Simiilar issue. Engine cranks, runs really rough the dies. I'm replacing the fuell pressure sensor today. Next will be emptying the gas tank and trying new fuel. Issue started just after a fill up. If not then will consider fuel pump. They seriously needed to put a schrader valve on the fuel rail so you could test fuel pressure. Ford saved a buck and created a huge diagnosis problem.
Change your fuel injectors! I went through replacing the fuel pump, the fuel pressure sensor, electronically testing the fuel injectors, and pressure tested the entire system. The problem is that if one ore more of the injectors returns to open position when turning the engine off, the pressure will drop and not trip a fault code. After replacing the fuel injectors and adaptors our 2007 Ford Mustang with the 4.0L runs great now. Hope this helps!
You said it was the ECU? The one that is under the hood in the Elgin compartment or the one on the passengers side foot well called the smart function box.
you may have to remove both of the oxygen sensors on the exhaust manifolds... then crank the car... the catalytic converter may be stopped up and it won't start... Just one of the things that goes wrong with the mustangs.

I did a fresh rebuild on my car as well mustang 2000 you have to crank it till all the oil and gas goes back to normal you might want to connect another car giving it cables give it gas but be careful when it catches on you will end up reving your engine and you don't want that
Blown fuse or fuel pump I’ve seen people buy those cheap ass eBay and Amazon pumps and they were garbage. Either something went wrong during the install of the pump bad pump, bad fuel pressure regulator, or blown fuse that’s connected to the fuel assembly 🤷🏾♂️
i have a similar problem with an 05 split tank no gas gets to the drivers side main pump is it a weak pump not suctioning good enough to push gas to the drivers side main pump or some kind of bad pump that sends fuel from the passengers side to the drivers. anybody know thanks
this happened to mine. replaced all fuel related part. it wouldnt start. should start right. it didnt. lastly pressed fuel reset button next to the hood unlock lever by the steering wheel. started right away. hope this helped.
Hey man honestly I’m having the same issues . Mine will start then it will stumble and if you give it throttle it shuts off . It’s not the inertia switch and I just replaced the pump with the whole assembly and the fuel filter . My fuses are good when I plugged up a computer and told me it was the driver fuel pump module so I’m going this weekend to get a new one one and see if that fixes my issue btw I’m in 01 mustang GT . Problem I had was not getting voltage to the fuel pump from the fuel pump control module. Tracing back further control module wasn't getting voltage. The inertia switch was working properly but there was no voltage at the switch. The problem was a loose fuel pump relay located under the hood in the power distribution box. it turns out that someone had used a voltage /ohm meter testing circuits in the power distribution box, by, probing the tips of the leads into the small holes that fuses and relays plug into, springing the terminal that caused a loose fit on one of the 4 pin relays. Sometimes it made connection, sometimes just driving down the road and engine would die and would not start. This was an intermittent problem that was puzzling to me because check voltage sometimes it was there and sometimes there was none. Possibly the heat from the engine compartment caused the metal terminals to expand just enough to lose continuity. This was a well learned lesson not to probe the power distribution box and possibly damage the delicate terminalsl inside
@@timknight6232did you tighten the terminal somehow? I got an 05 mustang v8 which cranks but won’t start when it’s hot outside, but as the temperature drops during evenings or early mornings then the car does start, it’s driving me crazy

Mine done this when someone sat in the rear seat on top of the fuel pump get off it cracks fired right up

Minewas the gas regulator. I changed the fuel pump and filter and it keep dying . Then i change the fuel regulator and it fix it.
