There have been multiple times where I've watched a movie, didn't know Steve Zahn was in it before hand, saw his name in the credits and thought to myself "holy heck, that was him in this movie now that I think about it". What a legend.
Steve Zahn is like a solid NBA role player/journeyman. He'll either play a small but important role on a championship team or a bigger one on a lower-ranked team. He's like an Andre Miller for cinema.
Hold on now getting to that part and he says he didn't even rewatch it, complained that escape from planet earth was a movie for kids not families then refused to watch the good family movie and judged it based on foggy memories from 15 years ago? No respect for the Zahn means no respect to this guy
I hope Steve Zahn sees this video. It feels weird that i saw a lot of these movies in hs journalism class. Maybe my teacher was a big fan of zahn Also, can you make a list of all the movies?
Fun fact: Apparently, Steve Zahn stated that he's military history buff and has said that one of his biggest regrets was having turned down a role in the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers. While this might sound nothing that intriguing, when you learn that his character Frank Heffley in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series is also a fan of US History, having an entire collection of a Civil War battlefield, you begin to realize how much he was trying to stay true to his character. Real shame the movies didn't do more with this or his character.
There are fictional dads becoming amazing characters: Bryan Cranston as Hal Wilkerson from Malcolm In The Middle to Walter White from Breaking Bad. Hugh Laurie as Fredrick Little from Stuart Little to Gregory House from House M.D. I wonder what’s next for Steve Zahn as Frank Heffley to move on to play an amazing TV or movie character that he will become?
Considering he's an actor I've never thought twice about, this is a great video! I never woulda guessed he's been in so many movies... honestly Steve's worked with so many heavy hitters in Hollywood, you could do a 6-degrees with him! Great job!
He's just shown up on the latest episode of Silo as well - only really been in that one episode, but he's definitely shooting for that guest star emmy.
Going to be honest I clicked for 44:20 as That Thing You Do is one of my all time favorite's, and was my first Zahn movie. Enjoyed the full video, you never disappoint
I like that I’ve been getting a lot of really specific youtube recommendations like this. A week ago I was looking up his filmography on wikipedia and I was just thinking about him a few hours ago. Wild
Speaking of underrated media involving a submarine: A show about Indian prisoners stealing the submarine they were forced to build, and using it to defeat the East India company after narrowly escaping fantastic sea creatures just dropped this year. It's by far the most visually interesting and satisfying thing I watch all year. Give Nautilus a try!
I am 30 years old and I have to say his best world to me is playing the dad from the diary of the wimpy kid movies. Those movies are honestly so underrated the comedy is top tier.
Zahn is so underrated, appreciate the deep dive! A deep dive of Peter Sellers would be really cool, he’s such a great actor with such interesting choices
I love how you made a video like this it makes you different from everyone else. I just subscribed and I think you should keep making videos about actors that are not super popular but are cool or bad who knows.
Great video, love the premise of looking at every movie in an actor’s filmography and ranking both the films and how it utilizes the actor. For another one of these I would like to suggest the legendary Keith David or JK Simmons.
Rescue Dawn, easily my fav Steve Zahn role, dude put it all out there, the Director's Commentary with Werner Herzog is amazing, highly recommend listening to that while watching.
I was stunned at how much I enjoyed 8 Bit Christmas. Steve as the father character hit notes of my own dad and set a strong tone to how the movie ended
😮Interesting new style for the video. Would love to see more vids like this of great actors like rob Patterson, Christian bale,Dakota fanning, etc. Plus always sucker for ranking vids
It would be a ton of work, no doubt, but I do like your choices of the two Pauls for the next two of these style of videos. Unexpected but incredibly appreciated deep dive on Steve Zahn. Loved that guy ever since That Thing You Do! (and I agree it's the best film with a major Zahn role)
I used to have a celebrity crush on Steve The Zahn after watching Rescue Dawn. Started a whole Zahn marathon back in the early 2010s or older but I dont seek for his newer work anymore
I laughed so hard at the end where they kill bigfoot then try and film themselves trying to save him. "Unlike when we saw that hippie on fire we leaped into action to save him!"
years ago my family and I watched Rescue Dawn, because we liked Christian Bale from Batman. but Steve Zahn was the performance and the character that we were talking about days later.
I also watched that movie, not a bad movie at all. I think this is also my first Werner Herzog movie I ever watched. Also Hank Thunderman from the Thundermans is in that movie too.
That reminds me when I was younger I set my self to do a marathon of Danny glovers movies So last year I finally got around to doing that It was so funny since some of the times he’d just appeared for a second so some or half of the movies were barely cutting it!
Absolutely criminal giving Strange Wilderness half a star! Its cast line-up is absolutely stacked with heavy hitters, and it arguably pioneered the absurdist humour and 4th wall break tropes that would establish themselves as some of the most important and defining elements of the comedy-sphere (online & in hollywood) in the decades that followed. The shark scene alone is worthy of its own star. Can't believe you did my boy Zahn like that right off the bat.
Oh hey it's you from letterboxd! I also did a Zahnathon, last year, and I was SO GIDDY to see that you did the same. And to see this in my recommended.
Thank you for your service watching all of these movies 🫡 I’ve always loved Steve Zahn ever since I first saw him in Daddy Daycare (which I remember fondly btw). Rescue Dawn and That Thing You Do are definitely 2 of my favorite Zahn performances. Please do Paul Dano next as he is one of my favorite character actors.
I do not know how much effort it would to do this for other actors but I would love to see movies like this. I love to deep dive into the roles of an actor that I only know from 1 good film, in this case Diary Of A Wimpy Kid Seeing someone give praise to an actor who may not be as well known is always great to see
Hey Tom! This video was my first introduction to your content and I thought that you nailed it. The flow through so many different movies felt really natural and I found your comments to be insightful and interesting. There’s a few titles here I’m looking forward to seeing now, thanks for the suggestions and great work!
Idk what your plans are but the content is legit hope u start pumping out more vids and short form content i see you at a million subs in the near future
I can understand not liking joyride but the climax was the best part and Zahns character was supposed to be a little douchey. The middle part when they pick up the girl is the only part I thought was a little slow.
I just kept waiting for That Thing You Do! to pop up. I'm so glad it was number two [but really number one, since he was barely in Crimson Tide]. I've had a massive crush on The Zahn ever since i was a teenager. And i thank That Thing You Do! for starting it. So charismatic.
Just want to say that I don't know your videos (I haven't even watched this yet), but I have never clicked a thumbnail faster. What a beautiful project
clicked on this mainly because i recently watched saving silverman and i thought it was so absurd that i needed to see what someone else thought about it
There have been multiple times where I've watched a movie, didn't know Steve Zahn was in it before hand, saw his name in the credits and thought to myself "holy heck, that was him in this movie now that I think about it". What a legend.
I saw Steve Zahn and clicked
Edit: Daniel Radcliffe is one you should look into
That's a good one he has a crazy filmography
Me too lmao
I like what you did here and might watch the same kind of video for that actor to. @@isenhartproductions2677
Daniel Radcliffe would be such a good list! Same with Bill Paxton. Both him and Steve Zahn are actors I will watch any movie for
me too
Steve Zahn is like a solid NBA role player/journeyman. He'll either play a small but important role on a championship team or a bigger one on a lower-ranked team. He's like an Andre Miller for cinema.
I love the Zahn!!! He is such an underated actor and I thank you deeply for talking about him!
The diary of a wimpy kid trilogy getting anything less than 5 stars is criminal
11:04 giving Daddy Day Care a 2 makes me question your judgement
Ya that movie is 4 stars at least
Agreed. This movie is funnier as an adult and a parent
He says eckspecially so I don't hold much weight in his opinion
Hold on now getting to that part and he says he didn't even rewatch it, complained that escape from planet earth was a movie for kids not families then refused to watch the good family movie and judged it based on foggy memories from 15 years ago? No respect for the Zahn means no respect to this guy
It's a 3 star at best tbh
I hope Steve Zahn sees this video. It feels weird that i saw a lot of these movies in hs journalism class. Maybe my teacher was a big fan of zahn
Also, can you make a list of all the movies?
good idea, I added a link to a list in the description
Found this on Twitter and came here immediately. This is not a stupid video. It’s important.
Brother that scene in Saving Silverman.. where he bends that lamp back.. lives rent free in my head.
Fun fact:
Apparently, Steve Zahn stated that he's military history buff and has said that one of his biggest regrets was having turned down a role in the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers. Real shame the movies didn't do more with this or his character.
You: "This probably won't get many views"
*me when I see this in my recommendeds: "Finally."
There are fictional dads becoming amazing characters:
Bryan Cranston as Hal Wilkerson from Malcolm In The Middle to Walter White from Breaking Bad.
Hugh Laurie as Fredrick Little from Stuart Little to Gregory House from House M.D.
I wonder what’s next for Steve Zahn as Frank Heffley to move on to play an amazing TV or movie character that he will become?
he was pretty good as Mark in White Lotus. Sure, not as iconic as Walter of Gregory, but it's a start.
The fact that he is from a town near my hometown and my dad knew him back in the day is so cool
I cannot see him as anything other than Frank Heffley
I love these kind of actors who aren't shoved down our faces and only see once in a while but they're extremely talented
Steve Zahns performance in Sahara deserves 5 stars and you know it!
i knew i wasnt the only one who thought he was a neat dude
I do not appreciate unironic Stuart Little slander.
My 3 favorite actors of all time are Anton Yelchin, Sam Rockwell, and Steve Zahn. Joyride is one of the best thrillers I’ve ever seen. Great video!
Love Sam Rockwell!
Solid choices. RIP Anton
I’ve been waiting to see Joker and Kong: Skull Island turn up on this list. Turns out I have been mixing up my Steve Zahn’s with my Shea Whigham’s.
They do look like they could be brothers
Jokes on you, you didn't realize how many of us LOVE Steve Zahn
This format is goated isenhart keep it up man
You didn't think this video would get many views, good sir you underestimate how much people love Steve zahn.
Let The Zahn cook
Considering he's an actor I've never thought twice about, this is a great video! I never woulda guessed he's been in so many movies... honestly Steve's worked with so many heavy hitters in Hollywood, you could do a 6-degrees with him!
Great job!
I hope he sees this and appreciates that he is appreciated.
19:30 Video idea: ‘I watched every single Paul Giamatti movie’. & call him the big Matti
I had exactly the same thought.
Steve lives rent free inside my head!!
Same, and he's an excellent tenant
Immediately the best, isenhart video, ever
Steve Zahn is a fantastic actor I hope this video gets a gagillion views
He's just shown up on the latest episode of Silo as well - only really been in that one episode, but he's definitely shooting for that guest star emmy.
National Security was one of my favorites as a kid and I have fond memories of watching it with my dad and an old friend
cant wait to see this video blow tf up. great video need to see more of ur content for surr
Immediately clicked. Such a great video that I never expected to see. I've loved Steve Zahn since Joyride and Saving Silverman
Going to be honest I clicked for 44:20 as That Thing You Do is one of my all time favorite's, and was my first Zahn movie. Enjoyed the full video, you never disappoint

Okay this is actually a bonkers idea for a video… subbed.
I’m honestly surprised watching an actors whole filmography hasn’t become a channel yet
Speaking of underrated media involving a submarine: A show about Indian prisoners stealing the submarine they were forced to build, and using it to defeat the East India company after narrowly escaping fantastic sea creatures just dropped this year. I’m like 5mins into this video. This guy better have liked saving silverman
Zahn is so underrated, appreciate the deep dive!
A deep dive of Peter Sellers would be really cool, he’s such a great actor with such interesting choices
Man this video is exactly what I was looking for
I love how you made a video like this it makes you different from everyone else. I just subscribed and I think you should keep making videos about actors that are not super popular but are cool or bad who knows.
Great work man! I'm a big fan of Sahara as well and glad to see its getting some much deserved love. So underrated!
I'm so tired of being shot at!
-Steve Zahn, and now Mr and the boys when gaming

Rescue Dawn, easily my fav Steve Zahn role, dude put it all out there, the Director's Commentary with Werner Herzog is amazing, highly recommend listening to that while watching.
The best thing he's ever done is the criminally underrated show Treme. DJ Davis was a wicked character and he played him to perfection.
I was stunned at how much I enjoyed 8 Bit Christmas. Steve as the father character hit notes of my own dad and set a strong tone to how the movie ended
“National Security” is a national treasure of a movie
😮Interesting new style for the video. Would love to see more vids like this of great actors like rob Patterson, Christian bale,Dakota fanning, etc. Plus always sucker for ranking vids

1/2 star for Strange Wilderness? Come on, I know it’s not a masterpiece, but it’s not that bad.
I laughed so hard at the end where they kill bigfoot then try and film themselves trying to save him.
"Unlike when we saw that hippie on fire we leaped into action to save him!"
Its honestly the best one on here, def better than Cowthems.

Steve Zahn is the MSG of actors. Your movie might not need him, but he'll make it that much tastier.
My respect for the Zahn has doubled

As someone who may or may not know the Zahn, I know he would really love this!! Also Daddy Daycare and Sahara were worth every five star!
I was in Wildcat, met Steve Zahn on the set breakroom, really cool guy!
Steve zahn looks like he plays rythym guitar in a 70s prog rock band
i give this review 5 popcorn buckets, 2 sodas and a candy bar
Steve Zahn is amazing in Treme, it’s where my Zahnsession began as a boy

That Thing You Do is one of my favorite movies. Excellent video.
First 2 movies are hilarious and I almost turned it off. Love Zahn too much though.
Great video, I would love to see the zahn meter in other non-steve zahn movies as well
They would all get 0 stars for not hiring Steve Zahn to be in the movie.
I'm a simple man: I see Steve Zahn in the title, bust, clean up, and then click on the video.
This was pretty great! More deep filmography dives please.

Putting Joy Ride in a low tier is forgivable because you put Sahara in a high tier. Respect.
I would love to see a look at Owen Wilson's filmography

putting strange wilderness as the low bar broke this entire rating. Strange Wilderness is so fun,

Best Steve Zahn movie is Strange wilderness. No debate, it is a fact.
