    You need an AC Schnitzer end can to complete the job.

    Thanks a lot for this step by step guide, it's great, about to install mine! I sanded mine down and it looks SO much better now, crazy they're shipping it out like that!
    A couple of questions: you mention copper paste - where did you use this? And why they hell do they not include this? Did you also use thread locker on every bolt when reinstalling? And how about new gaskets? Cheers!

    • @Janoo609
      @Janoo609  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got copper paste to put in on all the seams and bolts, but when I got the headers they came with two small tubes of paste, so I decided to use the Akrapovic paste. If you look at the instructions it will tell you where to use it and which one to use. In regards of the thread locker, do not use it. You can use the copper paste instead. The reason for the copper paste is so the bolts to not heat seal to the engine. If you look at the 5:20 min of the video, you will see where I am using the Akrapovic paste. Good Luck!

    • @wearelike
      @wearelike 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Janoo609 Thank your for your insights! I ended up using the Akrapovic provided anti-seizing paste on all the joints and the O2 sensors, worked out perfectly, barely any smoke on first start. By the way - in the instructions it says to put the anti-seizing paste only on the inner walls of the female parts of the header parts, that way you don’t have to wipe it down afterwards because you’re only pushing it inwards!
      Thanks again, your video was a great guide!

    does the bike self learn after loosing the cat, or do you have to get it flashed?

    • @Janoo609
      @Janoo609  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The motorcycle does fine after removing the cat and you do not need to get it flashed. What is recommended is to add a fuel controller, but it is not required.

    I know that this video is 2 years old but I have a question: in the end of the video I see that is remounted the stock silencer but without the valve, I have a Scrambler with the double Akrapovic stock silencer, can I mount the Akrapovic Header and use the valve? There is some sort of issue with this header without catalitic converter?! some people in various forum say that are a lost of power on low rev.

    • @Janoo609
      @Janoo609  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, you can install the headers with the valve as well. There is no issue with removing the cat, I actually had the bike like that for a while and everything was fine. Eventually I did install a fuel controller because the bike tends to run lean, and the controller will add that extra boost needed to run great. My suggestion is that if you get the headers, get the Rapid Bike Evo or Power Commander to complement the installation.

    Great vid I want to get it for my 2018 r nine t scrambler but when I saw the piece at revzilla it say it requires the linkage pipe for installation and that it is compatible only with the slip on exhaust, do you know if this is the case?

    • @Janoo609
      @Janoo609  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not sure about the 2018 model, but I know the latest models have a third sensor on the back of the catalyst. Look for Pier City Motorcycles here in TH-cam and they have a video of the tutorial to replace the headers as well. In their video they have a R ninet with the third sensor and they show how to connect it to the headers with a link pipe. I think that is what Revzilla is referring to. Good Luck!

    • @xlride
      @xlride 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Janoo609 thank you for your replay and in your scenario you didn’t needed it correct? Great job on refinishing the pipes. Do you think it was good investment?

    • @Janoo609
      @Janoo609  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@xlride No, I did not needed the linkage pipe because my bike does not have the third sensor, it only has two. My reason for replacing the headers was not for performance. A lot of guys are trying to get two extra horse power by replacing the headers, in my case, I was looking for a little bit more noise. I watched multiple videos online to try to hear the difference between the stock and catless headers. There was not a single video where I could actually tell the difference, so I took the risk and replaced the headers. It is not until you hear it in person that you notice the difference. I honestly like the stock muffler, and I think is sounds amazing with the new headers, but the sound will not make you deaf. It has a nice sound to it without being too aggressive. I bet if you replace the muffler for a shorter one or more direct one, then the bike will sound like a beast. To me, this was a good investment because I got exactly what I wanted for a fair price. There are more expensive systems out in the market, but the Akrapovic has just what I was looking for: a fair price, simple design, and perfect sound

I found a lot of people who had second thoughts about buying this heathers, and I hope people can see the process to make them look perfect; mainly becase they are the cheapest, seamless, and really good quality. They are worth every penny
