In this video, you will see Elite level Muay Thai sparring between ONE Championship Muay Thai fighter Liam Nolan and the rising star Nico Carrillo. these are raw and uncut sparring sessions giving you a real insight into how the top-level fighters train.
I would like to give a special thanks to Christian Knowles of the Knowlesy Academy for inviting me down to there closed doors pro fighter sparring session.

My coach told me the most important thing in combat sports is having a friend that you can punch in the face and smile/hug after. Pretty accurate and well-represented here!

What are you talking about controlled? This is a full power muaythai fight without elbows and knees to the head. If someone gets staggered Im sure they wont go for the ko but these guys are throwing full power make no mistake.

The emotional control of these fighters is pretty nuts. To take a hard shot to the face and not even acknowledge it.😨

It's also part of the point system. In a Muay Thai match, how you respond to a hit impacts your score as well. All part of the training process.
Sparring is such a beautiful experience. It humbles you like no other thing, makes you more resilient in life and those who respectfully hit you in the face are some of the people I've come to respect the most. Oss.
There is nothing that humbles you more than sparring. When you think you're a tough guy because you have muscles and then you get your ass whooped at the fight gym I guaranty it humbles you 😂

I've seen fights that were boring, this was an exciting sparring session to watch. Good work boys
some people actually prefer these sparring sessions over fights, no crowd noise, you hear the hits etc etc
Now that was some proper sparring! Excellent dodging by the smaller guy. And seemingly, they both watched their fair share of Saenchai matches. Great job!

When I trained for Muay Thai, it’s insanely difficult to hold control, but it’s necessary so you won’t tire out within the first 30 seconds
Since it’s a full body workout while attacking and defending
So seeing them blocking carefully and attacking precisely is really amazing to watch

Something about watching these sparring videos over fights is that you learn the technique easier for some reason
yes i get what you mean i think the same the techniques are thrown with less intention so i think they can focus on techniques slightly better

Been struggling with sparring recently, haven't been sparring very long so I decided to watch (and re-watch, and re-watch, and re-watch) this sparring vid to get some tips.
Figured out my weight was split evenly and sometimes too much on my front leg so kicking with it was difficult and I ALWAYS got pinged in it.
My way of attack was too punch focused too, also got pinged a lot.
Noticed how Nico stands and how often they both kick, along with what kicks they throw and emulated it today - tell you what it was 100x better than before.
Feel like I've made progress - cheers lads
