I was part of the team (Nightmare Armor) that cast this suit 10+ years ago. So glad to see it still getting so much love and attention years later! Love the simplicity of the new stand👏
Nothing gets my house cleaner than knowing someone is coming over. I especially love those last minute, unexpected announcements from someone saying they are on their way.
This costume is literally one of my all time favorites. I would most likely shed a tear seeing it in real life because of all the intricacies I miss on the internet. Thanks for sharing it again!
@@jccatv901 Ha ha! I should've clarified that's variation of the line in the movie where Obadiah Stane yells at William Ginter Riva and he meekly replies, "Well I'm sorry I'm not Tony Stark."
"Having people come over is a fabulous deadline." Boy aint that the truth...my house usually looks like it was hit by a tornado, but thought I was going to have to have a repairman come yesterday...needless to say, its looking pretty clean around here right now lol
Since Adam did all that work with Bethesda and how much he loves armors and such i would love to see him do some power armor especially since the Fallout series is coming out in a couple of months.
I loved SF Sketchiest the year I went, 2011, when my friends and I saw the Rifftrax guys live, including guest Adam Savage who was very funny. Janet Varney & others were involved too. Good times... And Adam, you probably wore the costume to SiliCon in 2021. In 2022 you were dressed as MacReady. Again, good times!
I watched this, and then i went back and watches the entire (public) playlist of the Mk. 1. And now i'm absolutely itching to see a Mk.2 flight boot prototype.
Dude, that paint is so good that it fooled me for a moment, and I am a Fabricator/Welder by trade (for judgement reference point). Huge fan since the Jet assisted Chevy lol Nice shop BTW
How the hell did TH-cam know that I was building a robot/armor stand and that I needed to see this today? Boy the AI just keeps getting better and better.
Zonbie aka Grace Willow started making on on this channel years ago, don't think it was ever finished. This was possibly before Adam (& Jamie Hyneman) took over Tested.
Is there some sort of tiny fog machine that could be placed inside the suit, that would dissipate before filling the room with fog (perhaps it would create a slight haze effect)?
I've seen your tape measure since the day you filmed receiving it but it wasn't until today that I thought "Man, that looks like it's really satisfying to use." Also, I agree with it being your best paint job. That sucker looks like it should weigh a ton! Thanks for always bringing us along ✌
always love listening to Adam talk and then mid sentence completely stop and look away at something else because he seemingly talks faster than he can think and needs to let his brain catch up so he doesn't say something too stupid
The title of this video is making me think that Marvel needs to collab with Adam to stick him and his cave as a cameo appearance in some Iron Man media. A scene with Tony Stark making something would be awesome lol
I love watching Adam get so excited talking about something, then he loses his train of thought...lol Kinda makes me wonder what he's gonna be like if he gets dementia. How is anyone gonna be able to tell?......lmao
My favourite is the Mk 2, all naked, bare boned, skinny armour, no paints and lots of rivets everywhere. Number 2 has to be the "Jarvis" suit from the 3rd movie, the one without armour plating on, where you can see all the guts and wires underneath. I hate, no, i despise the nano suits, they look cheap, bland, boring and they look like they were made by the same team who made the CGI Green Lantern suit.
Thumbs up and Ha Ha about the volume check at the start.. I run into that with myself quite often. Anyway, thanks for sharing. I do wish though that someday the idea of safely elevating yourself (aka retrieving an object higher than floor standing reach) would become part of the daily Shop Safety practices. (4:00 into this video for reference) There are so many pokey stabby things in the shop that even an 8-12inch fall could result in significant harm to thy self. A folding safety step stool can save one from many years of misery. Best Wishes.
"Sketch Fest" that discribes San Francisco perfectly. I'm so depressed after I go into the city after having lived in it from 1990 to 2015 and around it but being in it every day from 1983 to 2015. I'm down the peninsula now and I dread going into the city. I can go to the Sunset/Glen Park as far as West Portal entering from the south and be ok. Any deeper than that and I feel like I'm in a graveyard. In fact, a graveyard is more cheery.
What's cool about the Iron Man Mk1 suit is if Iron Man were in an alternate universe where he existed during the Victorian Era (late 19th century?), this would look right at home way back then, too... Has that cool steampunk vibe which is a design aesthetic I personally enjoy.. maybe if it were slightly more polished up in some areas with a bit if extra brass or copper details. How about Adam design and make his own version of an Iron Man suit some day?
I am a light saber enthusiast/addict. From the title of this video I thought you would be building another Luke hilt in an actual cave like the deleted scene from return of the Jedi. L O L

Wow, cool! I'm this suit's leg, nice to meet you again!
Holy cow! That’s amazing!
Why do you hurt me so? It hasn't been 10+ years since...
@@aserta we're closer to 2 decades since iron man came out haha
Amazing, I love that suit!

He said sarcastically...
Just enough time to hide your shame
It really is probably your nicest paint job. It's such a work of art, and you can tell how much care went into all of the tiny details.

About Sili-Con…
WTF happened???
that armor is so clean! and such a sweet build for the stand.

Hi Dan!👋
@@NixCM Hey man! ✌
THAT was a fun video to watch! Thank you Adam for this!
Every time I see this Ironman suit, I am fascinated at how awesome it looks and amazed at the paint job. Great job, as always. Cheers

That suit is just bad ass!
Fun to see your process putting this together!

There is so much more room in the shop and I love it!!!
Impressive. Most Impressive.
Adam isn't just out to win a contest, he's out to completely dominate it.
I've always loved the original armour. This was a wonderful look at it. Thanks mate ❤
i came here just to say "WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS!!!!"
I can't tell how much i love and respect Adam even he triggers my ADHS sometimes 😂.

I was checking out your green little giant conquest ladder. That’s pretty cool looking, double rungs as well!
Tom Waits has the best vocal fry in rock and roll, and you know it.
I love your mad scientist hairdo🤓
My wife and i just talked about it 😂😂😂😂
Zonbie aka Grace Willow started making on on this channel years ago, don't think it was ever finished. This was possibly before Adam (& Jamie Hyneman) took over Tested.
I would LOVE to get the knight's armor from Fallout! That would be a huge project though.
Does that suit have a good, air exchanger? Hope so! Wows! What talent, Adam has.
Your next project with this should be a replica of the work station the armor was hung from in the movie. That'd look amazing in the shop
Feels like decorating a Christmas tree
Great video sir

To preface this, I'm waiting for the rest of the auction videos!
More to come!

I would suggest incorporating a motion detector module and a few servos to activate the movement of the arms and head, just to scare people.

In an alternate reality Adam Savage is Iron Man.
The hydraulic accumulator on the back of Mark I suit looks like Rey's water bottle in The Force Awakens

I think that drum kit holders actually were pretty good solution ans sturdy..😉
It's uncanny how much the MK1 always
reminds me of Fallout powerarmor.
Great suit. Check out Barry Armsteads version if you get a chance.
Imagine if Robert Downey Jr were to just pop by and autograph Adam’s mk1 Ironman.
Surprised that Adam hasn't built a paint mixer like they have at Home Depot/Lowes for gallon's like that.
Just waiting for Adam to accidentally kick over that paint can! :) Use a disposable plastic cup, or cut down a drinks/food can in future!
Always forget how big that costume was.
cartoon level of 'presto-cut' bracket jump cut..not complaining I want sketches link :)

what is that apple watch band and cover Adam has? Looks not as bulky as I've seen some others.
What kind of eccentric dog hole cam clamps are those that you use in the video!?? Who makes them and where do I swipe?? 😂
