This doctor needs to be cloned and put into every medical school to re-educate doctors with correct information about health.. He is brilliant, and a gem of a person to anyone with common sense about how to improve their health in a sustained way.. I just love learning from his simple to understand videos.. I respect this man immensely. 👍🙏

I am from India and I had tonsil growing up and have dust allergy, doctors here always recommend warm salt water gargle. It is also pretty common here since ancient times. We use normal sea salt. Some people cant swallow or gargle with salt water coz they might vomit, for them commonly betadine gargling solution is used. Even with severe throat infections which are treated with antibiotics, doctors still recommend salt water gargling and it surely does help and I can testify to that. If some one has mild throat itchiness, they can cure it just by gargling 2-3 times a day. The key is to start early and not wait till it gets worse.Good to see a western doctor sharing this easy home remedy.
PS : Steam helps tremendously for for blocked nose and sinus. Steam from pots, steam rooms they not only clear nostrils but helps clearing mucus from chest as well. Another thing that helps chest mucus cleaning is swimming. I am no expert but these are my personal life experiences.

🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:53 🧂 *Salt effectively inhibits microbial growth like bacteria, fungus, yeast, and mold through dehydration, making it a useful agent for eliminating mucus-related infections.*
01:44 🤧 *Salt thins mucus, aiding in loosening thick mucus and improving respiratory conditions by thinning and eliminating mucus buildup originating from sinuses, ears, or tonsils.*
03:35 🥤 *A teaspoon of sea salt dissolved in water can be ingested or gargled to expose the throat and mouth to salt, effectively inhibiting microbial growth and thinning mucus for improved immunity.*
04:30 🌊 *Nasal irrigation using saltwater in a neti pot aids in thinning mucus and removing nasal congestion, particularly effective for post-nasal drips associated with fungal infections.*
05:39 🍎 *Adding a teaspoon of diluted apple cider vinegar to saltwater gargles can further kill microbes and reduce inflammation, supporting an antibacterial effect.*
07:58 🛏️ *Using a humidifier with saltwater during sleep can help thin mucus in the respiratory system, promoting improved breathing and mucus clearance.*
09:49 🔊 *For ear infections or mucus in Eustachian tubes, applying drops of saltwater, diluted apple cider vinegar, or garlic oil can help thin mucus and alleviate congestion.*

I have lived near the sea most of my life and use it as a healer. I thank my parents for their wisdom in knowing the healing power of the ocean. Cold or flu? We'd be taken or sent for a swim each day until better, even in winter. Tinea, dermatitis, skin rashes, any wound. All were treated in the sea. We were even taken swimming while recovering from chickenpox and measles. Our dogs also got the sea remedy. When not having access to the sea salt gargles are the first remedy.

Thank you Dr.Berg! After an intense sneeze on April 19th , 2024 I've been suffering with intense throat pain every time I swallow. Basically the feeling of glass shards going down the right side of my throat. As if a thick slime is stuck in that area. I started doing a Netty pot twice a day for the last two weeks with little relief.
On my third doctors visit a culture was finally ran and it wasn’t strep throat. I was prescribed two opioids for pain and given an ENT appointment in two weeks. The three doctors only seemed focused on telling me a sneeze wouldn't cause throat pain. They didn't really acknowledge my symptoms. I did not fill the RX for the opioids. No thanks.
Last night at midnight the first thing on my feed was Dr. Berg talking about sinuses. After watching the video twice, I leaped out of bed, mixed some Himalayan salt water to drink and put some drops in my ears.
I woke up this morning feeling amazing. I realize I may be suffering from an inner ear infection.
My ears haven’t felt this open in awhile and it’s only been less than one day using the salt. My pain has gone down to 1 out of 10 which is down from an 8 of out 10.

Now that I’m watching this video, I realized that I may have done all that Dr. Berg just said inadvertently and got rid of the mucus in my throat and stopped coughing none stop. I do long distance driving for a living, and consume a lot of pumpkin, or sunflower seeds while driving (They help me stay awake)😵‍💫. They are both lightly salted and make me drink plenty of water too, and by my wife’s advice I also used a heating pad by placing it behind my back, and that made me feel better (Always listen to your wife)😊. After the trip, I can say 99% of my coughing was gone and my throat felt much better, BTW I was drinking plenty of hot tea with cloves and cinnamon sticks added in the water while boiling. Finaly, thanks to Dr. for all the great advice, they really help a lot.

@@ildadresen9287 of course, I used a litre of water, 3 tbsp of sea salt, about 20 cloves. Put that in a pot, cover it, bring it to a boil, for about 3 to 5 minutes because of the cloves. Bring it to a table, a place where you can sit, remove the lid then when it has slightly cooled down, carefully begin to inhale the vapors. After a few minutes, you can cover it with a towel over the pot and over your nose, to avoid cooling down too quickly, and to channel the vapors to your breathing. Breathe in the salty vapor until it has cooled down. It's good to do this at night before bedtime, and you can keep the same water, heat it and use it several times. I used it only three days and it healed me. I hope it helps you too. 🌸

I grew up in PA, had bad hay fever yet continued to bail hay. I had awful sinus headaches even after moving away. One day I went swimming and tried swimming to the bottom. As I got deeper, pressure and pain started in my sinuses, I surfaced and tried again, each time able to go a little deeper. Apparently the repeated pressure changes loosened everything up, when I blew my nose it was the thickest, greenest mucus I'd ever seen.
I have not had a sinus headaches since and that was 40 years ago.

Good video. However, the Salt's role in Sauerkraut is to pull the water out of the cabbage and begin the bacteria fermentation process. Adding salt does not stop the bacteria fermentation, it''s responsible for and helps the fermentation happen. The event that stops the bacteria fermentation process is moving the fermentation from room temperature to the refrigerator where it occurs at a MUCH slower pace.

Thank you so much Dr. Berg. I was getting a sore throat with a lot of sinus and mucous and normally the next stage is normally congestion moves to my lungs and turns to bronchitis. I have a history of this pattern. I had watched this video a few days before having the symptoms and thought I would give drinking a teaspoon of sea salt and water a try. I also took an allergy pill and slept for 10 hours last night. It is now the next evening and I have very little sinus congestion. Sore throat is gone and feel like I am about over it and as I said, this is extremely unusual for me once these symptoms start.
My wife also had the same symptoms starting on the same time but didn’t drink the sea salt water last night. Today is the second day and her sinuses and lungs are both congested with a lot of coughing. I am going to get her to drink the sea salt tonight. Thanks again Dr. Berg.

In the hollows of throat and the caverns of sinus,
Where mucus builds kingdoms, and comfort does minus,
There lies a simple, age-old cure,
A saline solution, effective and pure.
    (Verse 1)
When the drip and the clog start to take hold,
And your head feels heavy, your throat feels old,
Reach for the salt, nature's own mold,
To cleanse and to clear, let the remedy unfold.
    (Chorus)
Salt in warm water, a gargle, a rinse,
Against stubborn mucus, it's our defense.
A nasal wash too, with saline's intense,
It's the way to rid mucus, without pretense.
    (Verse 2)
Dissolve the grains in a glass of the warm,
Swirl it around, let the saline form.
Gargle it deep, let the healing storm,
Through phlegm and the thickness, it will transform.
    (Bridge)
As the ocean's own brew, it ebbs and it flows,
Through sinuses' passages, the saline goes.
It soothes and it clears, as anyone knows,
A natural remedy, to mucus, it opposes.
    (Verse 3)
So when congestion builds, and you're seeking relief,
Remember the salt, in its simplicity, so brief.
A rinse and a gargle, not beyond belief,
For in this saline solution, you'll find your reprieve.
    (Outro)
Let not the mucus your comfort thieve,
Salt is the answer you must believe.
In every granule, relief is conceived,
Breathe easy, breathe deep, as your sinuses are relieved.

Stubborn mucus at the back of the throat can be quickly relieved by sprinkling sea salt (preferably flakes) on the farthest back of your tongue and allowing it to slowly dissolve - it really works!

There is another natural alternative as well. It works AMAZING not just ok. The plant mullein is what i use. I buy an extract from St.Francis herb farms. It keeps the sinus working properly and makes it very very easy to expectorate (cough out) phlegm in your lungs with a light cough or two or even a light clearing of the throat. I breathe like im 14 again

@@DrbergIt would be more than beneficial a video for all those who suffer from sinusitis caused by root canal tooth extraction with roots in the sinus. After tooth extraction with root canal on the 10th day the symptoms of green mucus post-nasal drips appeared, they are already in the 3rd week. What would be the causes: change of oral flora to sinus flora, diffusion of ceramic material (toxic) into sinus etc. and solutions to let the body heal naturally and fast? Thank you. I have followed you for years.

I've had ear infections since childhood because my eustachian tubes take the scenic route and don't drain properly after swimming or showering. Finally, as an adult, found garlic mullen oil at a health food store. I have since learned to make my own garlic oil, using garlic and olive oil! I put it in my ears before I swim now, and I have no problems. I have chronic bronchitis, and I'm going to try gargling salt water and using a neti pot, but I hadn't thought to try the garlic oil in my ears for the mucus in the back of my throat. It can't hurt to try it!
