The 10% concentration of Niacinamide has always irritated my skin. And I fared well with 5% or less. Thanks for putting it so well Doc!

@@Sukhie.g I'm sorry I won't be able to suggest products as we might be living in different time zones, although I'm sure a quick Internet search should fetch you the desired results, just look for products stating the percentage of Niacinamide (either on the packaging /front label or description on the respective website).
Anything 5 or below is fine for me.
As for what you're using currently, if your skin is tolerating it well and you're seeing good results, maybe you're better off continuing with it, BUT if you're still willing to switch to a lower percentage just to be on the safer side, go ahead and explore some options!
I was never able to tolerate my 10% Niacinamide serum so finished it off by mixing (buffering) in my moisturiser. You may try this method IF it causes you discomfort as well.
      Good luck!

Dr. Maxfield, I am new to the station and missed the Q/A. Question about skin hyper pigmentation. I did see the video. Today you mentioned "Out of Sight" by Versed, another video it was mentions "Faded" Which is more effective for increased pigmentation from post trauma....under control as I completed the hydroquinone. My question is for maintenance, thank you

Hi Dr. Maxfield, just fyi, I had a fat transfer to my face in 2017, and, for the most part, it remains on my front cheeks to this day. I had the transfer because I lost weight and my face looked very gaunt, especially the cheeks. The fat remaining is much less than what was was there originally, but still very very good, and even though I have lost more weight my cheeks are nice. Oh, one more thing, the new fat did substantially improve my skin, something I did not expect. Thought you might want to know.

  • @kimcremer9910

I would imagine that as soon as a cell differentiates it's ability to be relocated would be low. I bet there are markers on these cells we haven't discovered that would tell us that this fat cell belongs in the belly and these other fat cells are from the face. Since cells are so unique and specific, I bet there is something that needs to be discovered to explain why fat relocation doesn't end well. Just a thought.

Maybe you can answer my question even though I’m late. I’m over 70 and want to know a good routine for morning and night. Hopefully you can answer sometime soon. I have been using L’Oréal hyaluronic acid with glycolic acid, avant, morning and night. I use moisturizer morning and night as well. Wash my face in the evening with CeraVe Renewing SA cleanser.

Video request-can you review the efficacy of Droplette Skincare, the device that turns your serum into steam which you then point towards your face to deepen penetration via smaller molecules? Reminds me of the heated devices that also claim to increase penetration of serums. Thought you guys could analyze the science behind it and determine myth or fact. Thanks!!

I have been using dermalogica active moist for moisturizer for like 7 years and I’ve never found one that is better. It works all year long for me bc I do not have naturally dry skin. It’s more expensive but I only buy it twice a year. I tried the cerave daily facial lotion and it gave me bumps! Which is usually my indicator that I can’t use a product, so I quit it lol

Which ingredients or products do you guys use for your daily life or special time (party).
Q:- can I use derma co products?
Reason:- they are more affordable and easily available here.( Derma co products are like half of the price of other brands products)
Q:- I have acne scare (old) can you guys suggest me ingredients to minimise them. And also for pigmentation treatment.
I don't want to go with CO2 laser or any other clinical trial.
Note :- I'm not expecting the glass skin. But looking for the maximum result I can get.

Hi Dr. Maxfield and Dr. Shah.
I had a question or questions for the both of you. As a mum I’m wondering when should my child start a skincare routine so to speak? At the moment it just involves water. I know I should include a moisturiser too but I want to be informed before including any, what would you both recommend? Also at what age would you recommend starting a skin care routine and what products would you recommend? Also if acne decides to present it self what would you recommend? Is retinol too much for a teenager?
Also I’m a huge fan, I love and appreciate your honesty and your professionalism (always referring to the science and research or lack of). You have certainly made me question (unfortunately) some of the products I’ve bought but I am hoping to purchase an LED mask although the price tag gives me palpitations! Also the Skinceuticals Vitamin C is on my list. Also have you ever come across Sunday Riley? I’m not sure if this is available in the States. Would love to get your thoughts on their products.
    Love from the UK.
