    not sure if this video is still moderated, but what is that 4th wire going to the fan connector for? I am in the process of adding external relays to my car right now due to the dreaded burning of the high and low speed connectors and all the diagrams I see show the same 3 wires you pointed out in your video however I am seeing no info on that 4th pin coming from that fan connector. Is it another ground? Is it blank?

    Video was helpful for me, thanks for pointing out which wire is high speed and low speed, that allowed me to connect the stock fan to my LS swap ecu/fan relays.

    Thanks, very informative. I have the same car and it started intermittently overheating. Seems the fan doesn't always come on when it's supposed to (when A/C is on or when temp sensor opens). I added a manual switch to the interior, so if it freaks out, I will be able to ground the high relay and get it cooled down. Your video helped me determine the ground plug for the relay. Big help -- much appreciate it!

      @@morereps1 Hi, sorry I missed your comment. In Lehew's video, I pushed a stranded wire (probably #12) into the gray colored slot on the left (closest to the firewall). Then, just pushed the relay down on top of it. I guided the wire back around the firewall and out to the cabin by the driver's side door. I used a small stick-on toggle switch found on Amazon. If I click it, the fan goes on high. I did use it twice after the first incident. The 2006 Mustang is starting to have lots of wiring problems now...

    • @jbskids
      @jbskids 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JBGaming334 I put the stranded wire into the relay hole and pushed the relay on top of it. Then, connected another wire to the body frame (for ground). I guided both wires around to the driver's side door and tucked it back into the cabin that way. I bought a cheap stick-on toggle switch I found on Amazon and connected it to the plastic near the hood release. By the way, while I was down there, I saw the amplifiers there for the Shaker 500.

    1:24 Two questions, does it matter which direction the relays are plugged in? Ever came across where the fan doesn’t engage when the AC is turned on? I ran direct power to the resistor and low and high speed come on then. Otherwise the high speed kicks in and out while the motor runs

    I just recently bought an 06 mustang and I’m having trouble getting my cooling fan to kick on also . The previous owner has some crazy wiring going on with some DRL headlights he installed . If you don’t mind me possibly getting some advice from you on how I could fix this I would much appreciate it.
    1. The DRL headlights are plugged up where a 15 amp fuse would be .(would this affect it in any way?)
    2. I found one problem where the fuse box has melted where the high speed relay is . I’m currently planning on replacing that this weekend .
    3. How would I go about removing the top part of the fuse box in order to replace it ?

    Hi there! first thanks for your Video. 2nd, i have an issue with low speed fan. High fan speed is ok. so, i turned off my car and hock a voltmeter to the white Pin you shows on your video @ 2:09 (which goes to the fan) and hocked the other terminal to the Light/Green wire on the socket. i got 1 reading. mean the its not complete or its short!! i did that same thing on the high fan lower right pin and hock the voltmeter to the Green purple wire and got Zero! which mean its complete or not short. so what you think? do i have issue on the low fan cable or the fuse box got some issues? if i want to isolate the fuse box issue can i hope a lamp tester to the low fan pins and see if its light ( mean it got signal to command low fan ) ? sorry to bother you and thanks on advance.

      So people know I found out that I had a headlight out traced it back after the bulb didn't work found out that the fan relay uses the same ground as the headlight ground and from what I'm being told from some Mustang guys is that it's actually the headlight that draws too much power with the fan on and it's the headlight wiring harness that kills the fan and the whole thing

      Screw mustang computer problems and fan, fuse, fog lights etc, I just ran toggle switches to everything bypassing fords useless pcm problems, its such a poor build, all these cars have the same stupid computer problems especially when it gets really cold. A year ago it got down to 4 degrees and my car wouldn't start. Okay dead battery, nope charged the battery and it somehow activated the anti theft system and would read the transponder in the key had to take it to Ford and they had to flash the pcm and cut me 2 new keys and guess what the fan still didn't work so I had to run an external temp module to make it come on when it reach the right temp such a pain. If I didn't love the car so much I'd drive it off a cliff because of all the computer incompetence it was built with.

    slowly overheating strangely after my A.C stoped working the car seems to only overheat when at idle
    But the car WONT overheat while I am driving it any ideas? I would appreciate it
    Car doesn’t have white smoke out the tailpipes
    Car haven’t lost any power
    Car radiator doesn’t have any milky water or cap
    Car doesn’t have any water bubbles out the radiator

      Have you checked the coolant hose under the Intake manifold?? It could’ve gone out and be making you lose coolant… there are plenty of video’s that fix that problem… if you smell coolant there has to be a leak… my guess is that hose since it’s the most common thing… the other would be a bad heater core or water pump having a leak

      It takes alot for your pcm to mess up . You need to start at the problem and be good with a meter. And have good wires to figure it out. Thats how i figured it out. I will have to make a video on how i fixed the issue .

    • @bentramell729
      @bentramell729 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@taker52 yea I took it to Ford and they couldn't even figure it out, basically last year in February it got so cold that it did something to the pcm to where it activated the antitheft system and wouldn't read my key and wouldnt start or anything, they dont even really know how they got the car started said they just moved a relay around and had to cut me 2 more keys, but they didn't fix my fog light issue or my cooling fan or ac clutch issue, had to run independent toggles for each because the pcm would just not run them right which everything worked right before the cold spell. Oh and they charged me 500 bucks for their incompetence.

      @taker52 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bentramell729 did they check all the wiring from the climate control system to the ac clutch? Also make sure you have the right amount of oil in the ac clutch. I used a test light and a meter and a bunch of t pins with gator clips to back probe wires . If you are getting the right voltage to it will not work. There are ways to find out if your pcm is dead or sending the wrong sigs . They have ford software that will see it. Even the scan tools will see it and u go verify with you meter thats right.

      @@taker52 well they were just tasked with getting it running so they didn't do much of anything else, I asked a bunch of questions but it didn't seem like they were very equipped with the proper knowledge or skills to handle the issue. Ive got the tester and stuff I mean I could probably figure it out myself but idk I've got a mess under the hood at the moment with about 4 foot of snow and ice setting on it right now, tried to start it to warm it the other night took awhile but I got it going but it overheated it was about 17 below 0 and the wire that runs from the temp control module to the radiator was so cold that im guessing it couldn't register the heat either that or my thermostat was frozen and not opening up idk its been a time dealing with this car, fix one thing and another thing goes wrong.
