Can't wait to see your results. We've got an entire series down here on the Gulf coast. Definitely like the price.
You can tell by your intro you amped for racing to start!! Yesterday was supposed to be first practice here in indiana, but it was to cold and wet, we would have definately needed those 11s in the 30s.. and im surprised you got as much info on the reapers as you did with all the tire "black magic". Are you just clone racing this year? We dont have many open tire tracks here in the midwest, Burris is King. ide like to try some of these but simply not worth buying them when i cant run them anywhere.. keep the videos coming Ben!!
Thanks. Yes primarily clone but plan on a uas race or two.
Clone vs UAS you'll find you have to prep differently too. You get down in the 20s-30s duro clone racing you'll be slow... 😮
Yeh def can be more aggressive with uas.
Ya get a leaky tire put a tick of water and dawn together roll it in the tire it wont leak again.thats hoosiers fix.
I’ve heard that. Hmmmmm
It is a shame ( IMHO) that "prep" is part of racing. We never did this in the 70's and had just as much fun. And a few sets lasted all season. Prep, amongst other things, is making the sport more expensive than is should be. I have seen some racers with a trailer full of tires. How can the "average" racer compete?
I think that right there is why Reapers are doing so well. Not only cost effective but they don’t require a lot of “prep” to be competitive. Also some tracks are having a “dirty tire rule” one set for the night. All good ideas to keep the cost down. Imo.
Prep has been in Dirt Karts forever.
I started racing reapers a .
They're easier to work very Responsive to prep. Alston banker makes a great prep for reapers
I’ve Hurd from some people that’s the reapers are like the old maxxis EL compound very tough easy to prep a make fast. Can run same set all night.
Keystone State Series is all Reaper tires. Except kt100 and Uas
Cool. Love to see competition
Are those the new style?
Second gen. Yes.
Ben, Do you mount 9.00 on 10 inch wide rms or 11 inch wide?
10” is all I have
End of the day they're made to be a cheap maxxis... they had a big showcase at port royal speedway last year running reaper only and they seemed to work just as well as any other tire but seem to have the plastic feel of maxxis ... I know penns creek and some other tracks down here in pa are running weekly reaper only classes so I guess we'll see just how fast they can be going forward.. of course up our way it's Burris or sticky icky yellow Vegas... they just work.. just curious as i may have missed it why are you getting away from racing u.a.s.
Combined things. I’m not quitting UAS just wanna race local a bit more and looking for a challenge. I traveled a lot for the better part of 18 years. Still have my uas bama ride
@kart6t3_ben right on brother ... wasn't sure if I missed something or not... don't blame ya on being burnt out on traveling as much as uas does
What do the reapers duro at, right outta the box??
Pretty cold in the barn. I’ll have to check but I hear 55ish
David, Mine where 61 straight out of the box
Can we just ban prep universally? Nothing good comes from it. Millbridge banned it and the racing is excellent. Hell we even run hoodier treaded to make the ksrts harder to drive.
It’s doesn’t always play out that way. I know tracks that have “forced” new rules on people and it cost them racers and in the long run the tracks aren’t open. If you ban it then you have to police it because people will always look for an advantage. Not many are willing to take these kind of risks. IMO
@@kart6t3_ben yeah we do tire tests and they impound the kids tires. They race 4 days a week now with all the classes. It's pretty wild to see 200 karts on a Tuesday/Wednesday night
