit, this transmission has been around for a long time and is extremely reliable. 3 million units already in 199 countries.. Anything else? Guys this is a serious offroading lifestyle vehicle.. Go for it.

All the cars performed well, nice video! The Jimny has very basic highway tires, but if you put all-terrain or other upgraded tires on it, it can go anywhere. It's an amazing machine at a great price.
Oh I've been waiting for this Autocar for a long long time........ I own a gypsy, a jimny and a Thar crde, now I'm interested in the ROXX cuz like the long awaited 5 versions of all 3 budget off-roaders in India, I too am starting a family so need something more practical while I can't leave the 4x4 life away
Even the monocoque and fully independent suspension defender seems to have better wheel travel than the thar and gurkha...that shows you don't need a traditional body on frame construction anymore for a great offroader
I guess the people who got attracted to such content have already accepted the fact that Jimny is not a toy but a serious offroader. Many admire it since beginning and many joined later like me. But the irony is; we are still quite less in numbers that this machine needed to prove its worth to the general category of India who are just fan of looks only😅
@@Rahul-kp6wn Jimny AT is more sutable suitable for Off-roading , Becouse, it Has 1 & 2 manual drive limiting gears in AT, we can use it when it needed as manual gears. So basically it has both MT and AT mode in AT

Jeep Wrangler will makes sure that the mess that you got in, it will surely get you out, But Jimny is the true VFM as it scored the same results as others except Wrangler and that says a lot when it comes to pricing to performance ratio.
Jimny might not have a manual diff lock but has a BLD. so yes, it does have some kind of locking differential at rear. specifically its Brake Locking Differential(BLD)
Surprisingly Gurkha gets less attention in the comment section. If anyone noticed the Gurkha doesn't have a hill decent control but its done the job well and the last obstacle test was almost it did but not finished may be the tyres will lost the traction and also the body to weight ratio played major role. I was happy about Gurkha's off-road performance.
No matter how much you try to downplay Jimny by making fun of its small footprint . I’m sure People will surely realise it one day that this little Suzuki is so much more capable than the rest. Here also it beats true blue SUVs which cost literally 15- 20 times its price. I say this with so much conviction having driven extensively its predecessor the GYPSY. These Japanese machines are no match in off roading for the price they are offered.
Tyres play a vital role in OffRoading. All the capabilities of the car are finally executed in the ground by Tyres. If all had MT Tyres then all these TRUE SUVs are capable enough to climb that obstacles!

Real fun is actually doing offroad in the stock setup. Yes you can modify, but then then won't be any skill required to clear the obstacles.

Only for people who are poor in operating the clutch and gear shifting otherwise manual is the Goat
