    1:27 Functions of the gallbladder
    2:53 Functions of bile
5:04 What causes a bile deficiency?
7:04 Remedies for gallbladder removal symptoms
In this video, we’re going to talk about the side effects of gallbladder removal. You can live a long, healthy life without a gallbladder, but unfortunately, 40% of people who’ve had their gallbladder removed end up with persistent pain and symptoms for a year or more.
Some of the common symptoms associated with gallbladder removal include the following:
    • Constipation
    • Diarrhea
    • Anal leakage
    • Fullness under the right rib cage
    • Right shoulder pain
    • Collins’ sign pain
The gallbladder is an extension of the liver that holds and concentrates bile. Every time you eat, it contracts and releases bile into the small intestine. Bile begins to break down fat, allowing the pancreas to further break down fat by releasing an enzyme called lipase.
Bile is critical for the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins A, E, D, and K, as well as essential fatty acids. Bile also helps you get rid of excess cholesterol.
A gallstone is a concentrated cholesterol stone that forms due to low bile. This is why bile salts are used as a remedy for gallstones.
If you’re low in bile salts, your liver will make more bile and cholesterol. Seventy-five percent of all the cholesterol in your body is made by your body. Only 25% of your cholesterol comes from the diet.
Here are some of the causes of bile deficiency:
    • Estrogen (birth control pills, pregnancy)
    • Stress
    • Prednisone
    • Diabetes
    • High-carb diets
    • High body weight
    • Liver disease (fatty liver, cirrhosis, hepatitis)
    • Low-fat diets
    • PPIs
    • Nutritional deficiencies
    • Low melatonin
If you’ve had your gallbladder removed and you’re having symptoms, here are a few things that you can try:
    •Gentle acupressure
    •Bile salts after eating
    •TUDCA for bile sludge
•Betaine hydrochloride to acidify the stomach
•Increase melatonin (infrared rays, improve sleep)
•Milk thistle, beets, dandelion greens, artichokes
If you have diarrhea, bile salts may worsen your problem. Follow a low-carb, moderate-fat, moderate-protein diet if you’re dealing with symptoms from gallbladder removal.

After 8 years of excruciating abdominal pain and other abdominal area issues, my gallbladder was removed (packed w/stones; some the size of a quarter). I was 55 and followed a strict low fat diet combined with excessive exercise. Anyway, my issues immediately stopped. Fortunately I had zero post surgery issues. I’m now 73 and still issue free. Blood tests show healthy liver and kidneys. I follow Dr. Bergs advice. Diet, exercise, vitamins.

I was overweight and none of the doctors ever told me I needed to do anything about losing my gallbladder except don’t eat fried food. I had two gallstone attacks fairly close together and the medical system basically railroaded me towards surgery. The first actual doctor I spoke to was the surgeon for the appointment to go over surgery and set a date for it. It didn't feel right and I wanted another opinion so I talked to a family friend who was a doctor. He recommended diet change. I decided to change my diet and hope for the best, understanding that I would probably still have gallstone attacks from time to time. For general health I wish I could say I went carnivore or keto and never looked back but one thing I did change permanently was I stopped eating ice cream and drinking soda. The diet changes were focused on losing weight, and also not eating things that were overloading my system with a ton of fat to digest all at one time. Ice cream consumption preceded both of the gallstone attacks, so that's why that food was specifically targeted first and foremost. That was about a decade ago and no gallstone attacks since then. I still expect to eventually have more stones but wanted to let people know that talking to a doctor about diet changes helped me to avoid surgery.

Wish I’d never had gall bladder removed- docs did tests and said it was low functioning-must come out. Surgeon got the gall bladder and also “accidentally” totally severed my main bile duct! This was not detected until almost a week later (duct had a clip on the severed end or I likely would not be here). Long, expensive road to recovery after many more tests and procedures plus major surgery to build a work around for the bile duct function. Praise God we have better ready access these days to this kind of information to help make better health decisions. Thanks so much for posting helpful info 🎉

My daughter developed IBS and panic attacks after her gull bladder was removed at the age of 14. It just stopped working out of the blue, no rhyme or reason. She was on Paxil for about a year, but didn't want to take it anymore. She also developed (discovered maybe) that she has a gluten and lactose allergy. Thanks for the information. I had a GB attack after doing uninformed intermittent fasting. I chose to keep my gall bladder because everything was back to normal after the large stone passed. I ate less fatty foods and more veg. Two years later, I took the medicine for the other big ‘c’ after getting it from a relative’s exposure. Gallstones is one of the side effects of the medication. Hospital let me sit in pain for a day, passing the stones, having pancreatitis before giving painkillers. Again, they tried to railroad me into removal surgery and something inside told me it wasn’t right. Even the nurses who cared for me quietly advised not to do it. I went home after arguing with teams(yes, TEAMS) of doctors coming by to pressure me into surgery. I realized surgeries were down and the docs wanted to really perform one for their residents😂.
Got a second opinion from a GI doc who prescribed some stone breaking drug and another surgeon. By then it’s been months and I was back to normal. That was nearly three years ago. Eating better and staying away from unnecessary medications for me has helped tremendously. I’ve only had my seasonal allergies and one cold during all of this time since 2020.

Also was able to consume “organic” beef, without having an attack. Vinegar and fresh squeezed lemon is part of every day meal planning. I can not tolerate fast food. Which is kinda sad, as I miss the idea of a breakfast sandwich and hash browns, but two bites in…and I already feel the warning signals. Was given NO information on what was to occur --- I'm now 86 and have had NO problems. (did suffer 10 years prior to the surgery, was told I had an ulcer). So now I tell myself they didn't know much back then. I was cut from the middle of my stomach to the hip. Now they have 4 - 5 small holes. I do not have much love for doctors.

A year and a half ago my gut dysbiosis got so bad that I had complete gut paralysis. I could feel the existing food in my intestines turning putrid. I immediately started a prolonged fast then followed Dr. Berg's protocol of ox bile, betaine HCL and TUDCA. After the everything cleared out I felt a gurgling followed by relief around my gallbladder, I started being able to digest food again and within two months I had good digestion. Pay close attention, these videos are life savers.

I wish I would have seen this headline three weeks ago before my emergency gall bladder surgery. I’m actually so traumatized by the experience I cannot watch it. I’ve been in and out of the hospital four times now with complications because of the surgery. I’ve lost 22lbs and fear I will never be well again. Hopefully when I can get over the trauma of this experience I’ll actually be able to watch the video and find some hope.

The fats would just run right through me. Basically I couldn’t leave the house for long periods. I almost abandoned the diet but marched on. Glad I did. I still struggle with bacon have been avoiding it. Feel best on the lion diet. Eggs with a couple tablespoons of butter once in a while seems to be okay. However, nothing replaces consistently eating ribeye, porterhouse, or 73/27 ground beef.

8 years ago I had a severe gallbladder attack that was beyond painful and I was rushed to the ER. I didn't know what was wrong with me? I only knew that the pain from 1-10 was a 12! The Doctor in the ER said that I was having a gallbladder attack and that I needed to have the stuck stones that was causing the severe pain removed. He said that my gallbladder needed to be removed and to make an appt. with a specialist, So I did, but the specialist I was recommended to would not answer a few simple questions that I had. That threw up red flags to me! The first simple question I asked him was; What would happen if I decide to keep my gallbladder and eat a more healthier diet? The second question was; What type of diet or complications to expect if I decide to have my gallbladder removed? The third question I asked the Dr. was; Wouldn't my liver have to work overtime due to the missing gallbladder that helps digest our fats?! I was very polite when asking these 3 simple questions to him that he refused to answer and said back to me with a loud boastful voice and a snare on his face; It's Your Life Do What You What With It! I said politely back to him; You know your right! My discernment that the Good Lord gave to me answered all my questions for me and He said to run!!! I'm So grateful that I listened. I am so very Thankful that I still have my gallbladder. The specialist is use to people being sheep to the slaughter and just doing what they tell them to do without batting an eye because it's Big money for them. I believe most Doctors today despise critical thinkers that like to do their research first. Now when I feel my gallbladder acting when I eat something it doesn't like, which is very few, I drink lots of organic apple juice, with fresh squeezed organic lemons and Braggs vinegar, I will sometimes down two teaspoons of Epsom salt when I feel like a bad one coming on and also rub castor oil over the lower half of my stomach area, I then place a piece of plastic wrap over the area I rubbed the castor oil because castor oil is very sticky before placing a warm water bottle over the area while laying down resting for 20 minutes or so to let the castor oil do it's magic. I also do a parasite and gallbladder flush every year or so. I'm so Thankful I still have my gallbladder. Thank You Dr. Berg for all your valuable information and being such a Blessing to all of us! God Bless!

It happened to me age 26. I used to eat unhealthy.
In fact when I used to sneeze, my right wrist and elbow would be in pain and I didn't know what was causing it.
When my gallbladder pain started, I went on a fruit diet for a few days (watermelon, grapes, green apples). Then did the recommended olive oil + apple cider vinegar in boiled water for a day. Midway in that day, what felt like sludge passed through and the tight dull pain sensation was gone. I later discovered the arm pain when sneezing was gone. It's not returned in over 10 yrs. Just eat more fruit, olive oil, apple
    Cider vinegar.

@@alicemacharia8738 there's no precise rule. just boil a jug of water and add a couple of tablepoons of olive oil and apple cider vineger (each) in, then drink it over the next 12 hours. That said i reckon it's important you go at least 3 days on a fruit/juice cleanse. i forgot to add lemons in that list of fruit too.

Do the olive oil and lemon juice cleanse it works! Lemon juice softens the stones and you can pass them. 5cm stones according to ultrasound. Lots of them all passed and a year later still no symptoms.good luck

ACV = Apple Cider Vinegar DILUTED in water,
about 1 table spoon in a water bottle = some 2 cups.
Drinking this in place of just water all day long, and
definitely no sodas, has helped some people.
      More information throughout the comments.
There are entire videos on drinking apple cider vinegar water.
Personally I do it all the time, helps me digest food and just feel better.

Dr Berg! I had major pressure & pain on my gall bladder when i found your videos. Definitely had a problem starting there. I bought your gallbladder formula and all the pain went away. After i finished the bottle there was no problems. A few months later, it started to feel pressure there again so i went the cheap method and just bought some oxbile on amazon. It sorta worked and releived pressure but would come back a couple days later. After going that route like 2 months till the oxbile was gone, the problem still persisted.
So i had to get another one of your blends. This was like 2 months ago. After just a week, your mix had once again made all signs of the problem gone again.

  • @cornpop7805
    @cornpop7805 หลายเดือนก่อน

My surgeon said he there's really no scan or test to tell if the gallbladder truly must be removed. It comes down to point where the patient is experiencing frequent debilitating gallbladder attacks.
I saw him multiple times, where he told me he wouldn't take it out. I finally tearfully begged him to remove it, and he removed it the same day. US healthcare system is awesome in that way!
After the surgery, he said my gallbladder was totally abscessed and could have gone septic within days. He said my condition was absolutely life threatening.
I've had absolutely no detectable issues since the surgery. It's been the biggest upgrade to my life, ever!

I had mine removed two years ago because it was functioning at 17%. They told me I'd feel better. NOPE!!!! When they removed it, they found it was perfectly healthy- no sludge or stones- it simply wasn't functioning well at the time. 🤦🏻‍♀️ So it was just another symptom of a deeper issue, NOT the issue itself. 😓 The removal made my issues worse.
I wish doctors were trained and encouraged to look deeper before doing surgery, but I know that's not lucrative for them. 🙄
Also, even though I had laparoscopic surgery, the recovery is harder than they say! If you get the surgery, make sure you have someone to help you at least a couple of days afterwards. Stock up on light, bland foods (crackers, soup, jello). They told me I could eat normally within a day, and that was a lie. Make sure you have an ice pack and source of heat for comfort.
And try to not cough or sneeze. 😉😅

    • @spencerjones1771
      @spencerjones1771 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Question for you. The doctors are telling me the same thing - to remove it because its low funcitoning (HIDA Scan). I am really reluctant to do so. What would you say the deeper issue was? And what were your symptoms pre op?

    • @Goldies86
      @Goldies86 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@spencerjones1771 My symptoms pre-op were mostly chronic nausea, bloating, and belly pain. I figured out months AFTER surgery that I had parasites. I have been dealing with trying to eliminate those intermittently ever since. Also I apparently have bacterial overgrowth, hormone imbalance and vitamin deficiencies. Parasites can cause all kinds of problems, and can impact every system in the body. Looking back, I likely had them long before my gallbladder was impacted.
