A dedicated off roaded with premature shock failure!! I had a 2001 zr2.. I sold it with 252,000 miles on it!! Yes 252,000 miles!! it had the factory original Bilstein shock's on it! The right rear started to leak around 230,000 miles!! And it had one recall!! The only major issue I had was fuel pumps and motor mounts, and I beat the crap out of it off roading!! That was a damn tough little truck!!!
So many reviews seem to emphasize that a Wrangler is not a good daily driver, yet I see bajillions of them being “daily driven”, and their owners appear to love them. When I was researching my first Wrangler purchase, I read so many negative reviews about the road and highway driving experience that I expected to be appalled at my first test drive, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the Wrangler’s on-road feel: maybe I’d been given such low expectations that they could go nowhere but up. I’ve been driving about 18,000 miles per year in my 2013 Rubicon for the past 7 years, and it still makes me smile every day. When I replace it, I plan to get another Rubicon.
I have a 2009 JKU about to roll 200k miles. I do off-road it at least once a month. I have had to replace almost everything. 2 transmissions, heater core, radiator, rotors calipers pads, exhaust, 4 O2 sensors. Axle seals, drive shafts, injectors. I change the oils every 3000k. Still love it. 🎉
I keep hearing Jeeps suck from people that never owned a Jeep and people that do are like, they're good. I drove a wrangler for 10 days while road tripping through Southern California and I absolutely loved it. I wanna get one eventually
@@SirWulfrick My 3.8 was still running strong but I pulled it at 242k to swap in a 6.4. The engine was running great but the transmission may have been getting close to the end of its service life and needing to be rebuilt. But again it has been super reliable!
I bought my 2009 Wrangler new. It's now 2020 and it has 120,000 + miles on it. The only thing that has broken on it was an "egr valve" (something to do with exhaust recirculation). The skid plates are pretty rusted and I'll need to replace them soon. Still going strong.
Love Jeeps, but not for the price! Bought my 2008 Jeep used with 150k miles, great inside-out condition, for $2200. To this day, not a single problem, runs and drives excellent, and is extremely capable off-road even bone stock. You can see how you really don't need to dump almost 60k with tax + mods to really enjoy the "true jeep experience". I paid for my entire Jeep less than the sales tax alone on the new one. I know the newer one is nicer, but not 60k nicer.
since there's no such thing as a used car Factory.. you say thank you in full humility to the people who man up an bought your "used" Jeep that you could later buy..
@@Wrangzilla 4-5 unreliable cars worth of mileage. Most car manufacturers build them to last through the warranty and that's it. They need you to throw it away and buy a newer one so they can keep making money
I have a 2014 jeep JK 2 door. I love it. I go off roading and I take my soft top down every chance I get. I'd highly recommend a jeep for any adventurous person
@@anthonygiordano3991 around 83,000. To be fair I've had a small handful of things needing repair. 1. Something randomly broke lose while I was driving home. I forgot what it was exactly. But it did not prevent me from driving home. 2. A tensioner for the serpentine belt broke. That happened while I was on a road trip so not ideal timing. It was a quick fix. But I didn't have the tools to fix it so I had to get towed to a near by shop. 3. I had a leak from somewhere near the transmission. I forget exactly what it was but it wasn't from the transmission itself. It was just leaking onto the transmission. Oh and it wasn't the transfer case
I absolutely LOVE my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sport with 100k mi. I bought it w/20k mi. and like you stated, I just love to drive it, putting 80k mi on it in 4yrs.
For people who love trucks, you just described why we love trucks. I feel like I'm out of my element if the ride isn't a little rough. I like to feel the road a bit. Lol
If you like to feel the road, then buy a aircooled 911 or any classic analog sportscar............ Truck old or new ride like dogshit.......... I don't get it......
Same here. People always hate on the wrangler and 4runner’s ride quality but I personally love it. My sister has a bmw and it’s so smooth it feels weird to me lol.
GW actually it is. It’s body on frame. Trucks aren’t just with a bed, those are called pickup trucks. A truck can also be an suv like the wrangler, 4runner, land cruiser, fj cruiser, bronco, etc. they are built on a body on frame truck platform. The gladiator is a pickup truck. The wrangler is an suv truck.
Just passed 60k on my 2017 JK and not a single problem. I think the points made here are fair in that it doesn't ride or steer like a car, but "two hands at all times on the highway" is an exaggeration. It rides and steers exactly like what it is - a body on frame solid axle truck with a suspension that can be taken apart and put back together in a day with hand tools. The issues that I feel on the highway are mostly caused by the mud terrain tires that came on the Rubicon and Willys, but that was a trade off I was willing to make. If you are going to off road it even just sometimes, and perhaps even moreso, if you are going to take take the top and doors off with any regularity, these are a one of a kind experience and every trade off is more than worth it. 👍👍
Craig R. Yeah, the two hands at all times on the highway is crazy. I’m at 114k on my 2011 JKUR and I have literally driven it from the passenger seat on the highway, not that I would recommend it to anybody. Jeeps are not “wild” in the way they steer. They are just a little bit more resistant to moving the wheel than, say, a corolla. He’s over exaggerating
Just rented one of these for a few days. I was thoroughly impressed with how it drives. This is my first time driving a "modern" 4x4 with a solid front axle and compared with my older 4x4s that I own (84' Toyota 4WD w/ solid front axle and 89' Toyota 4Runner w/ IFS) this thing steers and rides amazingly due to the coil springs vs older trucks w/ leafs. Also interior quality was really upscale even compared to newer vehicles. I really wish Toyota would put the straight axle back in the new 4Runners as I really don't think you would be sacrificing too much based on these new Jeeps.
Just a note I was on the Jeep build website the other day (or maybe I was looking at a window sticker of a Jeep for sale) and the one touch soft top option had come down considerably from 4k to about 1500 or something much more reasonable. My guess is very few people were willing to pay that much for the convenience so the restructured some option pricing. I applaud that it seems much more tempting at a somewhat palatable price point.
I used to hate this car time ago due to their poor reliability according to feedback I constantly heard, but honestly, This machine now rocks! I would love to have one soon! great video! thanks!
It'll never be 4Runner reliable, but you get a lot more comfort and gadgets to compensate and you can still easily squeeze 100k+ mileage before any major breaks unless u get unlucky. if ur exclusively looking for a rugged but Reliable vehicle that will work no matter what for 10-15+ years there isn't a competitor to the 4Runner.
@@ipdjbt older jeeps have fantastic longevity and reliability, but most of their newer models are awful. the 2.0l turbo and the ecodiesel are both terrible in terms of reliability. the pentastar v6 is a decent engine, but still not nearly as reliable as competitors like the 4runner or bronco.
@@gunnardeross preach just sold my 2015 wrangler with only 95 k miles cause it has cost me almost 10 grand in past 4 months screw these cars i hate them lol

@@ahmedrami3309 Point taken, but as a Toyota/Honda/Lexus driver, I kind of think it's ridicoulous that anyone would do a 50,000 mile relaibility video. But then again, it's a Jeep.
Literally two days ago, my 2012 unlimited oil pan rusted out from the inside, only 77,600 miles. Woke up to a puddle of oil in my driveway. Highway only, on the beach one time. Never in my life have I seen or heard of that happening on any vehicle. It's still dripping in the driveway (with a pan now), I'll make a video before it gets towed Monday.
@Camp Cookery Actually I stand corrected. It was the Transmission pan that rusted through. At the time of posting, I had seen a lake of fluid, but did not identify the pan correctly. Cost me $650. And no, it was NOT a gasket. Several spots continued to leak through the flat side even after being wiped.
My wife had a 2013 JKR and put about 115k miles on it before selling it and was still running good just had some minor issues. My 2001 TJ just crossed 170K going strong
Great review of the Rubicon. I have owned many Jeeps and the reliability has not been an issue. While not a Wrangler, we just traded a 14 Grand Cherokee for a 22. The 14 was flawless. Don't forget the resale equation when owning a Wrangler. I have a friend who just traded his Wrangler Unlimited Sport. It was four years old with average miles, and he got $3500 less than what he paid for it new. Hard to beat their resale.
Arcus Puffious glossed over? They broke down every little cost and issue they had with the wrangler. Besides that my Jeep with 55k has zero leaks and I beat the piss out of it. Not to mention of my many friends with jeep I don’t know any that have any problems out of the ordinary.
I have an 03 jeep grand cherokee 2.7crd (diesel) with about 200k and never had oil leaks, all I had to do was replaced fuel injectors. Great vehicle and I love it to heart.
My Uncal had a 07 magum with all most 500k on it! Drove it across the country every year twice a year plus normal driving. Funny enough he replaced it with a wrangler. Don’t know if I’d want to do that drive in one but he loves it.
Thanks for this. To all the haters, I have a Jeep Liberty with 240,000 miles. It's been off road a lot, and I'll miss the little thing. I'm upgrading, and this video was a great start. My spouse has two 4-Runners. Nice vehicles, but fairly grandma. (No offense, granny.) I'm a Jeep guy, so the hard ride, and poor gas mileage are a part of the experience. (FWIIW, my Liberty gets 20 MPG) I have had that Liberty in places I would NEVER take the 4 Runner(s). Fact of life, Jeeps are built for off-road. Thanks again for the video.
My '16 JK Rubicon had two ABS wheel speed sensors replaced under extended warranty, and I replaced the other two, between 50k and 60k miles. Amazing how it didn't want to go, when those sensors crapped out.
You can ignore the commentary on the steering, FC released a TSB for the “sloppy steering” to replace the steering gear. I hope owners replaced theirs, it’s like night and day after the repair (2018-2020 model years).
Hey you’ve had the Jeep for 50k miles I would like to suggest putting synergy trackbar brace on the front and drive it after... Best mod for the money hands down. 249$ easy install and it takes all the play out of the steering wheel. $30,000 in my JL and the first thing I bought for my JT was the trackbar brace,
Our 2013 Grand Cherokee Trailhawk 5.7 Hemi was bought new. It has the 65RFE transmission. 7 years later, it's only got 46,000 miles. Can't determine reliability accurately because of the low miles, but it's the bread and butter of its class. I love it! V8 power, AWD and airbag suspension! Oil is changed with Royal Purple 5w-20 every year or 5000 miles. Engine always gets a chance to run hot to keep the oil is good condition for a full year (no fuel dilution or moisture). Other maintenance is coming up. Soon needs tires and an alignment, 16 spark plug tune-up (Hemis use 2 per cylinder), and fresh transfer case and diff fluid front and back. I'll do it myself and save me hundreds since I got access to a Rotary lift. And yes, I shut off the air suspension before lifting it!
The price of all vehicles are going thru the roof, the same can be said for the Tacoma’s and 4Runners being over priced and being ancient in terms of design and tech, plus they’re 2020 models without LED lights and other equipment yet still at around 50k as well
Josh Vazquez - You should seriously take a look at the 2020 Nissan Titan Pro 4x! It is very durable, extremely capable, and you can get deep, deep discounts because of its sleeper status amongst 4x trucks!
I just bought a 2020 Rubicon. My 4th Wrangler. YJ, TJ, JK Rubicon. All had over 200000 miles when sold or stolen from me. My JK Rubicon has 265000 miles. I still own it. I drove the JL in 39"of water when it was still stock.

He said the first day he had it someone DUCK him. Placed a plastic duck toy on the jeep. If you get DUCKed you go to the Jeep Facebook site and post a picture (local jeep club). He did and got an immediate offer of $15K for the Jeep. He told him the jeep was part of the family and wasn't for sale, ever. Love my son but regret everyday letting my Jeep go.
7:00 it's funny when they start interviewing their photographers, one of them has a LandCruiser in the background, another with a title of 4runner owner. I guess they all recommend Toyota over Chrysler.
Just got a 23 Silver JL Sport 2 door 6 speed and it is a blast to drive in and off the road! It puts a smile on my face driving it with the too down which I do every chance I get weather permitting. I gave it an oil change at 1500 miles for breaking in and pl. to do my own every 5000. Did I mention it is a blast to row through the gears with the tip down on and off the road!!! I couldn't be happier, convertible and truck all in one
Very good, very fair review. I have my first jeep, a 2019 JLUR and 10k miles in (including a ton of trails in Moab and CO), it has been amazing. It’s a really well rounded and incredibly capable vehicle.
Overpriced, ugly, junk manufactured by what is the worst automotive maker in the world , Chrysler. The fact ppl are commenting “I went 10k miles with no repairs” or even 50k miles (which is nothing proves how big of a joke the brand is) My Toyota 4Runner has 239,000 HARD miles on it. Towing a boat and trailer, off roading, and has had nothing but fluids and maintenance done. Jeeps are junk and something loser millennials try and make a statement with.
Nick Caesar - Exactly! I can’t understand why Jeep owners seem amazed that their Jeeps are at 10-15K miles and “no issues!” It SHOULDN’T have any issues.. it’s brand new!! Even this review at 50K.. is STILL brand new as far as I’m concerned. Come back at 150-200K miles.. if you can say the same thing about the Jeeps reliability, THEN I’ll be impressed. I guess I’m just used to Toyota’s and having my vehicles last 10-15 years (at least).
Anthony Lopez -drive a stock vehicle of your choice to Top of The World in Moab, Hell’s Revenge, Elephant Hill, etc. and get back to me. Let me know when you’ve punctured the oil pan and destroyed the vehicle. Go ahead, I’ll wait.
Greg Weik - That’s exactly my point. You guys destroy your vehicles at those places. I think that’s why the Jeeps have so many issues. Not so sure they would have those issues if they were used as a daily. By the way.. what’s the point of off-roading anyway? You just climb rocks and hills.. but what’s the point? Just to prove you can? I can see if you were camping or lived off grid and you HAD to use it to go on a mountain trail or on some back road to achieve your destination.. in that case, there would be a point. In my research, I’m watching Jeep videos of guys off roading and it dawned on me that they go up some hills and then down.. scrape up their Jeep, then they go back to the suburbs. I’m not trying to be rude or anything.. but I just don’t get it.
Anthony Lopez -Off roading is hella fun. You can get to places that no one else can (google Top of the World or Black Bear Pass in Moab and Ouray, respectively), and see things very few people get to see. On top of that, off roading well is a skill that can be developed over time. It goes hand in hand with camping, hiking and biking. Beyond that, I can’t articulate in a TH-cam comment why it’s such a fantastic hobby. To my original point, however, Jeep Wrangler (Rubicons) are unique in their ability to deliver on that mission. Their incredible resale value proves they are not pieces of junk (as I suspected before owning one, to be completely honest.)
Gonna throw in some real world problems that I have experienced. Bought a 2014 Sport S in late 2013. After about 33,000 miles the front speed sensors went out.. then at near 40,000 the rear speed sensors went out. Traded it in in late 2016 for a new jeep sport unlimited that was loaded on display (wench, 35" tires, lift kit, bumpers, Oh shit handles, LED lights etc)... At about 35,000 the rear speed sensors went out. At about 50,000 the front speed sensors went out. Then at 66,000 the transmission went out. Bought a new transmission from dealership and two weeks later that one went out. That transmission was obviously under warranty. Fixing to go pick it today actually .. Love my jeep but loads of problems and I rarely go off road, city driven mostly.
@@Jump_Shock traded it for a 2021 Jeep Wrangler. the JL I have now has 51000 miles on it! lol I bought new with only 3 miles on it. I drive a lot, zero problems.
After a YJ with 300k miles, a JK with 140K (totaled from drunk driver), and now a newer JK with 120k and no issues.... Proper maintenance and a wrangler will last as long as you want it to.
115k miles on my 2012 JKR, wheeled the hell out of it, daily driven. The only things to break was the OEM battery in 2014 and the thermostat in 2017. I'd say my Wrangler, with the AA head, has been nothing but reliable.
great write-up! just bought my 2016 JKU sport- lots of off-road goodies on it. I was researching the steering to see if the small amount of play in the wheel was normal- and it is. I love driving this thing (6 sp manual) i look forward to driving it every day! and my hand gets tired from all the other wrangler waves! love it!
Just checking in! 2008 Sahara, original owner, rusted hinges, oil consumption (1 quart per 1000 miles), blown ball joints at 40k, radiator blew a leak upper corner 50k, freedom top leak, blinker stalk burned out, clear coat peeled off wheels, electronic burning smell occasionally, oil pan gasket leak, upper valve cover leak, just blew the transfer case bushings, driver side window regulator died, I'm sure there's more I just cant remember.
@@guyontheinternet8891 yes and no. I think when it comes to reliability, it has a lot to do with unexpected repairs. At some point you just get tired of sinking money into a vehicle and/or chasing issues. I just traded in my 2008 Canyon with 159K miles for basically that exact reason. I was quite meticulous with the maintenance, but at the end of the day, it was still a GM product with a bunch of random issues that weren't just "normal wear" parts. Hopefully the Tacoma I replaced it with fares much better.
It is for a 2 year old vehicle. It's not considered "high mileage" yet, but considerably more than most reviewers get to put into a vehicle. It's also more than most reviews I see in general as far as miles the owner has actually put on.
RedWings-44 I have a 2003 Tacoma With the 210,000 miles the second life cost me $10,000 in replacement and repairs so I told Cosco $35,000 for 18 years. I think after 2015 Toyota change the engine , and had some recalls. But understanding they have fixed most of the problems just be aware of that. I also have a 2012 FJ Cruiser Built with lots of extra goodies to go offloading not rock crawling I never had a mechanical issue. Look at Toy Tech.com for off road suspension upgrades. Best of luck!
Good honest review from Carlos! He gave points I didn't hear on other channels. It's a Jeep, love it or leave it. It's what other off-roaders are compared to.
I love the look and driving expirence of a wrangler. Something about them just makes you excited to drive one. Almost bought a gladiator last year, but the dealerships wernt playing nicely in the finacial department being that the demand was so high. So i went with a 19 ram 1500 laramie 4x4.
P JB I’ve never had one single issue with any wrangler I’ve owned. My first was a 98 TJ Sahara and I’ve owned 4 since putting about 300,000 miles cumulatively on them. All have had 35 or 37” tires and I’ve done all the maintenance after the free oil changes
@@mattbrew11 that's a lot of recalls, my 2013 fj cruiser has had any so far. And shock at 50k is pretty bad. Wear item shouldn't be lasting only 50k. I have tons of friends with jeeps and Toyota's and even jeep guys admit the Toyota are just more reliable. Other than the solid front end the jeep just break down more. Again we all head out and have fun, I don't hate jeeps just wouldn't put my money down or be soloing deep in the bush with one lol
I like how they say its loud and rides rough. I own a lifted 23 year old wrangler and THAT rides rough and is super loud, and that's part of what makes it so fun. Cars these days are so numb and refined that it makes this new version seem so "unrefined" when in reality it probably rides just like a 2005 truck, which is a good thing
150k on my 07 JK, had oil leak, Replaced broken radiator, Corroded muffler/converters, rebuild wore out manual transmission, 2 sets of Baja Mickey Thompson’s, and new convertible top. Why I don’t get rid of it, it has not left me stuck in the snow, floods, ice, Or other weather related stuff, and fixing it is a lot cheaper vs buying a new one, but I do have my eye on gladiator Mojave.
The best roof option for a JL Wrangler is the Bestop Sunrider for the hardtop. It replaces the two Freedom Panels with a easy to open soft top over the driver and passenger. A must have for any Wrangler owner.
My Jeep ownership experience was different. I have a 2018 JL with 65,000 miles. The passenger mirror will not tilt up/down, the rubber end of the driver's power window switch has worn off, I've had a rear main seal replaced and my odometer occasionally will start at 999999 miles. My son as a 2019 Rubicon that had $3000 in repairs in a 5 week span, coolant leak ($1200) and also a rear main seal leak ($1800) .
I had a 98 TJ that I put 30k miles on it in a year, not a single issue during the ownership. Drove it to Florida from Colorado multiple times and then drove it to Vegas before I sold it.
Decent review but I think your a little off on 2 points... 1) If you get the Diesel version you should see pretty awesome fuel economy...... 2) The vague steering and harder ride isn't really the Solid Front Axle its the suspension setup (shocks & Springs) there is a noticeable on road improvement with the Sahara, I know as I own a 2015 Sahara and the ride quality is better than the Rubicon. If you have ever driven a Toyota Landcruiser HZJ105 or FZJ105 then you will know what a solid front axle is really capable of, as those are really the king of off road, sadly they never sold them in North America...... Just my 2c
Best thing about Jeeps is their owners, sound of air or rustling top, they don’t even notice, a broken axle on a trail, who cares,,,,,, they are in Love with these vehicles and when you Live someone or something you can overlook a whole bunch of stuff! I’m to old for a Jeep, but I do like them so!
I just got my 2019 Wrangler, my first one !!!:) I've noticed I get a humming noise at times when going slow... Also once I hit 75 mph it starts to shake a bit..... Is this normal my fellow Jeep folks ??
Humming could be from the tires. When I had 35’s they would hum very loud going between 15-40 mph . Anything above that speed it would quiet down. I would try and make sure all your tires are balanced correctly, and have the suspension checked. Maybe some bolts got loose if you off road regularly.
Well done, Carlos. There is a simple fix to the biggest nit (on-center steering feel). The Synergy sector shaft brace is an inexpensive bolt-on part that improves on-center steering feel dramatically. Although not quite to the level of my E46 M3, on-center feel in my JLUR with the brace is at least on par with my ‘07 Odyssey, and that’s even with 37s and a 2.5” lift. Also, with regard to fuel economy, I’m surprised to hear you only saw 17.5 mpg throughout your test. I suspect that number was brought down some by off-road driving and highway/idle time as a support vehicle. I have the 2.0T with ETorque hybrid assist and I still typically get 17.5-19.5 per tank in mixed city/highway driving depending on driving conditions. But long highway trips are worse due to the hilariously poor aerodynamics. Anyway, at 25k into my first first Jeep ownership experience, I couldn’t be happier, trade-offs and all. 👍
It's good to know that there is an aftermarket part can help improve the on-center steering feel. --- I am looking into a Willys now and the wiggle room of the steering wheel seems to be concerning. (although I haven't test drove any yet)
I have been pleasently surprised wit h Wrangler reliability. We have 3 Wranglers and our 2016 JK Hard Rock has 91K miles and still looks and drives like new. Love that. No other vehielce including the bronco is as good off road. No other vehicle has the after market support to go insane off roading. Get a Wrangler and love the outdoors again.
Goodness, after I saw 9 recalls, I went to Toyota and got a 4runner base 4x4 SR5, because I'm not going to throw away money on a TRD pro, I'll save that money and build it to my spec.
Test Drove a Rubicon at Carmax and it was the most fun I've ever had but there were significant electeical problems and had to go straight to the service center. Would rent one but not necessarily buy or use every day
I can say the more I drove it the more it wondered all over the place. Not for casual relaxed driving. Well it jumped a line and got hit head on, no more 2018 rubicon. Seven months later and still haven’t settled. Good times , thanks Jeep Wrangler.
My 2021 rubicon gladiator (diesel) had a high pressure fuel pump recall, and I get a "service axle locker" prompt every once in a while. According to the dealer I need to switch it from 2x4 to 4x4 and back more frequently otherwise it starts to dry or seize or rust (not really sure).
I understand why you review the Jeep based on what non-Jeep people find important, but if you are a Jeep person, you don't care about a smooth ride, comfort, etc... It's a Jeep! If you want a smooth ride and all those things then drive a vehicle for you, like a Prius, Cadillac etc... Off road vehicles aren't for everyone and we like it like that. Also a Jeep isn't a car, truck is closer, but the real name of a Jeep, is Jeep, it's that unique.
Owned a 93 Jeep until 2003 love it the kids loved it and you had the best of both worlds but I do wish that they would come back with the in line 6 again had so much power I pulled my brother in law f250 plus a 42 foot camper out of the mud and it did it with easy
Lots of 4runner vs Jeep comments as usual ono these videos. Just traded a current generation 4runner for a 2021 Wrangler. Had the 4runner for over 10 years and loved it, but honestly fell in love with the Wrangler when I drove it. The next-generation 4runner is still a ways off and I still see owning another of those also. But definitely going to enjoy this Jeep in the meantime. Having now owned both, they are a much different overall experience.
@JonsReef 256k on my 1995 Cherokee XJ, two door, manual transmission, 4WD. I had to replace the floor pans and the front sway bar, plus normal maintenance. I am the original owner. I aim to get another 200k out of it. :) I have used it as it was intended. I removed the back seat and the storage bin between the front seats - all it did was collect shit I didn't need. I also gutted the catalytic converter and installed a low temp thermostat. Have a few more mods to complete this summer. It's possible that I die before seeing 400k+ miles simply because I don't drive that often. Camping trips and beach are the only miles it sees anymore. I love my jeep!

TH-cam WRANGLE JKLS...
Gladiator here, 30k per year. I love it. Easy to work on too. Pentastar is reliable if maintained.
My 2010 wrangler I bought new and have put all 215,000 miles on it to date and all I’ve done is maintain it. It’s been one hell of a vehicle for me.
hey do u still have the jk? hows it holding up?
I have a 2009 JKU about to roll 200k miles. I do off-road it at least once a month. I have had to replace almost everything. 2 transmissions, heater core, radiator, rotors calipers pads, exhaust, 4 O2 sensors. Axle seals, drive shafts, injectors. I change the oils every 3000k. Still love it. 🎉
I keep hearing Jeeps suck from people that never owned a Jeep and people that do are like, they're good. I drove a wrangler for 10 days while road tripping through Southern California and I absolutely loved it. I wanna get one eventually
I have 201,376 miles on my 2008 JKU . It has been super reliable. It’s been lifted and on 35’s it’s whole life 🇺🇸
2008 JKU with 242k. :)
I just rented a JL and it drove like a caddy. It was awesome and so smooth and comfortable.
I’ve got 38,000 on my 18 JLUR and I couldn’t be happier. Yes some recalls and small glitches here and there but I absolutely love this vehicle.
Don't worry, Toyota is the champion of recalls... lol. Greetings from Costa Rica.

I have a 2018 JLUR and couldn’t be happier with it. No complaints, no issues, and the kids love the light trail/off roading we do occasionally.
That's a steal, congrats!
since there's no such thing as a used car Factory.. you say thank you in full humility to the people who man up an bought your "used" Jeep that you could later buy..
Agree. Bought my '98 in '99 and paid 18,000 ($23k new). It's been a strong performer with nothing wrong I didn't cause myself.
JonsReef that’s the irony. You say they are stupid but without people who buy new YOU don’t have a car. Or less options
How is it holding up now and what’s the mileage at?

younghex - How many miles so far? How issues have you had with it?
I'm going to test drive a 2015 sport 4x4 with a 6sp manual with 89.000 miles. They are asking 17.500. What do you think? To many miles.
I own a nice 4X4 Tacoma truck and two sports cars. The truck gets driven twice a month...maybe.
He’s over exaggerating
at 1:26 you say "Electronically disconnectable front and rear sway bars" but it's just the front that is electronically disconnectable.
My 2019 JL hasn’t had any issues with 19,000km here in Australia. One minor recall.
Third Jeep in my career,no issues of any consequence.
Thank you Carlos Lago for an excellent review. 😊👍
I still remember your great reviews when working for Motor Trend.
Take care.
I applaud that it seems much more tempting at a somewhat palatable price point.
i know this is an old post but for every one else ,its still 4095 dollars
I used to hate this car time ago due to their poor reliability according to feedback I constantly heard, but honestly, This machine now rocks! I would love to have one soon! great video! thanks!

As a chrysler tech, it should have an oil leake or two in 20k mi
Beastly Dookie Exactly!! They just glossed over the reliability facts...only mentioning the shocks issues.
Arcus Puffious glossed over? They broke down every little cost and issue they had with the wrangler. Besides that my Jeep with 55k has zero leaks and I beat the piss out of it. Not to mention of my many friends with jeep I don’t know any that have any problems out of the ordinary.

The fact ppl are commenting “I went 10k miles with no repairs” or even 50k miles (which is nothing proves how big of a joke the brand is)
My Toyota 4Runner has 239,000 HARD miles on it.
I'm glad my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Sahara doesn't have any of the issues and complaints you mentioned in the video about the JL.
How is it doing now? And what’s the mileage?

50k miles for a jeep w no issues is something to be proud of. It’s quite the miracle.
P JB I’ve never had one single issue with any wrangler I’ve owned. My first was a 98 TJ Sahara and I’ve owned 4 since putting about 300,000 miles cumulatively on them. All have had 35 or 37” tires and I’ve done all the maintenance after the free oil changes
well they did have like 9 recalls for that years and 3 leaky shocks, so pretty much par for the course for a jeep
Lee Bodson recalls happen among all manufacturers. Shocks are a wear item.
Have a 95 Wrangler, 200k mlles. Runs fine, drive off road more than on road. About time for a new clutch, but otherwise just keeps going.
The best roof option for a JL Wrangler is the Bestop Sunrider for the hardtop. It replaces the two Freedom Panels with a easy to open soft top over the driver and passenger. A must have for any Wrangler owner.
2 happiest days in a jeep owners life... day they buy it and the day they sell it!
Lol ok Scotty Kilmer
I’ve had mine since 2003. Still love it.
My Jeep ownership experience was different. I have a 2018 JL with 65,000 miles. The passenger mirror will not tilt up/down, the rubber end of the driver's power window switch has worn off, I've had a rear main seal replaced and my odometer occasionally will start at 999999 miles. My son as a 2019 Rubicon that had $3000 in repairs in a 5 week span, coolant leak ($1200) and also a rear main seal leak ($1800) .
why is your son paying anything out of pocket for repairs for a 2019. it should be covered under warranty
mine has 80,000 and i drive 4 hrs every friday and every monday...it doesnt go off road much
Why the hell do you drive a Jeep 4 hours every Friday and Monday? What a waste of gas money
Same reason everyone drives. To get somewhere! If you have the money... why not?
Today is Especially Delicious I’d rather buy anything other than gas lol. To each his own
I had a 98 TJ that I put 30k miles on it in a year, not a single issue during the ownership. Drove it to Florida from Colorado multiple times and then drove it to Vegas before I sold it.
On center vagness has to do with it having a steering box as apposed to a rack and pinion silly goose pants. Not "all that off-road hardware"
Just my 2c
Is there a 50 thousand review for the 2.0 turbo?
Just hit 60K on my 4runner. Only had to get new tires(by choice), changed some oil and fluids, bought a airfilter, and greased some zerks.
Best resale vehicle on planet earth!!! Nothing beats on a jeep
Do an episode comparing Jeep to the new Bronco please? :)
Haven't seen your vids since MotorTrend. Great review as always and great beard bro!
Just hit 60k on my JLUR and the only thing I’ve needed to do was replace a sensor. I’ve been super happy with it
206k on my 09 Rubicon .
Any real problems? Looking to get a 2012-2015 wrangler 2 door
I'm only at 47 k on my 08 JK. USE ONLY MOBIL 1 EVERY 5 K. I've had it 14 months and logged 3k miles.
Still is like a new vehicle to me 👍
Every Jeep should come with a spare Tacoma.
I traded my JK for a Tacoma and I miss my JK more.
Goodness, after I saw 9 recalls, I went to Toyota and got a 4runner base 4x4 SR5, because I'm not going to throw away money on a TRD pro, I'll save that money and build it to my spec.
You said disconnecting front and rear sway bars.. it only got front ones
7:00 the supervising producer rocks his land cruiser in the back :)
Great review , thanks .
Test Drove a Rubicon at Carmax and it was the most fun I've ever had but there were significant electeical problems and had to go straight to the service center. Would rent one but not necessarily buy or use every day
282k on my silverado 09 just lost the original trans :(
@Der Schwindel 5.3 6speed 4x4 did a lot of towing trailers too.
I can say the more I drove it the more it wondered all over the place. Not for casual relaxed driving.
Well it jumped a line and got hit head on, no more 2018 rubicon. Seven months later and still haven’t settled. Good times , thanks Jeep Wrangler.
You know Ben Affleck hit his career rock bottom when you see him reviewing Jeeps.
literally shut up
My 2021 rubicon gladiator (diesel) had a high pressure fuel pump recall, and I get a "service axle locker" prompt every once in a while. According to the dealer I need to switch it from 2x4 to 4x4 and back more frequently otherwise it starts to dry or seize or rust (not really sure).
Carlos is trying to look tougher because Elena Scher used to call him “Pretty Boy”.
Bill P That's Mr Pretty Boy to you, Bill
Glad to see you have a sense of humor!
Have a 2013 rubicon 10th anniversary edition and 220,000 miles and still running.
50,000 miles in a wrangler!! Wow, would never have imagined. It must be the one good car that Jeep has ever built.
Jeeps number one at making number two,s
Never owned one but all my friends were above 250k but maybe that's a few generations ago. (Straight 6) I'm scared to look at fiat Chrysler version
Honest, simple, accurate review, thanks for the video.
That's all. I think this guy has said it all and should be the end of discussion.
Owned a 93 Jeep until 2003 love it the kids loved it and you had the best of both worlds but I do wish that they would come back with the in line 6 again had so much power I pulled my brother in law f250 plus a 42 foot camper out of the mud and it did it with easy

@@CarlosLago should I take it back?
Robert Alberto Brito Lee never
@@CarlosLago you are freaking awesome, may HaShem bless and keep you and yours safe and healthy, shalom!
260000miles on my 1994 corolla oh wait this is about jeeps.
186000 on my JK Rubicon and she runs like new. Plus, I can go anywhere and don’t look a pussy in a sensible compact.
@Karol Szymon Wiśniewski What freighter did you ship it on and from where to where?
Your 98 jeep grand....is very lucky to make that far.😏
