What I love is how Zaleskar says he's proud of his heritage because he wears an open-faced helmet. But in the game's coding ANY headwear conceals your identity as an undead, even a hat that doesn't even cover the top of your skull, let alone your face. So by the rules of the world, if a thin piece of cloth on your head is enough to make people forget undead are a thing, then they helped Zaleskar not knowing he was undead, because they're idiots. Not his fault the sanctuary can't see through his open-faced helmet.
Why does this make me think of videos where a guy is imitating a woman by putting a towel across his head to look like long hair 😂 Everyone is just dumb AF and just accepts “someone wearing a hat couldn’t possibly be not alive - because why would undead wear hats”
It’s weird that there are actually a handful of characters who will comment on an unmasked undead when most of the game is clearly designed without that possibility accounted for.

Some magisters (I forgot where) have also pointed out that Dallis began to change for the worse ever since Vredeman became her advisor, although it's unclear if it's because Fane's Daughter replaced the real Dallis or if it was Braccus's influence. It all comes to a head when you're doing the Anathema questline, at the end of which Tarquin reveals that it's for killing the Source King himself (which is something that we saw coming at that point). As for Vredeman choosing to "let loose" at that exact point in time, this doesn't have an in-lore explanation but my theory is he was only pretending to be controlled so he can get as close to Lucian's Tomb as possible. His plan of using Bishop Alexander to get close to godhood under the guise of "training" him was a bust after all. He was probably hoping for the 2 sides to face-off at the end so he can sieze all the source for himself. However, as the last part of his plans didn't seem to be going his way, he had no choice to but finally reveal his power in a last attempt to regaining his former glory. I hadn't played DOS1 so it's interesting the stuff I missed about him. Most of the commenters who mention it was hinting at him had played DOS1 from what I'm seeing now. Don't know if you'll read this but really enjoyed the video and seeing sides of a game that I and friends(enemies) played 80 hours in and would never have seen organically.
What blast from the past. Still one of my favorite games of all time. One of my favorite runs was 4 Undead (you can, or could back then start the client several times create a lobby with your running instances and make a party of all custom characters). Though I didn't go fully unmasked, it certainly wasn't a 'nice' playthrough, and those deathfog barrels came in handy like in your playthrouigh. Also, love the puns!
I would love to see a breakdown of what I consider the best quest reward that isn't a piece of gear. Lohse's song. I remember sitting in amazement, with my friend, as she broke out the lute after killing the Doctor, I got chills up my spine. As a Boomer Gamer, who started with pong, I still think that moment, that fantastic song, that unusual payoff; was one of the best quest rewards of all time.
That Braccus Rex reveal at the end really only works if you played DOS 1. Which is notable because DOS 2 was the first game Larian made that TRULY exploded in popularity BG3 is effectively Larian's first chance to make a game with the budget that matches their talent, and in that regard it becomes obvious just how talented and passionate their teams are.
I’ve read that a lot yeah. I loved every moment of DoS2 except for that boss fight tbh so I’m not gonna complain too much. BG3 really was great but I miss Divinity combat so I can’t wait for whatever they’re making next
@@ProxyGateTactician I really do like Divinity's combat. THough admittedly, BG3 has a TON more options when it comes to buildcrafting, whereas DOS 2 mostly just boils down to "Armor shred then CC" I do think that if/when DOS3 (or whatever the next Divinity game is called) Larian will be able to finally perfect the Divinity combat system. In all honesty, my biggest hope for DOS3 is that they finally get a concrete settlement on the worldbuilding. Divinity has a wonderful world, and I particularly LOVE the Ancient Empire and its History. Given that in like, 90% of the endings, the Ancient Empire remains the strongest force in Revellon, I can only really see it playing a massive role in the invasion from Nemesis that DOS2 pretty blatantly alludes to
One thing I always love about Larian's games is that regardless how many hours I have, I will always learn something new about them. I didn't know about the hidden passage to the source temple and that Dallis turns into a dragon if you force her out by defeating her in act 1-2, or Malady's snark for unhooded undead. Almost 900 hours of that game, it got me to get instantly into BG3 early access when they announced it :)
I have too many hours in this game and didn't even know you could loot those deathfog barrels on the intro ship. I'm learning something new all the time
I now understand how to effectively combat racism and discrimination; chemical weapons, questionable business connections, dark forces, indiscriminate murder, civil conversation that leads to said indiscriminate murder, and boning. Lots of boning.
Your vids are super fun for someone who’s new to RPGs! I’m in act 3 of BG3 rn and your vids are helping me build interest in other play throughs there and in other games like DOS2. Keep it up!
Divinity Original Sin 2 is still great even if now we have BG3. I would like so see some DOS2 from times to times to break it up a little bit instead of just all videos being bg3 related.
im actually in the middle of my first two playthroughs of dos2, a relatively normal singleplayer and a chaotic multiplayer one with a friend! would love to see more dos2 videos like this from you
You wake up on a beach in Divinity Original Sin, which would make BG3 the 3rd Larian Turn Based where you start on a beach :D Div 1 was amazing for the broken builds you could make, leech and zombie Div 2 was amazing for the scope and scale, with mods it has some of the best bonus classes BG3 is Game of the Year for a reason. Love these vids, keep them coming Proxy
I don’t know if you’ve been told this before but your videos remind so much of MittenSquad’s Skyrim and Fallout videos. He passed away about 6 months ago now. His videos were awesome and always brought a smile. Thank you for your videos they are awesome keep them up and you’ll grow big. :)
I can list way too many games that start off with "ship crashes, you wake up on the beach with nothing". It's become just as bad a cliche as goblins, spiders and drow, oh my.
Bracus Rex is like the main dude in every piece of lore you pickup. He's legend in the game that you find out is behind it all. I'm not sure if you were joking or what when you said he just randomly appears at the end.
He’s mentioned in lore during act 1. Then almost never during act 2, 3, and 4. Other than by Tarquin. Compared to Dallis who is in ur face constantly and felt like deserving of the last boss title. If they didn’t hide the dudes identity I wouldn’t have been as bothered by it
If you never tried I'd recommend it for sure. It's still a fun game. Very similiar to BG3, but after re-playing I realized the story wasn't written as well. The combat system itself though I like more than BG3's
I tried to love this game after playing the BG3 EA while waiting for release. I just couldn't... I wanted to, but the combat armour system just seemed so janky and everything I encountered seemed to bypass my armour somehow. Congrats on the success! I wouldn't mind seeing more of this game either!
Combat in this game is less.... combat and more puzzle solving. Being undead is kinda cheating though because there's so many spells that just rain poison, healing you and damaging the enemy at the same time
Alright I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but the 'its a boy' blessed fire gag at 10:36 was phenomenal, thank you. I laughed so hard I woke up my wife lol
I was a huge fan of DOS2 Path of Purity run. I decided to do a DOS2 solo Path of Purity run, its seriously one of the most challenging and confusing run ever. Every single encounter is a pure puzzle how "How the hell I do that" or "Why is the Magister has a secret alliance with the Undead of the Swamp? Aren't they supposed to kill each other?" I don't know if that concept of Path of Purity could be enough entertaining/doable in bg3 without being a "Persuasion run" which is mostly not interesting to watch.
I kind of wanted to do one, but wasn’t sure how people get past the golem at the very end of act 3. I didn’t look anything up though. I guess using summons? But I think that’s kinda lame if that’s the only way.
My friend’s partner recommended we try this game a few years back, which is how I learned this type of game could turn me into an unmoving rock that only played DOS2. I should finish this game…
11:51 as someone who has never played DOS 2 thank you for acknowledging I am fully in my right to be confused. Also love the deranged critique at the end of the game. That's the sudden type of adrenaline spike that keeps me going.
😂 it’s a great game the gameplay is amazing but the story is a little weird at times. A lot of people told me the last boss makes sense if you played DoS1 but I didn’t
Fun fact you can find out that the hooded man is braccrus rex, and that the guy who forges anathema for you, is the one who revived him for dallas, and cuz all the bosses where sworn, the basically never die lol
Yeah Tarquin will mention it but it’s still a lame reveal. The sworn thing is something I didn’t think of though, and makes me wonder how braccus was connected to the god long then?
This video reminds me that I should probably actually play DOS2 since I got it to play with some friends, but that fell apart quickly when we realised our playstyles for games like that are wildly different and we could never stick together naturally, and I never touched it since, despite playing through BG3 50 million times
Funnily enough playing as a skelly boy was what sold me on this game initially even though i had never heard of it and boy oh boy did it not only deliver it became one of my favorite games of all times. That said. Where the hell are my playable skelly bois in BG3 Larian?!

Don't know if you'll read this but really enjoyed the video and seeing sides of a game that I and friends(enemies) played 80 hours in and would never have seen organically.
Thanks! Glad to hear that.
I did that before as well it’s super cool. You can have a full poison caster and have no worries about cleaving ur team
> lizard wizard
ahh, peak quality KGLW content, love that
This has to be one of the most boneheaded ideas I've ever heard of.
Which is notable because DOS 2 was the first game Larian made that TRULY exploded in popularity
BG3 is effectively Larian's first chance to make a game with the budget that matches their talent, and in that regard it becomes obvious just how talented and passionate their teams are.
THough admittedly, BG3 has a TON more options when it comes to buildcrafting, whereas DOS 2 mostly just boils down to "Armor shred then CC"
I do think that if/when DOS3 (or whatever the next Divinity game is called) Larian will be able to finally perfect the Divinity combat system.
In all honesty, my biggest hope for DOS3 is that they finally get a concrete settlement on the worldbuilding. Divinity has a wonderful world, and I particularly LOVE the Ancient Empire and its History. Given that in like, 90% of the endings, the Ancient Empire remains the strongest force in Revellon, I can only really see it playing a massive role in the invasion from Nemesis that DOS2 pretty blatantly alludes to
@@somedudewithakeyboard5388 in Arx it's "drink tea, pop Apotheosis, nuke everything including your own party members"
Yeah I find new things Everytime I play. Somehow I always missed the pig queen in act 4
@@ProxyGateTactician Hahah the WHAT? 😂 i don't remember that at all!
I have too many hours in this game and didn't even know you could loot those deathfog barrels on the intro ship. I'm learning something new all the time
Very funny video, I was not expecting there to be any reactions to not having a face mask on, but the Malady reaction was top tier.
I now understand how to effectively combat racism and discrimination; chemical weapons, questionable business connections, dark forces, indiscriminate murder, civil conversation that leads to said indiscriminate murder, and boning. Lots of boning.
At least you learned something :)
@@ProxyGateTactician I was taking notes
A Dos2 video, what a breath of fresh air, i loved it keep up the good work
Thanks a ton!
Your vids are super fun for someone who’s new to RPGs! I’m in act 3 of BG3 rn and your vids are helping me build interest in other play throughs there and in other games like DOS2. Keep it up!
its been so long since good dos2 content other than the goat fracture KEEP IT UP PLEASE!!!
Divinity Original Sin 2 is still great even if now we have BG3. I would like so see some DOS2 from times to times to break it up a little bit instead of just all videos being bg3 related.
im actually in the middle of my first two playthroughs of dos2, a relatively normal singleplayer and a chaotic multiplayer one with a friend! would love to see more dos2 videos like this from you
You wake up on a beach in Divinity Original Sin, which would make BG3 the 3rd Larian Turn Based where you start on a beach :D
Div 1 was amazing for the broken builds you could make, leech and zombie
Div 2 was amazing for the scope and scale, with mods it has some of the best bonus classes
BG3 is Game of the Year for a reason.
Love these vids, keep them coming Proxy
Waking up on thre Beach is Larian thing's.
Being a prisoner and escape/released captivity is a Bethesda thing.
I don't see whats wrong with that ;p
wait, what are DoS broken builds? May I ask for a link please?
@@Mugthraka came here to say this lol
@@EujenSandu It was long time ago, but I remember how I made my character fire resistant to the point fire would heal me, and lava too (with buffs).
0:23 oh... so that helm is in bg3 too - special edition purchase but still cool to know
Yeah all the items from that pack are from this game.
Thanks, you safed us so much time.
Also I love this game. Was very interesting to watch :)
It's been years since my first last palythrough of DOS 2. So many memories flooded into my head watching this video.
10:34 that line seems demonatizable I choked on my breakfast when you said that
I wasn’t expecting to hear that joke and laugh-snorted my coffee. Now my nose hurts 😂😒
I love that this channel reminds me of MittenSquad. RIP. You’re awesome, Proxy
"I lit up their tree like a California forest during gender reveal season" my god what a fkn line
Hehe, 'boning' your companion 11:55 Can't believe no one is talking about this beautiful joke
*clack clack clack clack clack*
Someone at larian is a scaly, if evem the undead version of the female lizard is throwing her ass around like its got its own gravity well.
Damn that trick witht he balista I didnt even know you could turn it? dayum
1:30 dat wiggle tho...
I can list way too many games that start off with "ship crashes, you wake up on the beach with nothing". It's become just as bad a cliche as goblins, spiders and drow, oh my.
This went hard, amazing job on the editing and all those hours sunken into this video ❤
See a DOS2 video was a pleasant surprise, wouldn't mind seeing more
Thank you for bringing back memories! This was unexpected and very welcome!
This was entertaining to watch even when I haven't finished DOS 2 yet, you should make more videos on this game for variety in my opinion
Thanks for the feedback good to know you could follow it still
Woa, Divinity 2 videos? divinity 2 challenges? yes, here is a like and here is a share, more please.
I always found it weird how few there were for that game. It deserves more for sure. Thanks for checking it out
Fantastic video. Not only highly informative, but your writing skills are noticeably improving. You're doing great, Proxy, keep it up.
If they didn’t hide the dudes identity I wouldn’t have been as bothered by it
@@ProxyGateTactician that makes sense
nice vid ! i can't decide if it makes me want to play the game or not :D
I enjoy DoS combat more than Baldur's gate tbh, just try to save your cc for when it will bust their armour/magic resist
Combat in this game is less.... combat and more puzzle solving. Being undead is kinda cheating though because there's so many spells that just rain poison, healing you and damaging the enemy at the same time
Phys damage hits armor elemental damage hits magic resist
There are some really cool mods for this game that overhaul how the armor system works and changes cc to be less debilitating.
God i love dos 2. Glad bg3 has moved people back to one of my favs. 1500 hours, still playing. Grwat modding pillars too! Fane main for life.
I miss so many features of DOS2, I just miss it in general, I might play it again soon, ty for the nostalgia.
Alright I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but the 'its a boy' blessed fire gag at 10:36 was phenomenal, thank you. I laughed so hard I woke up my wife lol
This is so cool! You explain stuff really well so that even tho i have never played this game its amazing to watch
Thank god someone else talked about the same intro for DOS2 and BG3..there are SO MANY similarities between the two games it's kinda stupid lol
Damn ur video really made me want to try dos2 . Nice 😂
It's a really fun game. The story wasn't written as well as bg3, but the combat is something I enjoy more in DOS2
BRB gotta best DOS2 real quick so i can watch my fave TH-camr
I was a huge fan of DOS2 Path of Purity run. I decided to do a DOS2 solo Path of Purity run, its seriously one of the most challenging and confusing run ever. Every single encounter is a pure puzzle how "How the hell I do that" or "Why is the Magister has a secret alliance with the Undead of the Swamp? Aren't they supposed to kill each other?"
I don't know if that concept of Path of Purity could be enough entertaining/doable in bg3 without being a "Persuasion run" which is mostly not interesting to watch.
I kind of wanted to do one, but wasn’t sure how people get past the golem at the very end of act 3. I didn’t look anything up though. I guess using summons? But I think that’s kinda lame if that’s the only way.
loved this game through and through. Great vid bro
Loved watching this. Proxy, do what makes your happy. DOSII, BG3, do what you're feeling.
If you still have the god king pact you can skip the puzzle before Lucien, he just turns off the puzzle and you can walk through
I actually never knew that. Good to know!
Glad I found your channel, good quality stuff 👌
insane that larian made the Blind NPC not turn hostile because of your appearance. This is why we love that studio.
Great vid! Keep up the good content, and I would love to see more DOS2
this game is so good it brings me to tears, Larian really are ahead of the game
A cinematic quality Divinity game is my dream and I hope that's what they're working on now
Easy sub my man! Keep it up, regardless of whether it's bg3 or dos2 :)
@@ProxyGateTactician They lied to you. DoS1 simply has Braccus Rex as a boss fight and gives some additional context on him.
Awww got me wanting to replay this great game! Silly story and all lol. The combat just felt so good for casters!
The combat in DoS2 is sooo fun. Combining surfaces etc is very satisfying and teleporting
What do you mean silly story?
Seriously making me want to go play DOS2 again! It's been a while
Would love to see all sorts of games from you, any games like bg3 or Dos would be awesome
This video reminds me that I should probably actually play DOS2 since I got it to play with some friends, but that fell apart quickly when we realised our playstyles for games like that are wildly different and we could never stick together naturally, and I never touched it since, despite playing through BG3 50 million times
First time watching you, you deserve this sub
Ahh, it warms the soul to see another who recognises the perpetuity of the bone, and knows it as good.
As for a Fort Joy player myself, I’m even surprised you finished the game at all. 😂
Always wanted to see content on dos2 and would love to see more
I wondered why there's so little content on the game tbh. Always loved it
Never heard of this game before it looks cool
Hell yeah Dos2 content!!
This might be your tightest script yet.
this video had my in my seat DYING, thanks for making my day
Funnily enough playing as a skelly boy was what sold me on this game initially even though i had never heard of it and boy oh boy did it not only deliver it became one of my favorite games of all times. That said. Where the hell are my playable skelly bois in BG3 Larian?!
I'm hoping DOS3 is in the works and the skeles are back
Well, I was gonna watch this video, but realized I never played this game and didn't want it spoiled. Be back in a while.
1:03 Bro that's literally every zombie movie moment! They think it's dead but it isn't.
I kinda hope for more divinity 2 content! It’s fresh and cool for me :D
I HAVE PLAYED Divinity 2 before, I just thought that I was misremembering the game. Holy flood of beach intro memories..
