Hi! Just came across your videos. Very interesting and helpful. I've just installed a 32/36 on my mk2 transit, 2.0ltr pinto. She runs great, pulls well with very little flat spots. It ticks over fine too, but when I drive through the gears and come to a set of traffic lights or junction, the carb refuses to find idle and the engine cuts out. Any suggestions?
Hi, if your carb has a power valve it is possibly that, the power valve is situated on the other side of the float bowl and works with the accelerator pump. check it out, i hope it helps you.
Is there ever a situation where the accelerator pump gives too much fuel on wide open throttle application from idle causing the engine to stumble or almost die? All of the other tuneup factors are spot on, and the accelerator pump is giving a heavy shot of fuel, what could cause stumble and then Carburetor backfire on wide-open throttle application?
back fire is usually s sign of a very lean mixture, provided the valve and spark timing is 100%, yes i had overfeul situations but then the spark plugs are black and the motor stutter
@ In my situation it seems that the mixture goes lean when the throttle position rapidly opens the secondary butterfly. That is when backfire occurs through the carburetor. Is this a common occurrence in a 32/36 when the secondary opens?
@@67275gtb4 hi, what motor is it and what is your current jetting. ensure the jets and fuel well are clean. if all checks out go smaller on the secondary air jet.
Hi Greetings from Portugal I've been learning with your great videos. Thanks in advance for these! I'm having issues with my 32/36 not pumping fuel. If I could use your help I'd appreciate How could I reach you? Regards
My b has a 32/36 that was working fine for a short while then just gave up, and refuses to pass 30 mph. I cant seem to figure out if its carb or something else happened, the only change I made other than that is exhaust, but it worked fine before. Any ideas?
@@carburettorrebuildservice8964 the seat did come loose at some point, I tightened that back in. It looked like it doesnt pump enough fuel, which it did before so I am not sure, figured something with accel pump. Not sure, first car, first major issue
@@alterra9774 check the pump diaphragm, they do become hard and stop working properly. also ensure the float level is correct and check the filter under the brass nut by the carb inlet.
@@carburettorrebuildservice8964 cleaned the filter, had some debris but not enough to change anything, had a new fuel pump installed about two weeks ago and I checked and float level seemed good, it fills the same which makes me think its the sock or pickup, neither I know where its lovated
I must say i really enjoy learning from you. I'm not new but always eager to listen to someone with something between the ears, lol!!! Thank you. Matt
I am glad i could help you.
Best videos I have seen on Weber Carbs! What size do do drill and tap to get the pin out?
So very helpful, thank you. Makes decision easier

Hi, i am in South Africa, you can Whatsapp me on 060 654 6966
do you know the size of the accelerator pump ball bearing please
I've had the same problem. I was ready to drill out the pin. However I poured a kettle of boiling water over the area and the ball has come loose.
very interesting, thank you for your input
Is it normal for a 32/36 weber to get cold to the point that the whole carb itself is wet?
Yes it does happen, i have never noticed on my one but yes they do get very cold when tuned correctly
What liquid do you use in your ultra sonic cleaner?
On carbs that dis-colour easily or go dark I use dish washing liquid and water, otherwise a use industrial engine cleaner.

Hi, please check the float level, sometimes the needle and seat comes loose, check that, other than that i don't think it is the carb.
