watches in general or becoming divisive : You either have lots of money, so wearing a watch shows that you have a lot of money. OR: You actually do want to just have the time on your wrist always, so you find something you like that's affordable. (I suppose the 3rd category is people who legit like watches and are constantly trying to stay in the hobby and buy watches as nick knacks and fun things to play with... or 4th category rich people that do the same)

@@kaima8002 For a field watch id look at the Expedition line, The Camper is the bottom of the line with a resin case, the Scout is mid tier with black brass cases, the Metal comes in 2 sizes 37 and 40 mm and 3 finishes with many color ways, it also has a brass case. All models have mineral glass, at least 50 M WR (a few have 100 WR), decent lume and Indiglo. The battery lasts between 5 and 7 years. Prices start at just over $30 for the Camper to mid 40's for the Metals.

Ok, so here’s what I found. Expedition is the best field, weekender is a good everyday practical watch. Easy reader is basically the cheaper version of the weekender. So I’m either gonna get an expedition or a bertucci for my first field watch. They’re both under 100 but bertucci has stainless steel, and expedition is brass. Both are solid tho.

I love my Bertucci, it is the watch I wear most often. I would definitely recommend paying a bit more and getting the Titanium version with 200m water resistance which is what I have. I live in FL so actually like the straps as metal bands can be heavy on the wrist and leather bands can get nasty in the Florida heat humidity and rain. I have the black one it came with and a blue striped one and switch them out and they are so easy to clean and change out. Yes, it is quartz and not fancy but just so lightweight, versatile, and comfortable. The quartz battery on mine lasted a long time (longer than anticipated). You could pay for a longer lasting battery watch but not really necessary IMHO.

I admire watches and watch brands across the entire price spectrum but for quality to price ratio, this category is hard to argue with and is definitely budget friendly. Nothing in this category is remotely risky to wear in a high crime area and doesn’t attract unwanted attention. As such, I often give these to family, friends, and acquaintances needing a reliable watch to backup their phones or other devices. It’s a fantastic way to spread the love of watches with others. Thanks for sharing this video. Well done 🥃

Teddy didn't include this in the video, but the best $100 watch right now for general purposes is 100% the Casio G-Shock GA2100. It can serve as a Field Watch, partial diving watch, is digital + analog, and can be modded in the future with a pretty big community. It also resembles a Royal Oak, so it looks pretty clean on the wrist with a nice setup. I've owned mine for almost 2 years now, and the fact they're going down in price is a great sign for people looking for a deal.

I'm generally not a fan of many of Armitron's designs, but the nicer designs they do have can appropriately sit alongside the Casio and Timex watches that have similar prices. I just wish many of those nicer design watches were more readily available at retailers besides Armitron itself.
(NOTE: I have 2 Armitron, 3 Casio, and 4 Timex watches.)

I love my DW5600, a truly great watch. One of my favorites in my collection is a Timex field watch that I bought in 2012 and have had lots of great adventures with. Definitely toss out the timex straps. They suck, but a few bucks will get you a few great straps.

To me the TIMEX IRONMAN is the digital GOAT, not the G-shock. I got one in 1999 (the classic design with the two yellow buttons) as a gift when I went off to become a summer camp counselor. That thing never left my wrist and took a beating. I wore it running, swimming, playing soccer, showering, in blistering heat, biking, you name it. It held up tremendously. I think the stitching on the velcro part of the strap eventually gave, and I ended up just putting a cheap replacement strap on it. I am very fond of that model, I still have one for nostalgic purposes that I sometimes wear on long runs.

I found a Swatch Twice Again for $5 at a thrift store still ticking away and working perfectly. I would say it’s the perfect minimal watch but the only drawback is it’s SO LOUD. I have to keep it in a drawer in a separate room as the ticking is just so crystal clear.

At college, University and starting off my working life I had the same 4 watches for the best part of 15 - 20 years, a Casio F91W (My first watch) a few years later A Timex Ironman Triathlon (Same as the one pictured in the vid), a Casio G-Shock DW-6100, which got the bulk of the wear and for best (the rare occasion I wore a nice pair of shoes, shirt and blazer a Tissot Seaster 7 that was handed down. There were simply no need to upgrade them, just replace the battery every few years with the exception of the Tissot which was a manual wind
I still got them all many years after other watches replaced them and of course, getting the collectors bug with slightly more expensive brands. The G-Shock & Tissot still get worn from time to time, cheep, cheerful and at this rate, handing them down to the next gen.

Under 100 USD, I truly believe there are some pretty good citizen watches, including eco-drive watches. Truly believe you should have mentioned a few, it's a better option than swatch in my opinion. Greetings, great video. P.S Still hoping this year a video with Nico could be possible.

Just about any casio is excellent. My picks would be the W-86 (better version of f91w: less dated design, better light), the newest A700 (very slick, minimalist, timeless design, best looking digital imo), Duro MDV107 on a bracelet.

I'm going to call you out Teddy for ignoring the Pro Diver. It's a well made stainless with a Seiko NH35A movement . I know they make gawd-awfle watches but the Automatic Pro Diver deserves to be on the list. I own 2, plus a Vostok scuba dude, F91W, G-shock, several Seiko solar, an old quartz Wenger Terragraph, a Hamilton khaki automatic, and a PRX. I'm no snob, every watch I have has a meaning to me, and the Pro Diver's have held up beautifully. They keep excellent time.

Casio A700 or B640 are one of my favorite models, they are amazing watches, not for the price but in general.
The only thing i don't like on B60 is the bracelet that's why i have a Milanese loop on A700 but that has meh water resistance, so a mix between these two would be amazing

Sure, my attainable grail watch is a Omega Globemaster. I am hoping to buy myself one for my next birthday. My Daily Wear is either a Seiko SBP249 or more recently, the white face Hamilton Bronze Field watch, but I do love an inexpensive/cheap watch. I just got the Timex Expedition you featured on Amazon's Prime day for under $30. I don't know why I love them, I just do.
