    One prop i cannot live without are Yoga Blocks, Check out these foam blocks: amzn.to/31fcb1a
    Foam Yoga blocks are much softer yet still supportive.
    They are my favourite to utilize in any restorative practice as opposed to the bamboo and cork which are much harder and offer less give, however as seen in the video, grab what you have closest and lets flow!

    This is how my obsession with using yoga blocks in my practice started. It just completely releases the upper back.

    Anyone reading this comment to see if they should do this or not - just do it. I haven't done yoga in a while and I've been stressed out. Recovering from illness as well and my body has been feeling achy. Loved the neck movements in the beginning but the stretch after that didn't do much for me (where you hook your arm to the thigh and turn back) so was debating whether or not this video will hit for me. The moment the yoga blocks kicked in, little bit of discomfort at first, but key is aligning the blocks properly and supporting your head - AND GOD DAMN IT FELT LIKE HEAVEN. Her voice, the music, how long we held the poses for. I was going to fall asleep. I loved this video and would HIGHLY recommend it! Looking forward to what other videos she has with use of blocks!

    I finally got myself a pair of yoga blocks so wanted to try out a video using them, and came across this. My back was in agony at the start, even just sitting in the upright position was uncomfortable. The difference at the end is incredible, I literally feel like all the stress and tension has left my back.

    First time using yoga blocks! It was a very new sensation for my upper back but I swear I feel taller. Thank you for this gentle but effective practice!

    This was awesome. I just got a yoga block and could not wait to use it. I also have been having a lot of stress in my back. I got up from this session really feeling the difference. I was shocked at how long we laid on the yoga block and was like this isn't doing anything. but once I started to just focus and release, I felt the difference. Thank you

    I keep coming back to this video ever since I bought two yoga blocks this month. Love the practice! Can I ask what is the safe way to remove the blocks from the posture when I am beginner and doesn’t have much core strength? Thanks!

    • @YogaWithBird
      @YogaWithBird  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I’m so happy you’re enjoying this class! Be sure to check out my other yoga block routines in the yoga block playlist if you wanna try some other yoga block poses ❤️
      It is definitely a lot harder to get off the block most times, it can feel really daunting but what I suggest is before you plan to lift up from the pose about 1 Min - 30 seconds before, place a block, books or 2-3 pillows under your head so it allows the body to get used to less pressure over the block. Then you can press the forearms and elbows into the mat to help peel yourself off the block. This is how I found it much easier to remove the block. Really try to get your elbows beside the block and press into the elbows and forearm. I hope this helps ❤️❤️

    • @kamanmusic
      @kamanmusic 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Icic, thank you so much!! I have been using the second block for my head to reduce the tension for these postures. Will make sure I use my elbow more when removing the block! Thank you, I will check out your other videos too! 😘

    • @YogaWithBird
      @YogaWithBird  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome! I hope it helps! Don’t worry it gets easier as the body opens up it won’t be as intense removing the block unless your body decides it’s feeling extra tense hehe that’s ok to, the body has its way of changing day by day. Enjoy the journey and flow with it ❤️🙌🤗

    • @kamanmusic
      @kamanmusic 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yoga With Bird I think you advice helps, I feel easier to remove the blocks now! Also, I started doing weight training last week so I guess that helps too ☺️ This routine is so good to relieve the tension from daily lives and the workouts, thank you again! X

    Instead of using a pillow, can you just turn the block flat, so it's not so high?

      It might just be extra uncomfortable. I’ll get a video up demonstrating where it should go and remember that each body is different so what’s good for me might not be good for you.

    Can you tell me the different between placing the blocks vertical and horizontal ways? Do they function differently?

    • @YogaWithBird
      @YogaWithBird  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      vertical offers a bit more support as it takes up more of the spine, making it less of a back bend (even though it's still pretty deep). Placing the block horizontal will be a deeper back bend and will actually act as a foam roller in a way as it adds pressure within the muscles along the spine and bring blood flow. This is an area that can hold alot of tension so having the bodyweight pressure can feel like a nice release especially if you gently rock side to side (if the pose if comfortable already) for me, this option is much deeper and i find it a great addition right after having the block in a vertical position. 💗💗
