Hey Kellen, here's an idea that I've been thinking about. What about discussing how good was certain status ailments (sleep, paralysis, poison etc.) actually. Like discussing how certain status mechanics worked per generation (example being how and why Toxic wasn't used much in Gen 1, but ended up being prevalent in the generations to come), as well as viability in competitive play (like how often was it used, and which Pokemon or teams used it often) per generation. If it doesn't eat much of your time, I'd love to see the history of certain status ailments in competitive play. Of course, you'll discuss only one status ailment per video. That's all, and excellent job as always. Keep up the good work ^_^

Kyogre was so good that you pretty much couldn't make a competitive team for a while without having something that counters it, or just using the big blue fish itself.
Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza (even on their standard forms) are probably the strongest trio of Pokémon ever, I don't think that they needed upgraded forms but whatever, btw the designs are just amazing

@Airock the Great when I learned that most pokemon are small I got so sad. I envisioned kyogre and it's legendary counterparts to be huge for the most part. I'm taller than most pokemon :/
This legendary trio really made an immense impact on the meta game. Every single one of them changed the meta in their own way. Especially with the primal forms.
who would win: an entire tier of all of pokemon's fiercest opponents too strong for even the most competitive tier of overused threats or one fishy boi
I absolutely love how Pokémon has managed to keep the legendary weather trio of Gen 3 relevant in the meta for so long. Such iconic legendaries, and definitely my favorite!
The ... type probably wasn't all that great. It had only one attack to its name, and no pokémon that bore it, making it pretty situational, if you ask me. I wonder if he'll ever say how good the Bird type was actually. I've heard it was crazy good. Like, literally game-breaking.
My all-time favorite legendary. Mascot of my first Pokémon game, which is also my birthstone and favorite color. Kyogre will always be top-tier in my heart
I thought that you would at least mention that Shedinja is the best Kyogre counter in existence and our old friend Quagsire checks it like no other. But it's ok since you told us about that in their respective videos. Thanks Kellen for the effort!!!
It's kinda sad that our old friend Quagsire isn't mentioned in the video, which was one of, if not, the best Kyogre check in Gens 3 and 4. Amazing video overall Kellen, like always.
252+ SpA Kyogre Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 192 SpD Quagsire: 140-165 (35.5 - 41.8%) -- 86.3% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery That’s why. Ice Beam still hurts and Specs Ice Beam is worse.
I don't play competitive Pokemon, but I find these videos fascinating and have been binge watching them. Some really neat information and I've learned more about certain Pokemon and what they can and cannot do well. Great content.
honestly i think primordial sea and desolate land should both be in effect, but only strengthen the water and fire moves instead of making them fizzle. you know, because when groudon and kyogre were both awake in emerald the sky would rapidly change between heavy rain and intense sunlight
mega mewtwo:people do not recongise my power therefor i was locked in ubers while green snake got into ag and i shall release my wrath on you! coughs then uses psystrike to abliverate kyogre
I would like to hear Kellen weigh in on the on the the galar dex only drama and possibly adress if effects it may have on the metagame, like creating power vaccums or creating uncounterd holes in the game.
you are if you aren't carrying Multiscale, Toxic, Whirlwind, Dragon Tail, Roost, Careful Nature and 252 Sp. Defense EVs. otherwise the joke is on Kyogre.
Kyogre is still my favourite of the 3, don't get me wrong I love Groudon and Rayquaza but in terms of design, I just think Kyogre is the best 1. Hell, I actually played through Pokemon Ruby before Pokemon Sapphire just because I wanted to save the best for last.
Gen 3: Groudon lures in Kyogre and hits it with a powerful earthquake. Gen 6: Primal Kyogre lures in Primal Groudon and hits it with a powerful earthquake Groudon: You dare use my own spells against me, Potter?
Imagine What if Pokémon Company increases Primal Kyogre Defence to 150 instead of Attack and given him electric type too and Primal Groudon's Sp.def insted of sp.attack
I'm amazed at how you've been able to consistently put these videos out every week for a couple of years now! I'd really like to see a behind the scenes/making of FSG video!
During the segment talking about Kyogre in VGC 2010, it was mentioned that Hitmontop used Wide Guard to support Kyogre, but the move Wide Guard wasn't introduced until Generation 5. It's by no means a big deal, just wanted to point it out!
Sapphire was my very first Pokemon game and I loved playing through it. And to this day Kyogre is my favorite legendary and with him and swampert, they are the reason water is my favorite type
Ok that has to be a joke its ability causes rain increasing power it gets calm mind to increase special attack and special defense its signature move is 150 base power and is stab plus choice specs
Without playing Gens 6-7 Ubers myself, it took me some time to reason out that as cool as Primal Ogre was, there's good reason we call Primal Don the best in the game: SD, Rock Polish, 'what priority' Def, singular weakness, devastating mixed options - all of that belonged to Kyogre's counterpart. Kyogre's self-sufficiency is essentially Resttalk and timely Scald burns or Thunder paras. Barren support movepool, significantly weaker mixed options (it's hard being a bloody whale), nothing to boost Speed - not the same league whatever. I'm glad you made this video, for I really had to think on it.
When I played Pokemon Battle Revolution online way back when, I got a Giratina, made it super specially defensive and taught it Thunder just to counter all the Kyogres people had.
what i think is the most interessting thing are the Teams he mentioned in Gen 4. I bet this is nothing new for people who know much about Gen 4 VGC but the teams didnt decide between rain or sun but just did both and decided which one would be better in which situation. This is so mindblowing for me XD
Tbh I love using scarf Kyogre instead of Primal in Uber’s along with Jolly scarf Marshadow. Kyogre kills with Scarf Water Spout and Jolly Scarf Marshadow outspeeds Modest Xerneas with a Geomancy and can Spectral thief it
Really wow he also the only pokemon to be the king of ubers for 3 gens arceus was only in Japan in gen 4 and in 3 4 5 kyogre was just insane and ever in gen 6 it won worlds in terms of consistency these know like kyogre and groudon and of course mewtwo

Maybe it’s just that Kyogre was my first legendary Pokémon, but he’s still one of my top favorites. Gen 3 legendaries were so badass.
2:47 damn deoxys got the whole bakery
Will another "How good was the ... type actually" ever happen?
I want to see the fighting type
I want to see the steel type
@D2o40 Akz gen V dragon was stronger IMO
The ... type probably wasn't all that great. It had only one attack to its name, and no pokémon that bore it, making it pretty situational, if you ask me.
I wonder if he'll ever say how good the Bird type was actually. I've heard it was crazy good. Like, literally game-breaking.

primal cry is badass

Kyogre is my baby. Being the first legendary I ever caught since sapphire was the first Pokémon game I ever completed. This Pokémon is very dear to me

Kyogre remains one of my favourite Pokémon, not just among legendaries. Its design is amazing, and its power is deserving of its status.

I always keep hearing about the Lati twins but no videos on them? Come on bro
That may be why there are no videos so far, the Lati twins are just really good, and covering them would take a really long time.
I can imagine they were both way to OP for ADV and DPP
Ok have fun with that
@person person
Yea I watched it bro
I thought that you would at least mention that Shedinja is the best Kyogre counter in existence and our old friend Quagsire checks it like no other. But it's ok since you told us about that in their respective videos. Thanks Kellen for the effort!!!
wouldn't Ice Beam screw over Shedinja? I think Bug is weak to Ice.
Gastrodon since BW is a better counter than Quagsire

That glow Kyogre's model had in Battle Revolution looked so rad.
Kyogre: “you cant defeat me.”
Groudon: “i know. But he can.”

Kyogre is still my favourite of the 3, don't get me wrong I love Groudon and Rayquaza but in terms of design, I just think Kyogre is the best 1.

Gen 3: Groudon lures in Kyogre and hits it with a powerful earthquake.
Gen 6: Primal Kyogre lures in Primal Groudon and hits it with a powerful earthquake
Groudon: You dare use my own spells against me, Potter?
And now, with Megas (and presumably Primals) wiped from Gen 8, Kyogre will be back on top of Kyogre v Groudon.

I'm amazed at how you've been able to consistently put these videos out every week for a couple of years now! I'd really like to see a behind the scenes/making of FSG video!
I remember back in "the day", the good old mewtwo vs kyogre debate....
Never get tired of these. I wasn't a fan of gen 3, but I seen kyogre and groundon to know I hated battling against them.
FSG: Always respect choice specs kyogre
Me: You should also respect parasect
Referring to XD as the Ludicolo Chronicles Vol. 2 might be the best joke in this entire channel's history
During the segment talking about Kyogre in VGC 2010, it was mentioned that Hitmontop used Wide Guard to support Kyogre, but the move Wide Guard wasn't introduced until Generation 5. It's by no means a big deal, just wanted to point it out!

He may be OP but boy does someone have to keep waking me up since Kyogre keeps fighting Groudon

Quagsire: Hold my beer
Parasect, Toxicroak, and Gastrodon: Allow us to introduce ourselves

Sure I can’t
When I played Pokemon Battle Revolution online way back when, I got a Giratina, made it super specially defensive and taught it Thunder just to counter all the Kyogres people had.
