Hi Nicole-I have been enjoying your videos. I am zone 4 in Montana and it’s fun to watch someone growing in the same zone. You mentioned sparrows taking over a bluebird house. We had a tree swallow pair that was being pushed out by sparrows and we strung fishing line just to the side of the birdhouse opening and it deterred the sparrows and allowed the swallows to successfully nest. The sparrows don’t have as good of eyesight as bluebirds or swallows so it startles them as they try to enter.

Last year I took all the sweet pea sections I pinched off, dipped them in a rooting hormone and popped them into a 72 plug tray. Every single one grew quickly! Within a week each had tons of roots. I was shocked!!

    Hi flower friend.
Been awhile since I’ve been on.. almost a year! Time flies.. but lots happening now though. I love spring!💐 Have many trays going., I’m a couple weeks behind you.
I have added many varieties this year, excited to see all the perennials and new additions from last fall., and I may have overdone the thumbelina zinnias ... I couldn’t resist them💞. I will be happy to have so many!., I have also collected cactus, Pom Pom, lilliput, giants varieties and I also an trying out strawflowers and coleus -rainbow mix (since I love my hostas!) plans to keep many for indoors overwinter.
I love plants indoors during the winter.
Did I mention I also propagate succulents, cactus and tropicals?. Quite the collection in my house atm. Took over the basement and a sunroom. 😍
I don’t even care to sell any... 😄

With hardening off, instead of playing musical chairs with all the trays at a couple hour intervals, the seedlings can handle the temps during the day but the shade is clutch. If your don't have shade cloth, upsidedown baskets, sheer curtains, thin sheets, etc, anything to temper the sun's intensity and your babies won't get scorched if left out all day. Just check on them in the afternoon that they don't dry out.

I just love your energy. It’s a bit ‘’all over the place’’ but it give me energy. I usually watch your videos right before bed and I always feel motivated to do a bit more or tackle a task with a better happier attitude. Kinda random but that’s why I’m subscribed.
Any who , love the ranunculus update as it’s so foreign to even think about growing them in South Florida (I could be wrong) . I just love it here !

    I have 4 Boxers, They’re like potato chips, can’t just have one!!❤️
Spring is Finally coming! I we had two beautiful days in Pennsylvania, I had every one of my seedlings outside. The next week is going to be in the low 50s and 40s and freezing at night. Such a bummer.

Yes, when you don’t have a rooster, one hen will typically take over as Head B**** in Charge 🤣. Loving your channel ... you always crack me up 😂

My ranunculis are almost ready to go in the ground & I just noticed one is about to bloom! It's only about 6 inches tall... I think I started mine a little too early.. & I just filmed my unboxing of discovering dahlias and OMG! Its beautiful! And packed full of information!

Sometimes the first few blooms are shorter and then they lengthen out! There's hope yet-

Hey Nicole - I’m growing 10 sweet pea varieties Apricot Sprite, King’s High Scent, Mammoth Salmon Cream, Nimbus, Mrs. Collier, Beaujolais, Mollie Rilestone, Henry Eckford, Miss Willmott, and Sweet Dreams. I started 9 varieties indoors and also winter sowed all 10 varieties. Of course the ones indoors are doing well. Will be pinching back today. I haven’t looked at my winter sown jugs lately. I’ll take a peak at those today sometime. I’ve been hardening off my ranunculus, too. I’m growing Cafe Au Lait, Sunset and Gold. Today I’m starting a crazy amount of annual flower seeds, indoors. I’m hoping for a wonderfully colorful display with all the different flowers I’m planning to grow this year. Catch ya on the flip side 💐🌷🌹🥀🌺🌸🌼🌻☺️

It's going to be 8 degrees Celsius/46 Fahrenheit, tomorrow in central Alberta . I didn't get much snow this winter. There's not much left to melt. I pinched my sweat pea seedlings back last year, planted them, and the did nothing afterwards. No new growth, no flowers, but they didn't look like they died. I recently notice on the McKenize seed package, that they are a Perennial Sweat Pea called Everlasting. I thought Sweat Peas are all annuals. maybe I wasn't suppose to pinch these ones back. I didn't pull them last fall, so it will be interesting to see if they come back.

I'm jealous of your bluebird sighting. I had 2 families the first year I moved into my townhouse but never since. Wrens have taken over one blue bird house but not the one originally used. I miss seeing them up close. They are my favorites. Funny story: accidentally overwintered a leopard frog in my guest bathroom! Imagine my surprise.

I watched you pinch the first few sweet peas and then I paused the video so I could run outside and pinch mine. I am trying sweet peas for the first time. I ordered seeds from Ardelia Farm and my four varieties are: Just Julia (violet blue/purple), Sunshine Peach (pale peach/pink), Sunshine Champagne (pale pink & cream), and Sunshine Cerise (hot magenta pink). Looking forward to blooms & fragrance!
