    As a fresh new owner of this bike, I will say that one of its biggest problems is the windshield which doesn't do much even on its highest setting.
    There is though an original Yamaha touring windshield for about 250$ (at least where I live) which I consider buying. It's a bummer to pay extra, but it also is kinda nice to have both because on my daily commute to work it's not such a problem, but when you go out for a ride and spend a couple hours on high speeds the wind noise gets annoying.
    Other than that I'm super happy with my tracer and proud to own it ( I still didn't see another one on the street so I feel special 🙂)

      I bought the puig touring screen for €109 in the Netherlands. It looks better and protects perfectly.
      I also bought heated grips from daytona, also for € 100. Sooo good in the cold weather of last weeks.

    Firstly,just bought one last week,still to collect it yet.
    Screen; First thing coming off, Faco low one going on,hate screens,never seen/had one on a Tracer 900 i liked
    .
    Exhaust; Don't waste you cash on an Akra, for £700 more you'd be better with the 115bhp turbo kit(145bhp if you do the engine guts).
    Get Arrows downpipes,a Lextek can or a £44(delivered) can from China,ran one for 9000mls(15k kms) on the 900,excellent,with a custom mid section made at any exhaust shop(£80 + K+N filter/flashed ECU).
    Seat; I bid 800 miles(1400km) on the Tracer 900 on it's 2nd day out of the shop, my arse survived that,a Tracer 7 is a couch by comparison!(had one for a day).
    Huge amount of accessories for these bikes,go hunting out with the Yamaha parts catalogue, Kedo for adventure footpegs ,Barracuda for headlamp guards to name two...or a bolt on turbo kit from Extreme Creations(Australia).
    I'll be starting a channel with a Tracer 700 ADV build...stay tuned!

  • @MacAlex007

    I have this bike, now with about 3000Kms, and I can confirm the 400km fuel range, if you go easy on the throttle.
    I also agree the seat could be more comfortable.
    To me, the best this bike has to offer is the engine. Good torque from the low rpm all the way up, and i was able to go over 200Km/h easily with top and side cases on.
    The bike also feels very light. Great at low speeds around town.
    The rear suspension to me is ok.
    Now the front... on good asphalt is great. We can go fast on twisties and combined with the light weight and nice torque from the engine, it's a joy to go from corner to corner.
    When the road has lots of bumps and holes, that's when I find it too hard. I've tried playing with all suspension settings, with no success. I believe the problem to be the compression setting, which is not adjustable.
    There's fully adjustable ohlins cartridge and springs for this bike, but I'm not sure if it will fix it or just make it more sportier.
    Since you have more experience with lots of bikes, how did you find the front on bad asphalt?
    Keep up with the good reviews! :-)

      It was ok, considering the package and the suspensions you usually get in this segment. I wouldn't put an Ohlins on the Tracer. I'd keep it like this for some time, then switch it for a better bike.

    Traction control isn't going to come until Yamaha updates the throttle to an electronic system which I can't see on their budget sports tourer... Yamaha are very slow when it comes to features as they rely on their fabulous CP engines and it's worked so far... but for how much longer, as other manufacturers have caught up a lot recently not to mention that £8k is actually a lot of money for a bike.

    I think only a very bad driver would ever need traction control on a 70hp motorcycle

    • @UndergroundSessions1
      @UndergroundSessions1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Your reply is a bit shortsighted. There can be alot of situations were traction control can aid a experienced rider. For example bad weather conditions or slippery road surfaces. Bad riding (not driving) has nothing to do with that. This bike is an entry level bike and traction control is a great feature especially for beginner riders.

    Good Job, excellent review, but, I would like to watch a review about the new manufactured chinesse midsize motorcycles such as benelli TRK, Voge 500 or Macbor XR5, even the Zontes All of them have a very competitive price, and not all riders can afford a KTM, BMW or Ducati. Thanks a lot

    • @pavelmullo244
      @pavelmullo244 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      He was test riding the bike in different conditions like city, twisted roads and highway, naturally if you have short time to test bike and you need to get the understanding how it behaves in different situations you won’t ride it most eco way. By the way the smaller engine itself does not mean automatically lower consumption. Eg with your FJR is significantly less effort needed for acceleration to achieve 0-100km/h than with this one which means every time you are on high rpm with smaller engine your consumption is mad for some seconds compared with bigger bikes that does not need that much rpms for acceleration.

  • @billzidis2656
    @billzidis2656 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's pretty slow to have any TCS or other systems. I was riding the MT-07 which is the same engine and it feels underpowered. I think that's why they didn't put any systems on it and raise the cost even more.

    • @chrishart8548
      @chrishart8548 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 things I don't like about the F750gs is the 77hp and conventional forks. But if you're comparing with the tracer then it 5hp up and the fork issue is the same. In the low spec the f750gs is very reasonable.

    • @alithejumbo

    • @chrishart8548

      @@alithejumbo I would choose the f750gs. In the previous tests I would have the f700gs over it's competitors. Then the tracer then the versey's then the v-strom. If I was ok too loose some power I would have a cb500x before the versey's

How else do you think Yamaha was able to sell them for such a low price, by scrimping on the materials. Take one apart and you’ll know exactly where the money was saved.
