    Wow. after a year and a half of not enjoying my RAM's full potential, all I had to do was enable Expo 1 from advanced settings rather than just enabling expo from the home screen. Thats fantastic

    You saved me so much hassle. I wasn't too sure about what EXPO/DOCP would do and had to kept to auto on a 7800X3D with 32GB 6400 ram. It was extremely unstable and at times it would black/blue screen. I had only recently read about how 6000mhz was the sweet spot for Ryzen 7 chips and I guess I made the mistake of grabbing 6400 without too much research. Now set to DOCP I, 6400 but set it the value lower at 6000. It loaded much better and fingers cross it stays this way. Thank you so much!

    Oh..This worked for my desktop. 7800x3D, 7900XT, Asus Tuf B650plus wifi, my ram listed in the QVL but couldn't load all the EXPOs(I, II and tweaked) it provided. It lead to the forever black screen and had to have the bios reset every time. I raised up the CAS latency by 2 so it made 32 from the 'EXPO I' load and lowered the clock to 5800 from 6000. Then, My computer started to boot up. I started to play game-The Division 2 with ultra options for all day. No issue so far. With the memory context restore and Power down enabled, the booting speed is 6sec. Thanks for your valuable information. Actually, your suggestion was my last resort. I almost gave up playing with ram over clock as the manufacturer's EXPOs didn't work which was listed in the QVL. Thanks again,.

It was on the QVL with serial number match on ASUS tried DOCP-1 booted but got constant blue screen Critical process died, disabled memory context restore and it’s been running on 7200mhz so far, thank you! If the error persists I’ll come back to this

    I Purchased Ryzen 7 7800x3d and pre ordered a Corsair Dominator Platinum 6200 Mhz CL36 to upgrade my Am4 system to Am5. but lately I discovered that the Ram I bought was for Intel, SKU: cmt32gx5m2x6200c36w
    Question is: Will it work?
    or what will happen if I combine these two?
    I hope to get answers from you! Big Thanks!

      @LocalIT  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ronjezernunez3870 Have a look into your board QVL to see if the kit was tested. If its a non EXPO kit you will need to use XMP/DOCP profile. 6200 maybe a little too much but try it. The sweet spot for 7000 Ryzen is around 6000. If you can't achieve a stable system I would RMA the kit for a certified EXPO one.
      Good luck

    I'm having a strange problem, every time I activate EXPO the videos play with the sound out of sync (onboard audio via HDMI). I have no system problem or blue screen, just slow boot which I fixed by disabling memory context restore. My RAM is not in the motherboard QVL, but it is EXPO and XMP compatible according to the manufacturer.
    I wrote to motherboard support reporting this problem and the explanation for a possible cause would be that this problem where the AM5 processors were being physically damaged was directly linked to the amount of voltage sent to the memories, which overloaded the DRAM module present in the CPU and damaged it. To solve the issue, AMD developed an AGESA update for the entire AM5 platform, which prevented this occurrence by not sending such a high voltage to the DRAMs (so as not to overload the CPUs). With this, the voltage for the RAM was limited to 1.3V.
    This solved the problem but had a direct impact on the functioning of RAM that need more voltage to work stably. Which is possibly the case with my RAM that seem to need 1.45V.
    Possibly, when enabling EXPO and the system is unable to send the 1.45V that the DRAMs originally need, the CPU may have a small systemic delay to process the setup's audio information since the DRAMs are the direct auxiliaries of everything that the CPU processes.
    I'm not sure if this is correct, I need to do some testing. I ended up on this video because I was searching to see if anyone else was having the same problem.
    My setup is new, it hasn't even been a month since I assembled it.

    will these settings low 7700x idle temps? im having 58-60c idle, with some spikes to 70c, on a Noctua NH-D15 with 4 Bequiet 120mm fan. is this normal?

    • @LocalIT
      @LocalIT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The idle is a bit high I must say, but if you are having 70C maximum while stress testing the CPU you are good to go!
      You even have margin to bump up performance with Curve Optimizer.
      PS: Curve Optimizer can drop the idle a bit but it will raise performance and maximum temps.

    Hello sir! I have Asus 650M-K, Ryzen 5 7500f and GSKILL FLARE 5 | (F5-6000J3636F16G) (32GB) 6000Mhz 36CL RAM. When I configured to 6000Mhz, sometimes the BIOS/Windows does not start(I cannot see anything on the monitor), sometimes it does, but when I reboot it does not turn on again. I thought it was fixed last time, but when I was working on the PC again, it suddenly showed a blue screen, gave 2 beeps, the windows and bios did not appear, then when I turned off the PC and turned it on, it reduced the RAM to 4800mhz automatically again and it started up automatically. Is there no solution to this problem? Will it be a problem if I try your guide?

      @@LocalIT ok i have a question does the curve optimizer reduce the temperature of the processor? Also with a performance boost?

    • @LocalIT
      @LocalIT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, Curve Optimizer will lower average temperature of your CPU but can produce temperature spikes.
      Example, you have a normal idle/browsing/gaming average of 40/50/60, after curve optimizer you can get a couple of Celsius lower. But since PBO relies on some limits, like temperature, PBO will try try to boost longer because average temps are lower.
      When boosting, there will be some temperature spikes. Performance will be generally better too.
      Make sure you have a good cooling solution, watercoolers are great because they can absorb more heat than tower coolers.
      Not all CPUs are silicon winners, I cant do - 30 all core but you can start low like - 5 all core then check stability if all is good go for - 10

      Sorry for the delay. Its an option, but a good option. It will lower the CPU temperatures a bit during GPU intensive games. Always had my CPU's undervolted. ;) The downside is, too much undervolt and may cause some instability and crashes.
