Does a PCV work with a Translogic quickshifter? Turns out it does! Why did I go for a Power Commander and not a Booster Plug or Rapid Bike system? Well, I've had several Power Commanders over the years and they've been great. Can't wait to get the old girl dyno'd and custom mapped - any guesses as to any power gains? Getting 107.5hp now. Leave your guess in the comments!

hi question which rim you have from which motorcycle
Hi. It's a 6-inch rim from a BMW R1200S. 👍
Looks great. How much roughly was the new suspension. Had a 90 since 2015,and it might be a mod i might consider.
I got mine for around AUD$1500. Well worth the investment, mate.
@@thatrninetguy mucho gracious
Iv just cleaned my bike today, I have a titanium end can and something iv used has left stains, I'm hoping this will work on it as I have some autosol
Thx. Great tutorial. Did it the same way. Even could remove the old shock without removing the wheel.
Well done, mate.
Excellent video. Very intelligent solution. A real time saver as well a money saver. I will try this on my 2023 R 9T ( Rizoma Ma 009 R) handlebars.
The valve also controls back pressure. You will loose low end torque due to lack of a pogo effect.
Removed mine and lost no torque, according to the Dyno. Gained some and HP with de-cat and fuel commander. Not much, but much nicer engine response, and above all,the piece of mind from richening the fuel/air ratio throughout the rev range. A must in my opinion, to run cooler. Essential for any modern motorcycle, as set horribly lean for emissions.
Hey, great video! I’m installing mine tomorrow, did you do any settings or is it really plug&play? Cheers!
Good stuff. Totally plug and play, mate. You're gonna love it!
What is the ride like afterwards do you need to mess around with the front forks?
Hey, Rajinder. The ride was so much better - no more getting blasted out of the saddle when you hit a bump. Re. the front forks, shortly after I put in some Ohlins cartridges that were set up for my weight. It rides really, really well now.
@@thatrninetguy I'm having the same problem! What do you recommend get rear shock or both rear and front?
EVERYBODY has the same problem, mate! Haha Definitely do the rear first and see how you go. I went for front cartridges as I was riding the bike on the track - i needed the adjustability.
@@thatrninetguy I'm like 120kg dry will the shock be able to handle me? The road is my track so i might need front also surprised they put such a suspension on a expensive bike and got away with it.
@@rajindernijjer When you order your shock, tell them that you're a big unit and they'll have it set up just for you. You're gonna love it when you feel the difference.

Hello, I have same 2015 R9t classic. Can you please tell me part # for this quick shifter? On the site only for R1200S.

Yes, mate. Up only though.

@@thatrninetguy Thank you!
Just planning to get one R Nine T, this would be useful in the future. Thank you!
Nice review..were you tempted to slap on a phat 200mm rear? No mods required for the 6" \, other than shorter bolts?
Yeah, I was tempted but stuck with the 190 due to being better for the track. And nothing needed other than the bolts.
thanks.. Hel brake lines are sweet Top Tip: these days Brembo 34mm M4's are 'cheap as chips', as S1000RR bros trade up to Brembo stylemas.

No issues at all, mate. And yes, very satisfied. 👍
so was it the night and day difference? was it worthy?
Hi, mate. Oh, yes. Huge difference. The roads here in Australia are sh!thouse and the stock shock would blast me out of the seat and pulverise my spine. Defs worth it.
@@thatrninetguythanks, so I understand front suspension is not that bad and works well with Ohlins.
@andrewsoldan6050 Yeah, mate, not too bad. Mine's a 2015 and the front forks are adjustable, so I chucked in some Ohlins cartridges. Handled beautifully around the track.
What wheels are on the bike?
Stock front and an R1200S rear, mate.
You won’t feel the difference riding it with the eliminator, you are not chasing 100th’s on a lap time. I’ll be leaving mine in on my 2018. Unless I want to change it for looks which is a different reason for doing it. But crack on mate 👍🏻
Yeah, mate, I agree. You're not going to notice the difference. My main reason was to see how much power I could extract out of the motor. Deleting the valve took that minor restriction away.
Removed mine as there's less to go wrong..... and they do. Very prone to seize due to the heat and carbon. Plus, looks far better without the cables, motor and clutter etc.
is it set to standard height or did you go for a +25mm?
Standard, mate. The 190 rear tyre gave me an increase of 5mm, which I found to be perfect.
Which tune did you add because doesn't it need a tune with the header and air filter upgrades?
Hi, Randy. I ride her pretty hard and have taken her to the track a few times so I wanted to be absolutely certain that the AFR was spot. So with a new air filter, headers, and muffler, I played it safe and went with Power Commander and had it custom mapped to get 111.7hp at the wheel. She's a pokey thing to ride now, that's for sure.
If I only change my headers and pipe and nothing else on a 2021, would the bike be okay without a tune or will cause long-term damage? @@thatrninetguy
@rl_31123 G'day, Randy. I've heard that the ECU can adapt to changes but as I ride pretty hard, I leave nothing to chance. Always worth the few hundred bucks to get your bike dynoed just to make sure. As a bonus, you'll also see how much more power you've gained.
Nice videos, can you tell me about the little 6 torx on the back of the cluster. Are torx 9 or smaller? Thanks.
Vagiclean also works really well….
You have very strong hands, ever considered becoming a hand model?
Gonad grey?
Nice flames!
Great idea that’s useful for light things, but from what I’ve been told is the frame is needed if a pillion is riding along as the tail needs the added strength. 🏍️🤙🏽
Sure. Of course, if you were carrying a pillion, you'd need the original frame with the pegs.
It's not really a restriction fully open as the Cat is just upstream of it and all the flow comes through and is split at the valve. It won't really affect back pressure as the Cat also (mostly)controls that. It's there mostly for noise emissions but yep, a great idea to remove and code it out or use one of the several dongles on the market which you fit across the servo to disable it without throwing a code from the ECU. The alternative is to remove the actuator cables and leave the valve in place in the fully open position. Next to no difference in performance.
What is a servo buddy for please? I have purchased the link pipe n buddy to do flapper removal
About to dive into this... and foreshadowing I'll be cussing at myself that you're able to remove the fuel lines one-handed while holding a camera better than me with 2 free hands lol.
That does sound like some bmw shit, or VW specifically
I guess you have other issues
Thank you
You should put What year, make and model bike is in the title.
Thanks, mate. Just sorted that. First time I've created one of these shorts, and I thought it only went to my subscribers. Thanks again.
Will this flapper delete and servo cables detached works fine with rninet 2014-2016 models without warning lights?
Yes, mate. Mine's a 2015 so if you follow the video to the letter, you'll have no warning lights or other problems whatsoever.
hi can it clean orginal akrapovic exhaust?
Yes mate, absolutely.
Hi. Just bought a r9t and enjoying your videos. Good job and please keep ‘‘em coming.
Since these girls run warm to begin with have you had any heat issues? 1yr since this upload, you asked for 1k subs and I see you are at 1.32k... Congrats!
G'day, mate. No heat issues whatsoever. Just make sure if you muck about with intake and/or exhaust you get it dyno'd to check the AFR. I ride mine pretty hard but no probs at all. Yeah, 1.32k subs - crazy! My kids didn't hink I'd get 10! Life and work has gotten in the way a bit but I hope to upload a few more vids soon. All the best.
What does the valve do other than making the bike overheat and consume more fuel?
Damn fine question! If I were to guess, I'd say it was to quieten the bike at low revs.
At low RPMs, the valve partially closes to create backpressure. This aids in scavenging and prevents reversion, which improves low-end torque.
Hello Mark, greetings from Paris. Thanks for the great vids. I have 2 questions need ur feedback based on ur experience.. 1) is an R Nine T comfortable on long rides (+500km per day)? 2) Is it DIY friendly for all repairs (mechanical/electrical) ? Do you get OEM spares, diagnostic tools easily in open market or u r stuck with BMW only. Appreciate your inputs please.🙏
Hi, mate. To answer your questions, I have done some 500km rides and it is very comfortable. And yes, it is very easy to work on. I buy OEM oil filters and crush washers from my local dealer but oils etc, I buy separately. Don't be scared to work on the bike yourself - there is a lot of info out there. All the best.
@@thatrninetguy that's encouraging Thank you so much 😃👍
Does it equate to a 15% restriction, or does it simply divert the flow slightly 🤔
Well, technically it would only divert the airflow but my point is it restricts the free flow of the exhaust.
Disconnect the battery *negative* first!! Then when you accidentally contact the chassis while undoing the positive your spanner doesn’t melt!
Anything Fred Gassit says, I do! Full disclosure here, most of my vids are filmed at night. Dan Murphys is a few hundred metres away, so that might answer a few questions.
Installed rapidbike - felt more hp immediately
I did the same method on my bike today. The result is amazing, thank you for ur video :)
Great video Scott! I have upgraded to Tractive X-Perience-PA shock and Adreani Cartridges on the front BUT I'm still trying to find a way to increase ground clearance. Any advice would be much appreciated! thanks
Thanks, Jaime. Mate, the easiest thing to increase ride height (and therefore ground clearance) would be to go for a 190 rear tyre. You COULD squeeze a 190 on a 5.5" stock rim but it would change the profile into something too triangular. I found myself a wheel from an R1200S and chucked on a 190/55R17, and this increased ride height by about 5mm - 13/64", in case you use that silly imperial measuring system. Worked a treat. Hope this helps you, mate.
I replaced my (bike's)airfilter And it looked like it was never replaced in its life, (even the back side was dirty) 60 000 services (I don't think the dealership ever replaced it) I changed to another dealership
Hi, Jonathan. IF you replaced the standard BMW with an aftermarket filter such as a K&N, the dealership will not touch it when servicing your bike. They SHOULD let you know that they haven't serviced it though.
What is that rear wheel? Thanks!
G'day, John. That's a rim from a BMW R1200S. It's a 6 inch rim so you can chuck a 190 tyre on it. Mine was silver when i got it bit I had it media blasted and powder coated gloss black.
I like your handlebar. It looks comfy. How do you like it ?
I love it. Very comfortable and makes the bike look a bit sportier.
