There’s been days over the last year or so I’ve thought about getting out of the LJ and in a Lexus. On my 6th wrangler of all different years models etc. now that I’m 30 I feel like the Lexus is the grown up version of Jeep 😂 esp since I’m not really rock crawling like crazy
@Jay-me7gw I'll definitely take your word for that, but I suspect you're at a point where you've already done major modifications to include your transmission. I'm running the stock 4:10 with the 8 speed automatic, I do not know what the first gear ratio is on it or the factory manual but I suspect like in 0-60 sports cars you need to be at the top of your game to outperform an auto. Again, I'll definitely defer to you as an expert on this, though.
@@Jamie-CoreyBrass Im talking about the stock gear ratios that come in a Wrangler Rubicon. The Rubicon has a 4:1 t-case and 4.10 axle ratios from the factory, giving it a 73:1 crawl ratio. You can basically just let off the clutch and it will idle up most obstacles with no need to work to clutch much. Yes and auto will be easier because of the torque converter but it doesnt mean manuals suck offroad and its much more engaging to drive everywhere else. Many Toyota guys will double up their t-cases and run a 4.7:1 stacked with a 2.57:1. That and some 4.88's in the axles will push them up to near 200:1 crawl ratio
@Jay-me7gw just to be clear... I didn't say manuals suck, I just said that autos are better. As for being more engaging that is completely subjective. If I never drive another manual the rest of my life I'd be OK with that. I'm just waiting for auto to become common in motorcycles.
Jordan and snow driving are not a safe combination 😅😅😅
No comparison. But I'd still prefer the LJR.

The lexus will be better if you are not hitting it pretty hard.
But IDK that I would get rid of an LJ if I already had one.
A Subaru could have done that really !
Automatic transmission is better offroad... why this love with manual transmissions?
When you have a 4:1 t-case, 4.10 axles, and 4.45:1 first gear you can get around a lot of the disadvantages of a manual offroad.

Lexus maybe the most boring auto ever built, should fit this guy well
