    Hi,
    I am 70 yrs old in 3 weeks. I am gifting myself "YOGA" for my next decade. My body is broken, worn or damaged. I am commiting myself to this practice to see if I can still fulfill some of my unfinished dreams. One is to paddle from Hope BC to Lulu Island BC. Here goes! I randomly picked your u-tube and find your instructive voice resonates with me. It has a good pace, doesn't sound condesending and very clear. Thank you for getting me on the way?

    I just started yoga to help me through my cancer treatment. So I picked up some yoga blocks since I'm new and not very flexible. You did a wonderful job explaining in detail safe ways to use these things! Thank you!

      Rachel, my best wishes to you on your cancer journey. I pray you will be able to successfully go into remission and that cancer will stay at bay. My mother did yoga as well during her cancer fight. I just received her yoga block this last week in her belongings and found this video to see what exactly you do with a yoga block. It was a very informative video, I do agree. Sincerely, Michelle from Georgia, USA

      @@MusicMovesMe78 Thank you so much for the well wishes. I count myself fortunate to be in remission for a year and some change at this point. I know it most certainly not the case for many... I do know that yoga is a strong component for development and recovery for both the body and mind. Tbh I fell out of the practice due to a sudden weight gain after treatment. I wasn't strong enough to lift myself off the ground for some poses.

    I have just began yoga to help with pain and noticed such benefits even though I know good and well I am “not doing it right” a lot of the time. My back is weak, and it’s hard learning from a video with no one to provide feedback. Your video has shown me ways to use the props I’ve bought to modify what I’ve been learning and work towards proper alignment and posture. Thank you so much for such great detail and visual description

    I fell out of consistent yoga practice a few years ago, and I'm going to be 46 in two weeks. I also had thyroid cancer surgery and treatment this year. Needless to say, I'm not as fit or flexible as I was 6 or 7 years ago. I've been trying to be more consistent with my practice but have sometimes been discouraged by my limitations. This video was so informative, and your directions were so clear. I feel more confident about practicing yoga again. Thank you so much for sharing!

      why would Covid restrict this pose? No hate I just want to make sure I am not doing something I shouldn't!!!

    • @tyharness2527
      @tyharness2527 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@usern2842 yep sorry does not make sense. legs up the wall is great relax pose prob very useful if youve had covid.
      when we went back to the hall a year ago for public classes you wernt allowed to touch the walls or doors without disinfecting before or after. same with tree pose no touching the walls. Plus the social distancing you could only stay on your mat. I ment for covid restriction reasons. i notice now all those rules have slipped.

    Can I use something else instead of a block?

    • @yogawithuliana
      @yogawithuliana  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Depending on the pose, you can sometimes substitute it with firm cushions or folded blanket(like in seated positions, supported bridge, legs up the wall) and big heavy books or even something like an empty shoebox when you need support for the hand( in triangle, side angle, half moon etc)
      But in general, I recommend getting a pair of yoga blocks if you can because it's hard to find one household object that works well for all the uses of the yoga block)
