'The spaniel of watch collecting.' Do you mind if we use that in future campaigns? Thanks Mr Morgan!!! So proud to hear your dulcet tones discussing my own creation. Cheers, Jody
Jody, please make a purple fumé dialed 100% brushed case/back/bezel/crown/bracelet/clasp field watch with 12 big BGW9 numbered hour markers, and the bracelet from the Erebus Origin. Take my money! Make it GMT with rotating internal compass bezel, and I'm all over it! I am super-down for the Erebus "Alpinist"(?)!
"...in space, no one can hear you join the wait list."..some really great information for the low-key bargain enthusiast. Nice job in pointing out how pretentious I am...Thanks Andrew!
I absolutely love your videos! I thought I knew most brands but you somehow bring out 2 to 3 I have never heard of and then want them :). Thank goodness you are on TH-cam! I look forward to your content! Thank you l!
Always on spot, but this video is your best yet. No waste except for the necessary occasional humor reference. I much appreciate the research done here. Keep on the fine work. Congratulations.
I got the Angles Base60. It does wear a bit like a hockey puck, but Andrew is absolutely correct, it's really easy to tell the time, so long as it isn't dark since black lume is used on the all silver model and effectively is nonexistent. I have found, however, that because the arcing time track is on the far side of the watch, it actually is more convenient to wear the watch upside down so I don't have to do a full arm roll to see the time. The watch is well made and certainly worth the $30,000+ that I didn't have to pay for an Urverch.
You're right, the Behrens would be standard issue on the Nostromo, but not on the wrist of Ripley or Dallas. Our devious crewman Ash would relate immediately to the complex mechanism, the wheels and gizmos, the ominous hidden movement. Although he's perfectly capable of time-keeping, it's a watch for his android dreams.
@timemasterhms They've been conditioned over many years to only buy watches that "tick all the boxes." Unfortunately, "doesn't suck" isn't one of the boxes.
@@timemasterhmsThat is a very uncharitable perspective. There’s a lot to like about the Ascent. The color ways are awesome, the movement is good, the proportions are solid, the finishing is solid, the hands, indices, and logo are aesthetically pleasing, so on and so forth. There’s nothing to dislike about the watch. It’s like a Grand Seiko and Aqua Terra put together for a fantastic price. Ripoff, homage, conventional and safe-whatever you want to call it, it absolutely appeals the current market without bending over backwards in a way that would sacrifice its appeal in future markets.
So many fantastic options Andrew without having to deal with the extra issue of foreclosure on our homes 🏠!! 👏🏻. Wonderful selections. Thanks Andrew!!!
Greetings from metro Atlanta Georgia USA! It's so good Andrew to see you doing your own thing so well with intelligent, witty, pithy, and informative insight! Congrats on your ever growing number of subscribers! Keep up the good work according to purpose. Cheers! ⌚️
One of the cliches of the Lorca is the use of Times New Roman. At the price they’re charging they surely could have scrolled down a bit more on the MS Word font menu.
I have a Hoffman racing 40, had it for 18 months. Really enjoy it a lot . Sharp, accurate, well proportioned for a bicompax (most bicompaclx watches on the market are messed up, at least under 1k price )
My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MAMACOO and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.
I no longer watch Andrew's videos for the watch content and instead just listen to them for the biting wit and 1970s kids show references. Pure class, Andrew. Please put them all on a single podcast so I can giggle my way from Land's End to John O'Groats without stopping.
I would love a top 10 of more affordable dress watches or otherwise my classic/elegant watches as I feel this segment to be brushed aside these days. Thank you 😊
Thank you Andrew,a review 4 us normal hard workin people, forget the Rolex,Tudor etc, etc, etc you get my drift, there are many more you could review, oh by the way a fantastic review....!
I was just going to quote one of your epic throw away one liners but couldn't be arsed. Instead look at the bezel on the Lorca , yes its a bezel. But go on look again fellas. The gmt numerals read horizontaly, clever very clever. Admittedly I've seen this piece before but couldn't again be arsed to comment.
Two of the best "bargain" watches are Raven Watches, LLC and KUOE in my humble opinion. Raven is an American company with Chinese manufacturing and Japanese movement (some Swiss). KUOE is a Japanese company with, according to them, 100% Japanese manufacturing, incl. the case and glass. Have both, love both!
@@alwayspooh1588 no, I do love the purple and orange dials, but I don’t have anything to wear with those. So I went with blue helix. Might have to add the malachite dial down the road
I bought the Hoffman, had too, it’s so attractive! The watch itself wears very small for a 40mm because the case & lugs are quite slim. Hoffman give a discount if you sign up for newsletters which got the price down to £149. However there was a £45 tax charge, but even so, I am delighted with the watch.😎
The Vitreum is really a great alternative to waiting YEARS for an An Ordain (although I must admit I have purchased slots for 2026, 2027 and 2028...LOL.) So I did pre-order a green Vitreum and now patiently await its 2025 delivery.... Andrew, your knowledge and wit and unique brand of snarkasm keep it fresh for all us watch enthusiasts!
Amazing writing and content as usual, humorous and informative. Humbled and blessed is also in the shopping cart, only “gripe” I have is I’m not a fan of the AMW logo….would buy more apparel if the logo was different. Love the channel!!!
You ares now my favourite watch channeler. I love to see people with the wit that got them detention from slower witted teaches and punched in the mouth by clods go on to success. I bet the clods wish they hadn’t bogwashed you. If they meet you now they probably say they were washing your hair. Though describing the orient 1 as cheap surely makes some of your viewers imagine kicking you on the shin. It would be awesome if you spent a few episodes talking down to us plebs what don’t have more than 300 smackers for a fancy watch. Keep it up- I will jut have to go to Jodi or cheap watch guy for my far less humorous advice on cheap tickers.
I have to Titans from Charles Berret but not the Darth which is a very good looking watch. but the watch they just released into pre offer only for one more week and a unreleased and classic looking watch is on its way…. Charles Berret a watch style that has been missing for their price… classics have just gotten classic! 👌
Hello and thanks for this video. With two references to the movie and two others to its director, did you watch multiples times the first film of the Alien's saga just before making this vid ? 😉 Anyway, thank you for the great discovery that Vitreum watches represents for me. 👍
Though I absolutely enjoy this channel and the dialogue is outstanding...what often worries me about this channel is its a dude talking about watches he doesn't seem to have ever had in his hands. Its all stock footage from elsewhere.
Love your videos...my only complaint is reviewing watches like the tornek raville which you can't even buy or the Nivada Paul Newman...long out of stock.
I don't know how many times I've said this, to how many people, but *Urwerk did not invent the wandering hour complication.* There have been wandering our watches all the way back to the pocket watch era.
I'd love a Tornek-Rayville but they are impossible to get, the whole pre-order process is a nightmare. It's a shame as it's a super cool looking watch. Annoying.
'The spaniel of watch collecting.' Do you mind if we use that in future campaigns? Thanks Mr Morgan!!! So proud to hear your dulcet tones discussing my own creation. Cheers, Jody

I still prefer “Mr. Hands”, but this is cool too! (j/k)

Thanks ANDREW - Erebus is proud to be on your channel!
I bought a Erebus Ascent after watching this!
I’m saving money for my next watch, I was looking for something not that expensive and with a stunning dial, in fact, I’ve found my next acquisition.
"...in space, no one can hear you join the wait list."..some really great information for the low-key bargain enthusiast. Nice job in pointing out how pretentious I am...Thanks Andrew!
The Vitreum watches are beautiful with their enameled dials.
I actually much prefer Andrew’s video format to what he was doing with WF (which was getting stale imo). Loving the unfiltered comedy
"Five legged horse"! Your humor knows no bounds. Great video Andrew.
"... Boris Jeltsins left hand.." 😂😂😂
You're funnier than many Stand Up comedians. I've said it before.
Tornek-Rayville make an amazing watch at a fair price. Getting your hands on one, however, is like trying to catch a greased pig in the dark.
LOL agreed
Andrew, your narration always makes my day. Subtle humor at its best!
'I'd give you some examples, but I can't be bothered."
Lol love it

This is the cleverest writing ever. And our favorite orologist (sorry Teddy) can’t even tell time.
Did you just reference The Prometheus School of Running Away From Things??
Absolute mad-lad!
Cheap, yet original designs are the new cool. Awesome list my friend! 🙌

The Ascent has so many good colourways that I couldn’t decide on one, so ended up buying none.
It’s a basic looking, Seiko rip off. Why people are frothing over it, is beyond me.
@timemasterhms They've been conditioned over many years to only buy watches that "tick all the boxes." Unfortunately, "doesn't suck" isn't one of the boxes.
I went Aventurine and Malachite.

I bought a straum because of you.
Lovely watch but the bracelet pulls hair more efficiently than a Vietnamese lady in a beauty parlour fyi
It's only a problem once!
I always love seeing Awake watches get featured. I backed their very first Kickstarter and it's so much fun to see where they are now
Honestly the best bargain watch I've seen recently is the Citizen NJ0180-80L. It's a CW Twelve for 1/4 the price

Hey Andrew, have you ever heard of the Seiko Weekdater, specifically the 6218-8971? I have a feeling you would like it.

Excellent words today Andrew. 😁👍

Great vid, Andrew. Thanks! Now, how can I talk you into having a cool background? 🤔
Great video ...really like the Hoffman
I laughed quite a bit, love your commentary 😂
The last watch Orion gets my vote. Love how complicated and weird it is. Whike the rest were kinda just on the normal side.

I like l’Orca, but only because you say it’s French for the Orca, plus the dial looks like an hommage to shark teeth.
Or it's named after a famous Spanish poet & playwright?
Just genius. Superb overview of pieces.
That blue dial Hoffman? Bought it. LOVE it. Definitely ticks the value box. Thanks Andrew!
The AWAKE Dare & DREAM. What do you think the aftermarket price could be as I have one NIB?
I am excited about that Tornek Rayville!!
