One thing I enjoyed with Lu Bu's demon fight was the parry for his fireball, he parries it back at you and you have to keep parrying it as the ball of fire gets faster and faster, and it turns into a tennis match lol kind of like some of the Ganon boss fights in older Zelda games.
Guess what: they buffed Taotie like crazy. Now it's not only the worlds worst boss, but one that also takes forever to beat and easily depletes your health with cheap ranged hits you don't see coming before even reaching phase 2.
Amazing game. Just finished it on standard mode. Was able to beat Blindfold Boy first try. The game definitely prepares you well for the fight. No doubt the toughest boss for me was Lu Bu. As mentioned in the video though, it never feels like you were cheated and once you finally beat him, you will certainly have a better grasp of the game. Most of the later bosses were very cool and a few tricky, but with lots of heals and a lot of practice learning to parry and deflect, most of them I killed in one or 2 tries. Really fun game. Maybe time to get back to Sekiro and see if this game has helped me improve lol.
Pro tip: You can use the Toxin Bubbles spell on the ground to completely negate Liu Bei's ground lightning. Stand in the toxic pool, and you are safe. Spell counters are your friend.
Also Vemon Snare not only completely neutralizes Liu Bei's thunder spells, he also takes poison damage on top of it. Actually any boss that spams Thunder spells are horrible against Venom Snare.

This game was also pretty fun but surprisingly easy overall. Lu Bu, Dong Zhou, and Blindfolded boy were the only real hard bosses imo, but almost all bosses were fun. I really like Yuan Shao aesthetically, and it was nice to have a water based boss for once, but man I wish he was an actual fight. A lot of bosses in this game are sadly too easy, especially when they have some pretty cool ideas behind them. Seriously a fantastic game that becomes mediocre thanks to a lack of variety.
I literally got the title “vanquisher of demonized yuang shao” on my first try(no damage). I think it was partially luck but honestly that boss was just a punching bag, I’d expect a late game boss to be challenging

Team Ninja games are both too bright flashy and too dark at the same time for me. It's difficult to me to see enviromental and boss details and the aesthetics feels too similar and saturated
bosses and everything aside, Wo Long feels kind of hacked out. The combat/weapon system is not nearly as deep and adjustable as Nioh 2s, the menus and especially character/enemy entries have uncontrollable auto-scroll for some reason and I could swear, before the first patch, the buffs/debuffs didnt have an icon, making them effectively useless.
I’ve noticed that too, a lot of the features feel “rushed” for lack of a better term. Haven’t finished the game yet, but the lack of any kind of interim between missions is driving me nuts, whenever you beat a mission it immediately cuts to a cutscene then begins another mission. And the bloody lock on targeting when you’re facing multiple enemies, god damn is it awful. Which is unfortunate cause fighting multiple enemies in this game is an aspect it does better over Nioh
Since there's a season pass hopefully team ninja will add more enemy variety for future dlc but I'm not gonna have high expectations. I do at least expect dlc bosses to be great considering the quality of bosses in this game were definitely better than Nioh 1 and some of the bosses are on par with the best in Nioh 2. Also I just knew you would put Lu Bu at number 1. He's easily one of the best bosses team ninja have made for any of their games. He lives up to his name as a powerful warrior and though I'm not knowledgeable on Chinese history I did know the name Lu Bu. Most people would probably consider him both the hardest and best boss in the game and it's hard to disagree so I'm hoping we'll get something even better for the dlc. As for my opinion on the game I think it's great. The enemy variety is disappointing but there are at least some good levels in the game with some interesting design and nice visuals. Combat was definitely the best part about the game and I'd say it's better than Nioh 1, but not quite as amazing as Nioh 2 so a solid 8/10 seems fair. Great game but we'll see if dlc changes the quality in the future.
I absolutely hate Dong Zhuo for 2 reasons: 1. his rock/knife throw is was too hard to react and even if you do parry, some still hits you. 2. His combo finisher that hits you 5 times and does 100% of your hp, pretty sure it's a bug tho, it makes no sense
Lu Bu 1 is a great fight but the horse definitely weakens the experience for me. It’s invulnerable and Lu Bu takes no health damage while on it, stretching out the fight a bit. I also don’t like that it circles the arena like an odd Merry-Go-Round while fighting Lu Bu directly. Just feels a little too artificial.
It’s a shame that yuan shao has (in my opinion) the BEST theme in the game, it goes so insanely hard just to have the Midwest bossfight of all time attached. My too 2 are definitely Lu bu and zhang Liao.
Zhang Rang and all his fuckboys stagger for a couple seconds when you kill a clone, so it's not actually that hard to jump from one to the next with criticals. Still a pretty awful fight though. Also Xiahou Dun getting randomly shot by an elixir arrow isn't that much of an asspull story-wise, considering he was indeed shot in the eye in RoTK. Fuck that fight though, bro is absolutely slathered in particle effects and I can never tell wtf he's doing
I loved the Dynasty Warriors series (up to 7. Last 2 were whatever is below awful). This game brought me right back to the lore of the series which I always enjoyed (no matter how goofy & cheesy it got, lol). I won't pretend to like souls games. I think they awful because they are so f'n slow. (slow speed is probably at the top of my list of things I cannot forgive in a video game). This game on the other hand was satisfyingly fast & fluid & I loved that. Even though a little on the difficult side at times (for me), I've enjoyed several of Team Ninja's games (Nioh & Ninja Gaiden series), this 1 I is hands down my favorite. Aside from a few stupidly cheesy (& poorly designed) boss fights, I thoroughly enjoyed this game. So much so that I played it thru to completion on two separate accounts.
going to be honest i think xiahou dun was the worst boss I had to fight so far, stupid fire gimmick was so annoying to deal and the two critical attacks they had felt like they had way too similar of starting animations. that is not to mention that the level leading up to it and the story surrounding it were pretty meh overall
I just don't get the Lu Bu difficulty hype. He's not easy by any means but I literally beat him on my second try and I'm nothing special as a player. Zhang Liao was significantly harder for me
I feel like my experience with this game is very different than I've seen most others talk about. Weirdly enough, I beat Blindfolded Boy first try. And I didn't struggle at all with the first boss, Zhang Liang. And I found a lot of the bosses that others claim to be the easiest to be some of the hardest, and vice versa. Hardest bosses for me were Human Lu Bu (took me like a million tries; I almost gave up because at that point in the game I literally had no idea you could go back to the Hidden Village whenever you want and had only upgraded my gear twice with the two random encounters with the blacksmith), Embodiment of Demonic Qi, Taotie, and Baishe.
Thumbs up for noticing moves copied from previous titles lazily. However, please learn chinese pronunciation a little. Hua Xiong is more like hwa shee-ong.
I can't watch full video since I haven't beaten the game so will be back to finish it Also just so you know Ik you secretly Love Zhang Rang more then you love Satan(you can't hide from the truth)
Zhang Liao definitely needs to be higher way to many fire people below Aoye 😂, Lu bu was a cool fight couldn’t see shit so it gets knock down a few for me first encounter Lu Bu is better
I was straight up going to unsubscribe if i didn't see Zhang Rang at the bottom 3 at most. Utter garbage fight. Otherwise i think you're almost spot on with the list, except for Zhang Liao not being top 3. He's so aggressive and has such a great moveset that you actually have to respect for most of the fight due to his hyperarmor.
Despite its flaws it’s definitely a fun time I’m having so far. Despite some janky ass hit boxes 😂. I still do prefer nioh 2 overall but the combat system definitely surpasses it. Overall 7/10
Well like I said in the intro, it's based on just my build so not everyone's gonna experience it the same. For me some like yuan Shao were definitely easy.

Yeah the colors, effects and particles from the animation while fighting are especially in wo long way too strong
Dong Zhou, lubu, Zhang Liao, and lui bei are so fun to fight
bosses and everything aside, Wo Long feels kind of hacked out.
Lu Bu in my opinion is probably The best boss not just in wo long but nioh too
Since there's a season pass hopefully team ninja will add more enemy variety for future dlc but I'm not gonna have high expectations.
Yo magicat with the dlc most bosses got new attacks and improved AI. Maybe u should rank them again
Are you going to so Stranger of paradise?
Doubt it
How did you like the gank squad in the one sub mission
I absolutely hate Dong Zhuo for 2 reasons: 1. his rock/knife throw is was too hard to react and even if you do parry, some still hits you. 2. His combo finisher that hits you 5 times and does 100% of your hp, pretty sure it's a bug tho, it makes no sense
His spear spins like a drill as a finisher, that why it hits so many times.
Is this game short? What would the game time compare to Nioh 2?
It's a fair bit shorter than nioh 2 I'd say, but not exactly short no
Wo long 20-30 and in nioh I had with the dlcs like 80 hours
How is magicat so good at video games he can play through this entire game and rank all the bosses in like 5 days
Say that to the guys who upload all the collectible videos or set guides etc. Thats way more stuff to cover in such time xD
@@kingdomsoul8968 how dare you be disloyal and disrespectful to magicat
@@decca1810 i just can my man my opinion i superior to me xD
Lu Bu 1 is a great fight but the horse definitely weakens the experience for me. It’s invulnerable and Lu Bu takes no health damage while on it, stretching out the fight a bit. I also don’t like that it circles the arena like an odd Merry-Go-Round while fighting Lu Bu directly. Just feels a little too artificial.
That's not true, he does take health damage, its just the spirit that resets
Bosses are good but goddamn, Zhang Liao and Xiahou Dun are confusing as shit to look at. I wish the visual effects weren’t so bright.
Team ninja know how to make fun games but they don't know how to make fun bosses
Besides lu bu that guy was epic
Nioh 2 has amazing boss quality
Is the game playable finally playable on PC?
It’s a shame that yuan shao has (in my opinion) the BEST theme in the game, it goes so insanely hard just to have the Midwest bossfight of all time attached.
My too 2 are definitely Lu bu and zhang Liao.
This game was good and the gameplay is great
Sun Jian isn't a main boss or? Haven't fought against him
He is
Zhang Rang and all his fuckboys stagger for a couple seconds when you kill a clone, so it's not actually that hard to jump from one to the next with criticals.
Magicat is my father.
Lu Bu definitely the hardest boss n the only boss i fight without even hitting, just deflecting 😂😂
Idk but zhang rang battle sounds like an skill issue to me
Zhang Rang was super easy for me.
Is this game good?
I just don't get the Lu Bu difficulty hype. He's not easy by any means but I literally beat him on my second try and I'm nothing special as a player. Zhang Liao was significantly harder for me
nicee
xiahou dun move set is good, but dont like his appearance, it like a black thing with a flame wing, so hard to see his movement
I didn’t press play yet, but I’m putting Yuji in garbage tier. That 2nd phase where he takes up 80% of your screen is aids 😅.
I'm enjoying the game, but wish parry was mapped to the block button, not dodge! Combat would be so much better!
You don't need to dodge in this game though. If anything they should've removed dodge altogether to avoid accidental double tapping parry
@@MarthisEh You're right. There's absolutely no reason to dodge.
not sekiro combat. ninja gaiden combat 1:00
Bro zhang rang is completely neutral, not good or bad
Thumbs up for noticing moves copied from previous titles lazily. However, please learn chinese pronunciation a little. Hua Xiong is more like hwa shee-ong.
Why would I? I'm not gonna move to live in China, I thought it'd be funnier anyway if I tried and failed at pronuncing their names
I can't watch full video since I haven't beaten the game so will be back to finish it
Also just so you know
Ik you secretly Love Zhang Rang more then you love Satan(you can't hide from the truth)
Taotie is personally the worst boss I've faced in any game. I like the game tho
Did ya ever meet the big pervert wood in Dark Souls 3? 😅😅
It's not LIU BEI - it's LIL BAE 😁
Zhang rang is easy if you have beckoning pine and 2 companies
Lol by time i beat level 1 i was level 30 lmaooo wo long is fun.
Hua Xiong is pronounced like wha shong
man they are not easy, but you are super tanky, i got on shot with attacks that barely take your HP lol, that way your gameplay is far more forgivable
Well like I said in the intro, it's based on just my build so not everyone's gonna experience it the same. For me some like yuan Shao were definitely easy.
It’s hua shiong
Man. Magicat, I love your content, but what it have killed you to spend like 10 minutes tops learning how your some of these Chinese names are pronounced? Like how to pronounce xi and zh sounds. As someone who took Mandarin for a couple years It was pretty cringe hearing your pronunciation and it's not even hard to figure out or find out how you're supposed to say it.
I thought it was funnier to just butcher the names instead, sorry you found it irritating. It was a conscious decision, not really laziness.
Didn't expect to see Zhang bao so high up. He's only a bit better than Zhang rang IMO.
