Great video, smart and to the point! I have a very similar problem, I really hope this fixes it. Could jump-starting the car fry the diode? The PCM had issues, then battery died, jump-started and then all these new problems just like you described here started.
Ok that was awesome fix However I do have a question? How did the customer drive it for weeks with no problem before it did it again🤔. Cause to me it sounds like the tips of the diode where bad losing connection.
I had the same problem come to find out the previous owner had the wrong size starter relay in the fuse box. Check all your fuses it’s crazy what you find
We have the same problem with an 06 mustang. Can you please show where/how you installed the PCM power diode. It doesn't look like anything else in the fuse box.
It seems the PCM power diode is there to act as a directional fuse, protecting the power relay and PCM. I suppose it will blow if the PCM relay gets reverse voltage like you might see from boosting backwards or if the alternator is failing with too much ripple. Strange that the computer was working but unable to communicate properly, and confusing that codes were not very specific. Worth remembering!
So why would the diode go bad. Is that something that normally goes out, or was it just a random "end of life" situation that sometimes just happens. Unlike a fuse where you would want to find the cause of a fuse blowing.
Awesome video! I got an 05 V6 with P0403 code. Trying to fig out since EGR "looks" new, which action to take next? I can't find diagram of PCM for this anywhere. Also looking for voltage coming out of harness to EGR. Thanks for any help

There are many possibilities. Could be Throttle body or mass air flow sensor or clogged catalytic converter. I wish I could do more to help, but unless your in Houston Texas there isnt much I could do without testing the car myself. Thanks for watching!
I have a similar issue, but when my car does turn off on me the starter still works it just won't turn on. I recently replaced the fuel rail sensor because it was turning off on me and that code came up however now there is no code and it is still turning off just not as frecuently. A quick fix that I have done is to disconnect the battery clean off the corrosion and it turns on again, I do notice that it acts weird when I turn on the AC. Totally confused here.
Hey man I’m really enjoy what you did with this car ! Thank you But I have question here I have the same problem with 2010 Mustang 4.0 And the mechanic told me I have to change PCM and I’m not sure about that I would like to know where you work so I can bring my car to you what you think?
Did you fixed your problem? I also have a 2010 mustang 4.0 which is giving troubles. Intermittent stalling, sometimes runs perfect but sometimes it would feel slow and acceleration would decrease , and the check engine light just won't go away even after replacing the sensors or egr valve which were the codes that it was displaying. After resenting it will come back with the same codes. It would idle poorly and misfire. I have it checked fuel and electric system and the mechanic also told me that it may be the pcm/ecu. And wanted to know if you fixed it by replacing it.
I have intermittent click but no starts on an 07 GT...I think its the PATS system being that when I key my door it usually starts with no issue..Can this be an electric issue as simple as what you fixed?
@ sidenseen1, did u find out what the problem was? I have a no crank no start problem as well switched the diodes around but still no start. Turning the key won't even crank but if I jump the starter relay it will crank. Also opened up my fuse box and under it I can see that there is a burnt wire that turned out to be the low speed fan.wondering if that burnt wire is my issue ?
Ok so my mustang died while i was driving it, The key wont turn, my kilometers go blank and the Throttle body is making the same noise when i *put in the pcm fuse* not take out. Could this be something completely different? I clear the codes with an OBD2 reader and it turns, it actually started once, but after that it locks the ignition and its the same process again.
Just wondering, since a diode is like a check valve, allowing current flow in only one direction, could it be possible to install it backwards, therefore blocking the voltage supply to the relay?
I need help, my mustang 2006 v6 doesnt start, it cranks but doesn't start. I have replace the fuel pump nd is still doing the same thing, i check the inertia button and same thing i check relay and fuze and nothing. Any help idea?
Did you figure out what’s wrong ? I have an 07 throwing up no codes sometimes starts sometimes will only crank and just starting stalling while i was driving
How can I find out if my pcm is bad. It throws 3 o2sensor codes and a lean code and a pedal sensor. I replaced all o2 sensors and still codes. Car losses power and idles low at stops, also the car does rough starts.
Hey man. I have a question. I have a 2010 mustang 4.0 which started acting like crazy sometimes it would run perfect and sometimes no so much. The check engine light always keep on coming back after replacing the bad sensors that I got in the codes but everything that says is bad it's been already replaced. So an auto electric mechanic did the same as you did.. He did a diagnosis of the whole car wiring and found out that the codes. Im getting are all connected to pcm. Which are. All 4 oxygen sensors, so he took the pcm out and saw there was a lot of humidity so he cleaned as he can but told me that that may be the reason why I had a defective pcm. After he did that. He reset it and everything and the car was running perfect again for two days but then the check engine came back with the same codes and now I'm pretty sure is the pcm that is bad. But the dealer is charging me $2300 for the whole job including the pcm and the labor. They are saying that takes up to 4 hour of labor.and honestly I don't have that kind of money right now. I just wanted to know what are the steps or posible risks of installing myself? I know that I will have to get my key reprogrammed after but is there something else that I have to be careful about?
removing the pcm and installing another is no big deal. the pcm has to get programmed and the pats system.( anti-theft).need 2 keys to be program on some models..
@@guayaco-dm3vu I done it alredy. After replacing the pcm I had some one who programmed the keys again you were right I used two keys in order to do so. There are many possibilities. Could be Throttle body or mass air flow sensor or clogged catalytic converter. I wish I could do more to help, but unless your in Houston Texas there isnt much I could do without testing the car myself. Thanks for watching!
@@ADVANCEDLEVELAUTO hey, where is your shop or phone number to your shop?
@@ADVANCEDLEVELAUTO same problem here and I would like to bring my car in
Great video!!
Thank you
But I have question here
I have the same problem with 2010 Mustang 4.0
And the mechanic told me I have to change PCM and I’m not sure about that I would like to know where you work so I can bring my car to you what you think?
I'm located in Houston, TX. Thanks for watching!
Abel Delgado hey 👋 yes I did I change the computer and everything is fine with car now running good and never stalls again
@@heshamismail6782 you went to dealership or you bought it somewhere else?.
Also how was it? The programming and key reset and everything.?
You saved my life bro god damn
Thank you for your service!
Thank you for watching!
Hey if this does bad does it give miss fire ?
Did you ever get an answer on that?
@@janedoe43 no sorry. No answers.
No, you can't put it backwards because it has a one way finger on the fuse
Worked!!!!!!!
Thank you!!!!!!!
where do you get the fuse?
I need help, my mustang 2006 v6 doesnt start, it cranks but doesn't start. I have replace the fuel pump nd is still doing the same thing, i check the inertia button and same thing i check relay and fuze and nothing. Any help idea?
Did you figure out what’s wrong ? I have an 07 throwing up no codes sometimes starts sometimes will only crank and just starting stalling while i was driving
That diode can taste with a multimeter ?
How can I find out if my pcm is bad. It throws 3 o2sensor codes and a lean code and a pedal sensor. I replaced all o2 sensors and still codes. Car losses power and idles low at stops, also the car does rough starts.
👀 did you figure it out?
Very good señor. Regards mate.
Yo this has beeen happening with my 05 Mustang 4.0 same issue where'd you buy the diode??
Where did you end up getting the diode?
@@cameronciampichini9 i went to a junk yard, and got it from anothet mustang fixed everything! They're usually free if it's as small as a fuse.
And all for $560 I bought a remanufactered pcm in flagship one website and took it to a mechanic who knows how to do that kind of programing and that was it. Codes gone. No ore stalling or any other problem.
@@Abeldlg
Glad to hear it.
You solve the problem?
@@Choforo350z Yes my issue was a Bad pcm or computer. The pcm received an insane amount of heat due to its location on the 4.0s v6 engine. So I remember I ordered one off from ebay from a company that sells reconditioned car computers and all my issues suddenly disappeared no more rough idling or no more stalling in the middle of an intersection. A car electrician did helped me a lot because of his diagnostic.
Perfect execution
Where are you located? I have the same problem in my mustang gt 08 i would like you to take care of ir
So what caused the diode to go bad?
My 06 mustang gt is doing this.... no crank no start. No codes tho..
Can I have your shop information? I’m habing the same problem with my mustang.
Dude thank you so much
Glad I could help
My car did the same thing I did this process it cranked but it blew can my pcm be bad or short ?
cris reyes hey just curious did you ever find the problem my mustang does the same thing
My pcm relay keeps popping and making go into limp mode
Great video! Thanks
So I'm having the same problem on my mustang I did exactly what you did yet it still didn't turn on what should I do
Clean the ground cable contact
My car is doing the same thing I have a 2006 mustang gt what do I do
Did you find the problem
Thank you man
Do you live in San Antonio
Will it fix it if the key switch is taken out
Hey man do you have a number on your shop or your cell have a major problem no one can figure it out
Well done.
Got the diode, replaced it , still nothing damnit guess it's going to a mechanic 😢
I have a 05 that willnot start when the switch nothing no inside light no nothing
Man I’ve tried all of this and still no luck. Guess my PCM is shot.
La musica in da back tho 🔥
If this fixes my car I swear to God I'm going to buy some merch. 😆
I hope it works. I've found that it's pretty common for the pcm diode or the pcm relay to fail on Fords.
