  • Days 2 & 3 I cycle from West Newton to Rockwood, PA. Beautiful trail but limited camping opportunities. Day two I stayed in the Melody Motel in Connellsville, PA. I don't recommend you stay there because of it's location on a very busy, hilly road. Instead I recommend the Comfort Suites on the trail in Connellsville. The 3rd day I stayed in a Hostel in Rockwood since their were limited camping opportunities on the trail. Day four I'm off to Cumberland. So far it's been a really nice trail with a constant uphill of 1 - 2 percent.

      Hi Thomas, it was a nice trail. I use a DJI Mic 2. I don't think it is compatible with GoPro. Check out some TH-cam videos to find out. It works with my DJI Action 4 and DJI Pocket 3. Also works with a Insta360 Ace Pro. Although I don't recommend the Ace Pro since it's not a good vlogging camera. You have to hold it about 2 feet from your face to be in focus. I hope you are doing well and look forward to your next videos. Take care, Steve

    Hi Steve, I’m 68 and walk 4 mph I just love it. For me being old is a frame of mind and everyday eating 4-5 fresh fruits keeps me healthy. Sometimes people need permission to continue bike riding, working out, etc. as they get older and when they saw a serious slightly older cyclist like yourself it boost their confidence that they can do it too!

    Ha ha! Old - no way!! You would put people half your age to shame - keep it up! It’s funny, but when I am on my bike, I think I look younger and pretty cool. Then I look in the mirror and get a dose of reality. 😂 Great video as always. We have begun making our reservations for the GAP and C&O starting from Pittsburgh on Oct. 1. I am a camper, but my husband is not, so B&B’s and motels for us on this trip. When I do camp, it is with a Nemo Hornet 2 person freestanding tent with a total weight - poles, tent, and footprint - of about 2 1/2 pounds. It’s my go-to for cycling and kayaking trips. Happy riding!

    Is grit making noise on your brake discs(?)...but probably the rear hub pawls I'm hearing on the 600X. Tough hub but loud.
    I just received my 600ADX (new version)... pawls on the rear hub of 600ADX is louder than I've had so far.

    • @steveretiredandcycling
      @steveretiredandcycling  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes it was grit along with my front brakes were a little out of alignment. I readjusted them in Cumberland and cleaned the rotors. No problem after that. My handlebar mounted camera also picks up a lot of road noise. Next trip I will use an external microphone for that camera also. The pawls on my 600X are very quiet. Hope you're enjoying your 600ADX. The trail surface looks very nice. I'll be sure to spend time in Ohiopyle when we pass through. With regards to the lean-to, they are for people to sleep in without setting up a tent. If you wanted to stay there you would just break out your sleeping pad and sleeping bag and sleep on the floor. I would not recommend setting up a tent or hammock in the lean-to as it limits the capacity for others to stay there.

If you can do 10 miles now, next week do 11 miles and the week after do 12 miles. Before you know it you'll be doing 50 mile rides.
