Mate, hi, I really enjoy and appreciate the videos you’ve been making - particularly those focusing on the sorts of performance centric things that I am interested in doing with my 9T which may be a little outside the norm for most owners. Have a question. I noticed straight away from the thumbnails alone that you moved on from this slip-on pretty quickly, and I see from the comments that it was too loud for you. My exhaust is currently unmodified and replacing the headers - likely with the same Akra unit - is a must for me. As far as the slip-on goes, for style and sound, I’m really looking at the S1. Who knows, I may have more of a tolerance for louder systems than you do, but I certainly don’t want a problematic level of attention from authorities (I’m in aus too fyi). I think I’ve gone through all the comments on the relevant videos and it’s not clear to me that you had any knowledge of the optional DB killer from SCProject that’s available for this model. Did you have any experience of this or throughout your time happen to learn any info as to how effective it may be in your opinion?
G'day, Dean. Mate, the S1 is mental loud. There isn't a DB killer for this slip on either. I love a loud, sporty note but with the S1 on, I didn't want to ride my bike. It was excruciatingly loud. If you go the Akra headers with the S1, the cops will have a field day with you. It is basically a megaphone for your exhaust. I really recommend the Conic with the baffle out. Even had someone this morning comment on how nice my bike sounded. Your call of course mate, but if you go for the S1, don't say I didn't warn you!
Thanks for the wise words, mate. After your comment, still with a whiff of hope you were wrong, I finally thought to look at the S1 for other model bikes on the SCP site and saw - some are road approved and some not, so I realised some are designed with the dbkiller in mind and others not where I just assumed they’re all the same. I was also speaking to a guy at SC-P Aus about an alternate model when I made mention of the initial plan considering the S1 on the end of a full open header. Not that I needed it, but his reaction was somewhat reassuring that following your advice about the noise was wise. Made me laugh. Thanks again mate.
Nice choice! The Pure is for the budget conscious - an entry level R Nine T. IMO the Heritage is the way to go and will give better resale results. That's IF you're crazy enough to ever part with it!
In Australian dollars, roughly $1600 for the Akrapovic headers, $1100 for the SC Projects muffler, $60 for the link pipe, DNA air filter was about $70.
G'day, John. That's a rim from a BMW R1200S. It's a 6 inch rim so you can chuck a 190 tyre on it. Mine was silver when i got it bit I had it media blasted and powder coated gloss black.
The flapper restricts the exhaust flow, albeit slightly, and adds unnecessary weight. Removing it is an easy mod and makes the bike sound a little better.
Hi, John. Yep, they fit perfectly. Dont forget - if you want to remove the flapper valve you'll need a small link pipe between the headers and the slip on muffler.
Sold it, mate. Just too, too loud. Went for the SC Conic instead. Comes with a removable baffle and I ride on the road and the track with it out and it has a great sporty note. Plus it doesn't make my ears bleed or attract the cops!
@@thatrninetguy I went thru several exhausts on my Racer, Akrapovic, SC product S1 and by far my favorite setup is the Akrapovic header with Unit Garage Hi mount titanium exhaust
@@tomc878 G'day, Tom. Sounds like a nice setup you've got there. Everything for me was ok until I stuck in a DNA air filter and removed the flapper valve. She just got too noisy. #copmagnet
Sounds absolutely awesome!
Looks and sounds sweet bro
It sure does, mate. But if you go this way, buy earplugs!!
I want this exact set up on my pure
Better buy some earplugs!

Tell me what you put on bike to be loud like this please

What is the difference between the pure and the heritage?. (I Just bought the heritage).

@@thatrninetguy thanks for the info, nice sound by the way.
does it fit the r nine t 2021 ? thanks
Unfortunately not, mate. Only up to 2016 models.
Where did you buy exhaust hanger.?
That's a standard BMW one for a single seat setup, mate.
can anyone provide an approx breakdown of the cost of each part needed to replace stock parts?
In Australian dollars, roughly $1600 for the Akrapovic headers, $1100 for the SC Projects muffler, $60 for the link pipe, DNA air filter was about $70.
What is that rear wheel? Thanks!

Does this exhaust come with a baffle ?
Hi, Albert. No it doesn't.
Noob question: what is the purpose of getting rid of the flapper? Thanks
The flapper restricts the exhaust flow, albeit slightly, and adds unnecessary weight. Removing it is an easy mod and makes the bike sound a little better.
Really loud how did you get rid off the flap?
How about I do a video for you?
@@thatrninetguy that would be awesome mate..
Hi, what are your wheels? BMW but from which model, any mods needed?
Hi, mate. The front is a stock spoked wheel and the rear is from an R1200S. The only thing you need for the rear is shorter (40mm) wheel bolts.
@@thatrninetguy That is what I though. So a front R1200s wheels should be ok too
@@orval21 I'm not sure, mate. A lot of people use R1200R front wheels.
hi, does the akra titanium headers fit perfectly with sc project? or do i need any modification? thank mate
Hi, John. Yep, they fit perfectly. Dont forget - if you want to remove the flapper valve you'll need a small link pipe between the headers and the slip on muffler.
