    Standing ovation!! Thank you so very much for sharing your knowledge. I watched other videos but yours is the most thorough and helped me get my 05 mustang going again. My problem was the green wire going to the inertia switch was only sending 2 volts. I pulled up the carpet to track the wire and there was my issue. The wire was damaged. I disconnected the battery and did a little wire trimming, a little wire splicing, a little wire tucking and my mustang fired right up. Thank you for the amazing video. You saved me a lot of money.

    You saved my sanity, sir. Jacked up my Mustang to do some work and it wouldn't start when I was done, Yep, it was the inertial shut off switch. Pushing the reset solved the problem. Much thanks!

    You're a lifesaver! My 2008 Mustang GT ran out of luck, and the trunk harness was not returning the ground, so the pump was not injecting fuel. It will need to be replaced, but in the meantime, I was able to "fix" it and go home without leaving the car in the mall parking lot. You rock!

    Fantastic video, really shows how the power flows from the engine to the fuel pump. It helped me realize that my issue has to do with the wiring going from the fuel pump to the instrument cluster or something on that line. I have the P0463 error code, so it seems the info from the fuel pump is sending an error.

    Early troubleshooting on my daughter's 2006 mustang. I'm trying to confirm that fuel is flowing. The car runs rough and dies if you try to give it any acceleration. How can you confirm fuel is being pumped? Can you hear the fuel pump when it is running? Where can you check fuel flow? Sorry if these are novice questions.

    WELL EXPLAINED,, THANKS.. Just FYI, by definition of "ground " there is no ground the vehicles because they are not directly connected to ground. In fact they always connected to the negative of the battery. I might be wrong, but a new definition for "ground" needs to be defined for vehicles that are not connected to ground.

    • @LehewTech
      @LehewTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In automotive applications, the chassis and frame are a common ground and most often connected to the negative terminal of the battery. Circuits are often utilizing a ground that is not directly connected to the battery negative terminal but instead grounded to a frame or chassis.

    Would a bad fuel pump on 2005 v6 mustang cause high fuel pressure. I switched out fuel pump relay, fuel pressure sensor, and fuel filter. At idle it’s 60 psi and giving it gas not full on but increasing rpm’s it’s hits 75+ psi which is where the initial p0193 code was in freeze frame (75.9)

    This really helped me to understand how the fuel pump circuit works and even though I have a 2002 Mustang GT 4.6L 2V, I assume it works the same way. Here is my problem and hoping you can help me with my problem. I got a bad load of gas (14 gal.) and I need to drain the tank but I can't just siphon it out due to the anti-siphon device in the filler neck so I looked around on TH-cam and found that I can jump the fuel rely, attach a hose at the fuel rail to a gas can and just turn the key to the on position and the fuel pump will run allowing me to pump the tank down. Of course my 02 has a CCRM and the fuel rely is in that device and I can't just pull the rely so I will need to access the wiring harness and setup a splice of some kind so I can do the jump. I have checked the wiring diagram and found one for the 4V but not for the 2V. Once again, I assume they are the same Color Coded wires. Can you give me any ideas or suggestions to accomplish this. I have done some wiring in the past but not very comfortable doing it without verifying the wires I will be jumping. In fact, I plan to make a jumper that has a 20 or 30 amp fuse in it just in case. I would be grateful for any help you can give me on this!

    By any chance will that be the reason for having that low fuel error dti code?

    • @manuelastoria679
      @manuelastoria679 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey this is a long shot and not sure if you figured out the solution to the DTI error code.
      I’ve bee man having the same issue and i had my fuses, relay, and fuel pump switched out, however the problem still is occurring. From what i been reading online it seems the DTI error could could be tied up to the fuel sending pump aka the pump located on behind the passenger seat. Removing it and doing a simple test with a multi meter can let you know if that is where the issue is at. Also testing the cables the go connected to both pumps can be a cause of the issue as well. Finally there is the instrument cluster that could also be a culprit. However for that one I’ve been told it’s recommended to go to the shop as it’s very sensitive.
      I haven’t had time to work on car however i hope this information helps you if you haven’t already found a solution to that problem.

  • @Jrddng06

    Great video....Ive been trying figure mine out for while thought is was pcm issue why im getting incorrect voltage to the fuel rail pressure sensor. So i have power going to fuel control module key, on the outside black wire is ground that goes to fuel pump i have nothing no ground. Where does that ground come from? And how do i get it grounded so the fuel pump has ground on black wire? Currently with key on at fuel pump pink has power 12.3 volts, green and black has 11.3volts, black(ground) nothing, and then theres a blue with green strip no power/33 ohms when mm set on ground (red light on mm on)
    Update: Read ground at fuel pump only comes on on initial key on. This i have a can hear fuel pump for 2 seconds on key on. So back to fuel pressure sensor high input. Signal Reference, Sign Volt, Pressure nd Temp. Signal Reference is 0 Volts, other 3 have confirmed suppose to 5Volts mine is 5v, 12.3v, 11.3 volt. Reason for high input. Remove fuel pump relay all voltages goes to normal 5v which is correct. What could be issue with fuel pump relay switch in high voltage to fuel pressure sensor?

    Hey, thanks for an amazing video, I have a problem with my 06 Roush, where I checked the relay, all fuses and diods, also I’m receiving 12 volts and a ground on that fuel pump connector when key is turned, (2 pins positive and 2 negative), but my brand new pump that i just bought doesn’t prime and doesn’t work , just like the old one that I have replaced. Could it be an ifs switch? If I’m getting the power on the connector, also what else could it be? I took the assembly out again and when connector that receives power is plugged in to the assembly i tested the pump with voltmeter and it gets no power (assembly is also brand new) , thanks for your time reading this, but I’m really frustrated and confused

      Esjee I solved my issue, so my fpdm was bypassed from the previous owner through the relay that was getting power through the battery and also from the switch when you turn your key into on position, and that relay was bad, just check your fusses , relay, and wires with voltmeter , this video shows actually all the things needed , unless someone did the same bypass as on my car
