as a guy who spars 4-5 times a week I agree with this. also good to film spars and roast techniques after so we have to improve and learn more tricks into the bag

Super important message as you get older as well. At 46, with a lifetime of little injuries catching up with me, ‘play’ sparring is all I’ll ever do now, but it’ll keep me sharp and honest into my 50s and beyond!

Sparring is my favorite way to train, as long as you find partners that can keep it light and technical!

Love touch sparring for practicing principles and concepts after just learning them and getting reflexes and defense nice and tuned up. Only thing I dislike about touch sparring is it could train you to be too relaxed which isn’t always ideal in all cases especially against a pressuring round 1 front runner throwing full power punches trynna take your head off. I also don’t like how it can enforce bad habits like arm punches or aiming at non damaging targets like the top of the head instead of square on the chin. I think light sparring is great but nothing teaches you composure in real stressful exchanges like hard sparring Definately controversial but that’s just my humble opinion. I think most sparring should be light and fun, but there’s a time and place for hard sparring. On the other hand, hard sparring constantly you can also accumulate brain damage and also just forget to practice specific techniques/concepts due to the stressful nature of it.

You’re right! There is a time and place for different intensities of sparring.

Spar at the beginning of every class with someone you are comfortable with. It will help make the light sparring feel more real since you are both fresh still. I did this for a while and i saw great benefit in improving my actual fighting skills.
Although I do believe once you and that person are comfortable, ask them for harder/faster rounds. Because nothing beats the real thing

Try Skipping the rope(36-40 min), Run 10 km(36-40 min), HIIT training ( sprinting with jogging(50 metres, 50 metres for 20 sets), running uphill
You will definitely become much better.
I am from Bangkok, a former Ratchadamnoen Muay Thai champ at 125 lb(57 kg), a sub-10 Ironman and a landlord of 12 condominiums (bought them in cash)
      I am 175 cm(5'9", 125 lbs natural weight(57 kg)
I have started my day with 10 kg running in 36-40 minutes everyday. Now, I don't compete anymore, but I still train everyday. I have become a sub-10 Ironman and a sub-3 marathon runner.
If you want to improve the cardio, you gotta put the work in smartly and effectively.

@@JawhBoyLeaf I am a Muay Femur and I think cardio is important. When Muay Femur has cardio, Muay Khao(knee fighters) cannot derail your games.

Oh boy.... i got triggered... i try to match their speed and power and then they said to me.... hey you sparr hard pls slow down... and i was like...... what?? you started it first... mehhh..... newbies... hahahaha i know i got ego.. hahahha im just being honest. i dont want to be an asshole. i just want them to know dont punch the seniors hard.. because they will pay the price * evil laugh hahahaha

I can sympathize with that, it’s tough not to teach a lesson. But you are so much better, so be defensive, push them. And they may grow into a great sparring partner. But always protect yourself.
